First? FIRST!

Happy Monday Q'ers!  It's another BEAUTIFUL DAY in Nj!  Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Rams won first game of the season for the first time since 2006!  They came back nicely on Arizona.  Their "bend don't break" defense leaves a little to be desired, though.  Carson Palmer moved the Cardinals up and down the field it seemed.  Up next...FALCONS....in Georgia....Rams might be 1-1....

Our Rotary Club had our 4th annual "Dog Fest" yesterday and raised over $6000 for charity.  It was a lot of fun, and the weather cooperated.  But....being the first day of football season....turnout was lighter than last year....

Here's today's pic...enjoy...in honor of the Jets pulling one out of their butts

Gotta love Coach Fred Flintstone!

Not sure what I'm doing wrong or if this site is f'd up again but I do not see my "From the Armchair" article that I posted 1.5 hrs ago in the NFL Article section  frown Here is the link for those wanting to read up on Da Bears.

Not 100% sure, but, that saying "Everything happens for a reason" may be the reason why I might have a second chance at life right now?

I was going to meet up with JSWOL on Sunday for the Bears game and finally meet that lush, for the first time, but,  Friday afternoon I was in a major car accident.  Some D-BAG, was talking on his cell phone and did not see me slow down to allow a car to merge into our lane and destroyed the back of my car.  I've been dealing with whiplash trauma and slight dizziness all weekend.  I was told not to drink any alcohol, do any strenuous activity and to lay low for a few days, so, my weekend was pretty low key.  Thank God I decided NOT to drive my other car, which is a Mitsubishi Eclipse Convertible, otherwise, I may not be around to type this message out or any future message for that matter.  Well, that was what the Cop and my mechanic implied.  The weather was perfect on Friday and I was going to take the convertible out to head where I was going, but, something inside of me made me change me mind.

I hope the rest of you had a nice weekend!  The NFL was crazy this weekend........Glad it's back and Hockey is not that far behind!

oh my god. work gave me a new keyboard and windows 7 this weekend! first of all, oh my god. the tabs? pfff, whatever, there are no tabs.

then there's that little rectangle at the bottom right that shrinks. everything. at the same time.

and the bottom bar thing that i can pin crap to? like, crap that i always wished i had instant click access to because i use it often enough to want that, but not often enough to leave it open tous les temps? wow.

and then there's the everywhere feature, where everywhere it looks like jellified glass. wow.

and the keyboard!! my spacebar works! it's a miracle!!

also, there is football tonight! finally! i got all cuted up in my gear for work and realized by the time they walk on the field, the pants will have long been shed, the hair will be in disarray and my makeup will be slept off onto my couch pillow and my cheeks. but it's football season now! weeee!!!!

i saw breaking bad in real time last night as it aired for the rest of the world to see for the first time. my body hair is still growing.

favorite dude: sam elliott and the dog that was complicating issues during the bill paxton scene.
favorite line: "you gonna do something'er just stand there an' bleed?"
surprising moment: i was so worried sam elliot was gonna die that it used up all my emotions for when you-know-who did.
overall feelings: it was ok

Good Morning,

- Sans the ND game it was a great weekend.  One of my best friends came in from Michigan for the weekend.  A group of us hit up German Fest, karaoke, the slabs, and a few bars, and restaurants.

- ND lost a tough one in AA Saturday night.  Despite two terrible PI calls at the end of the game, I won't blame the refs.  Rees' into at the end of the 1st half is what ultimately cost us the game IMO.  Tough pill to swallow, but I still think we can get to 9-10 wins.

- Da Bears came back from down 11 to best the Bengals.  Jay Cutler didn't get sacked and you have no idea how happy that makes me.  It's not like it happened against a bad team, Cincy is legit, especially along the DL.  Despite a few mental lapses, the defense looked pretty good.  Peanut and TJ picked up where they left off last year - forcing 3 turnovers between the two of them.  The pass rush needs to improve, though.  On to the Vikings....

- Other highlights of the opening Sunday of NFL football included a hard fought, captivating game between GB/SF.  Clay Matthews should be fined, as should Suh for yet ANOTHER dirty play.  Maybe Goodell needs to suspend him for 6-8 games?

- Nick, sorry to hear about your accident.  How ya feelin' buddy?

I was thinking the same thing!!

Left my keys in Robs truck so I couldn't go to work this a.m.  Ohwell.....cooking up a bunch of stuff so I can be lazy all week.

Was thinking about how my friends daughter used to sing "Me so hungry" and started laughing and have been listening to 2 Live Crew all morning.   Old school.

Yahoo Fantasy Football experts can bite me.

I have picked a college team to root for........Boston College,  My best friends grandson is a redshirt freshman.  Frank Taylor.
Look out.  He's smart too!  Bonus!!!  http://www.bceagles.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/frank_taylor_807903.html

In other news:  http://m.bbc.co.uk/sport/olympics/24009517         So happy for the kids who have been fighting to keep their sport in the Olympics.

Marlins may be in last place and stink this year, but this kid should be rookie of the year:

Hahaha.....yeah, right, Kurt?  That would have been a compromising position I would have been in!  wink

Thank you and the rest of you for your well wishes (Jen, JSwol, Laurel, Leigh).

I'm doing fine today. So far, no lingering side effects (headache, stiff neck, dizziness).  Working from home all week, so, hopefully, there won't be any lingering effects.

Like they say, were all "day to day'.  cool

i forgot i put a picture of walter white on the church website for sandy to find one day when she was bored. he's been on there in his underpants for at least two months. somebody finally saw it. the comm director thinks it was a hack job, so i think i'm safe.

also! i got a cloud at work and got to upgrade my photoshop from version 7 to version cc which is skipping 9ish versions. i'm starting the what's the difference picture today just to feel my way around!

oh my gosh.

oh my gosh, i just added a cute flower theme to my google.

Oh, I forgot.

Magic HP mug...! So much fun! I'm a wizard!
3D Marauder's Map mug....extra fantastic as well.. I used one on Friday night and the other on Saturday morning, cause I'm a child and love gifts.
Pretty homemade Falcons bracelet. Love!

awww

Sunny and The League were great. Quality television. I hate Rafi, but "take 1 baby aspirin, 2 if you're getting on a plane...in a month, clear that sh** right up!" kilt me. Plus, I shimmied when I saw JJ Watt...oh my. Adam Brody and lil Blair Walsh didn't hurt either.

I'll have that Cardinals article for you on your desk in the morning sir.

I missed out on camping because of heavy rain, and have been moping about it all weekend.

On the bright side, NFL is finally back and summer nearly over.

Good morning, and welcome back to work.

So I ended up working all day Saturday and remembered why I don't do real manual labor outside of home landscaping anymore.
Yesterday was good, our baseball team won our semifinal game 14-4. My rough physical weekend continued as I took a bad hop in the throat while playing first, but managed to scramble to find the ball and make a no look under hand flip to the pitcher covering first for the out. The inning before that made a diving backhand play on a ball in the hole and scraped up half my arm. And to finish the day, got plunked in the shoulder in my last at bat. But we won, and I ended the longest GD homerless drought in my life. Championship game next Sunday, looking for our 6th straight league title.

Football!!!!!!!!!!! Quick hits
*LOL USC
*I watched that entire BYU domination over Texas and loved every second of it
on to the NFL
*It's going to be a long year in Pittsburgh
*A safety on the opening kickoff of the game, huh?
*Seattle/Carolina was everything you hoped it wouldn't be
*Why haven't we seen a note on the ticker saying the Jacksonville Jaguars have signed Tim Tebow? Blaine Gabbert was atrocious and that franchise is a disaster. Muh like their helmets yesterday
*49ers are scary good. It will be interesting to see how long the old Anquan Boldin is back here for
*Jets/Bucs.. I just.. *sigh*
*Saints and Falcons should play 3-4 times a year
*Indy is overrated. Their D was awful last year, and it's not any better this year. And let's cool it on Terrelle Pryor until he actually does something
*Reggie Bush - big things in 2013
*Mike Wallace is a joke and whoever coaches that sh**ty Dolphins team should bench him
*How the hell did the Bears win that game? Cincinnati folded like a cheap suit in the 2nd half
*I thought for sure New England was going to lose that game. I think they miss a few people
*Was that Carson Palmer playing a respectable game I saw?
*Eli face.. The Cowboys should take that gift wrapped win and move on. They aren't very impressive
*Ray Lewis on TV is cringe worthy

think of it this way, if you were in your other car you may have been driving at a faster average speed and not been involved in an accident at all. Then you would have been able to enjoy your weekend, sipped on some sizzurp with JSwol and maybe even sang some Duran Duran at Karaoke at 3 in the morning. Today's lesson may be that you should always trust your first instinct. And don't forget to leave a note.

Now while we're pondering deep inner workings of the universe, here's another one for you

Just realized right now about the arm chair deal. So yeah, sorry 'bout that. BUUUUUUUUT I do have about 1200 words (that need to be severely edited per the CoC) for a Weds F-U. Having my little book with me on the couch was an excellent idea to corral my ADD stream of thought while I'm watching the RedZone channel, tweeting, texting and talking mucho ish on the phone. (Keeper leagues breed hysterical contempt.)

I love The National. Football. League.

Highly doubtful on "if I was driving my other car". The car merging in front was merging whether I wanted it to or not, I had to slow down in order not to nail them.

As for JSWOL and Duran Duran, that must wait until another weekend.  I know SWOL was looking forward to the Karaoke part.. i know he was planning on singing "When I Touch Myself" by the Divinyls.........sorry bro! frown   cheeky

what I'm saying kemosabe is that in my parallel universe I've laid out for you, you would have been 3-5 minutes in front of the coordinates you found yourself in that fateful day and miles out of harms way.
Or maybe you need to look at your karma score and find out where you f**ked up

In all seriousness, I hope you do get to feeling better

Behind the Wheel...Depeche Mode

My little girl
Drive anywhere
Do what you want
I don't care

Tonight
I'm in the hands of fate
I hand myself
Over on a plate

Now

Oh little girl
There are times when I feel
I rather not be
The one behind the wheel

Come
Pull my strings
Watch me move
I do anything

Please

Sweet little girl
I prefer
You behind the wheel
And me the passenger

Drive
I'm yours to keep
Do what you want
I'm going cheap

Tonight

You're behind the wheel, tonight
