F/E 9/2: Labor Day Edition
Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Y'all BBQ'ing today?

If you play in a Yahoo fantasy league make sure you read your team's draft grade and season preview. It's hysterical!

The Siri of analysis (Automated Insights) is also just as accurate, err, umm off, as the talking heads & ex-players who get paid to grade a draft before any games have been played. LMAO! Apparently an unproven guy with durability issues, a guy coming off an ACL and a rookie are a "terrific group of RB's" and not a precarious swing for the fence which could be a dumpster fire by week 3. Sounds just like someone we collectively hate on TV. Automated Insights should be a regular on Around the Horn.

Have a great labor day everyone.

The Q Fantasy Football league will be drafting tonight in around 6 hours from now (I think 9 EST)

I wasn't too happy about last night's episode of Breaking Bad, the story seems to be taking a turn I never expected. I can't even stand Jesse anymore.

Apparently there's rumors that Idris Elba (from The Wire) might be the next 007. I don't know if he's a good fit or not.

I am back from the Baltimore Grand Prix. Except for the awful heat and the race turning into a DERPfest halfway through, it was a great time. Even better, my little sister said it was "awesome" multiple times, even though her boy Will Power either screwed up or intentionally wrecked someone. Hopefully the event comes back next year.

With me back in pocket, I can assure you all football coverage will be extensive next week in the sports section of the site. That is all.

I like the "Bond Code Name Theory" that's been swirling around the interwebs for a few years. So, recasting the roll every few years kinda makes sense I guess? I'm not sure about Idris either, but who knows? I wouldn't mind letting Sean Bean take a crack at it. Cristian Bale, Fassbender and Colin Firth would also make my short list. They'd all play it slightly differently, but that's always been the point with Bond right?

(I'd also troll the hell out of the ineternet with a fake Naomi Watts/"JANE" BOND reboot leak. You think people went off the rails when they heard Affleck was Batman? This would be epic.)

Forgot to mention that I have predictably been sucked in to the Parks and Recreation on FXX.

Yesterday, I was in heaven as I sat in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium, five rows from the field, up the south 17 yard line, watching Teddy Bridgewater and the Louisville O-line methodically make mincemeat of Ohio.  Yesterday, he went 23/29, threw for 355 yards, and five TD's (all in three quarters, as he was taken out of the game with the score being 42-7).  He threw a pass or two under pressure that should not have even been possible.   Unfortunately, I think that the one thing standing between Teddy and the Heisman is Louisville's strength of schedule.

Has Teddy been seen walking on water yet?

I think if the game had been on Saturday or today, that may have happened (yesterday was the only rain-free day of the weekend).
Kid has some crazy skills and he is SO humble.  He does not want the school to sponsor a Heisman campaign, and he says that any award he wins, Heisman or otherwise, belongs to the team.

Q'rs
This site has been hard to get into today. I finally made it and now it's bedtime. Hope everyone had a great weekend!
I did get the chance to watch The Avengers & Django. I loved them both. I also got to watch Escape from Planet Earth, it was pretty good but lost me somewhere in the middle, caught the ending though. Oh and I went to a BBQ and O em gee, these people knew how to cook some bbq ribs....(i'm drooling right now just thinking about them) Football!!!!! (is there anything else? I don't think so)

PEACE
