Small list of things that make me scratch my head today.
  1.  So many people coming to Peyton Manning’s defense over the comments of Jim Irsay?  Isn’t Irsay simply repeating what most Manning haters say all the time?  That being, Peyton never wins the big games come playoff time and only has one ring?  Either way, thank you Peyton for choosing Denver to finish your career in.  We love you and will continue to support you.
  2. RIP Wally Bell, 48 years old is always too young to pass away.
  3. After watching three people, at separate times tempt fate by walking in front of the bus I was on yesterday it got me thinking.  If you want to walk in front of a moving vehicle, how about something like a Prius or a VW Bug where you might have a chance of injury but doubtfully death?
This is my story...and I'm stickin to it...

Feliz Humpday,

-I love fall weather.  It’s the best.  Went for a run this morning at 5am and it was 45° – just my speed.  I ran 2.17 miles (3.492276 kilometers) in case you were wondering.

-ND/USC is just days away…and I may be going.  We haven’t missed a home game yet this year so the streak is still intact!

-Dinner last night was a Boca Burger (w/ bbq, honey mus, lettuce, onion, and jalapenos), butternut squash bisque soup, and some peas.  Tonight I’ll be enjoying a real meat burger at one of my local bars for just $2.  You jelly?

-Hawks won.  Again.  Yawn.  Wake me up in March.

-Roses are red, violets are blue, my new neighbors are LOUD, and their a cappella group gives me the blues.

FOURTH  FIFTH!!!! (i need a fifth!!!)

Morning Q'ers!  Not too much going on lately....keeping busy.  Got some personal turmoil going on.....may be unfounded, maybe not...that's all I'll say about that (in my greatest "Forrest Gump" voice)

The GREAT team, the Rangers, play tonight.....well...they will ATTEMPT to play tonight.  I use "play" as loosely as possible.  They have been lacking in both defense and offense.....

HOW in the world do you get picked off of 2nd base?  I watched a little baseball last night, but saw a nice double, then a nice pickoff....

Here's today's pic...enjoy...

(the increased amount of acorns on the ground and the cooler mornings and nights make me realize that....ugh...winter is coming)

Buenos Dias!
  • That Patterson guy should get life in prison for what he did to Adrian Peterson's 2yr old son!  Tragic!!!  And this isn't the first time that Patterson has physically abused a child!  angry
  • LA DODGERS - WTF! angry   LETS GO!!  UGH!  At least Marmol didn't give up any runs!  wink  F STL!

  • Weather permitting, this Friday will be the last Softball games of the year (until next May).  I am depressed about that.

  • How about them Avalanche!  6-0.....which ties a record for the best start to a season for a rookie coach.  And Patrick Roy isn't even in net!  surprise

  • Patrick Sharp scored his 200th career goal last night and then capped off the Hawks win with the Shoot Out game winner. yes  We are now 4-1-1 - 9 pts on the young season.  I am not happy with the fact that we dominated the 1st period and were up 2-0 until the 3rd, when we gave up the lead, AGAIN, and ended up going to OT.  PHOOEY!

  • Sabres forward Patrick Kuleta was suspended 10 games for his hit to the head on Columbus Defenseman (and ex-LA KING) Jack Johnson.  Kuleta is a repeat offender......what an idiot!  No need for that kind of crap in sports!

  • Speaking of which, did any of you see that Boarding hit that STL's Maxim Lapierre put on Dan Boyle?  WTF?!?! angry  Boyle's jaw hit the ledge on the boards which caused him to get knocked out....He was carried away on a stretcher.  I think it's safe to say that Lappiere will be suspended for quite some time.

Avalanche. Boom. They were totally outplayed last night and unlike Teach's Kings managed to win the game. suck it
Big one tomorrow night as the Stockholm Red Wings come to town

I really wanted the Dodgers to go to the World Series. Darn. I have no problem with the Red Sox sweeping the Cards again though

Jim Irsay wants people to make sure that people don't forget he's around. The whole Manning thing was a cheap plow to get his name in the news during a big week. The Colts defense is suspect, is has been for 2 years, and even if the Broncos give up 25 to Luck and the Colts, they're gonna put up 49. Count it

I once got talked into playing with a team for a softball tournament years ago,  they said oh come on play its a lot of fun and we have a real good team so should make a deep run etc etc etc etc etc  ............

Softball can  and UGH OFF !

Detroit Tigers lose this series they can UGH OFF too angry

Sleepy Hollow was once again pretty darn good and Mindy heart was her cute and funny self as always !

I have a confession to make - "further" and "farther" mess me up. I don't think I ever get it right.

My Michael is coming to visit me in January. I'm so freaking excited.

Now I want a Monster. Dammit.

I have almost all of my Christmas shopping done. Crazy, right? I never have ANY of that done until almost 12/23...but since December has 3 home games and October only has one, we had to use the $$ this month...we'll be strapped in December. Don't think I won't be making goodies though.

We need to buy pumpkins.

In theory, we're close to ending the shutdown/debt ceiling mess (well, for now anyway). Of course, Congress has to actually vote first, and I can't see to find a scheduled time for that.

Ya know...I was wondering about the default the other day, because I know if that happened the military wouldn't get paid (I know, I'm self absorbed...see?) Anyway, so it made me wonder if that counted as a "breach of contract" of sorts between the government and the military members, and if that would mean that the military could say "I'm out, see ya" and not show up for work. I'm pretty sure that isn't the case, but I felt it warranted asking. Because here's the thing - government default = no military pay, but then the military is stuck, working for no pay, unable to leave the military and go work somewhere that they CAN get paid (not that there are a ton of jobs out there, and that would only get worse...but in theory...) I mean, it wouldn't be a huge deal here in this house because we could live off my earnings until things got figured out, but for anyone else in the position that needs their income, that just seems wrong to me.

Oh I forgot a couple of things...

Watched The Heat last night. It was cute. I loved it.

We did go see Gravity in IMAX 3D over the weekend. I don't know if I would have *loved* the movie had I seen it at home. It was good, but WOW in IMAX 3D = intensely awesome.

I actually watched Sons of Anarchy again last night and I loved it. Last night's episode was reminiscent of the early ones...the lighter side of naughty. If it had stayed like that throughout the entire series, I would never have stopped watching.

I'm reading a book called A Discovery of Witches. So far so good.

When it comes to default, I never really get past the complete destruction of the world economy, and wondering how quickly I could learn to forage for food and how soon I'd be killed once we start cracking each others' heads open and feasting on the goo inside.

Q'rs!
I wish they would invent an eye wash that actually worked. Cause I read:
Beans as getting a fancy looking epilady (idk)
Tom Hanks seeing a hedgehog
and the pics were big enough to see some nasty jam, Nick being Nick, Eric being social
and Jess coming home. SOA is outrageously fantastical this year. I have never been more excited for the next episode.
oh and American Horror: Coven is pretty awesome
Leigh, you will be fine, but it will be painful, so take your meds and sleep if you can.

This season has been better (Trev's been keeping me updated). The past couple of seasons just really turned me off. Last night was the first time I've actually WATCHED it since Opie died (I was already over it before that even happened), and it was so much fun. I actually laughed a few times again, which is something that had been missing. And the "bad" stuff was crazy. Also - BOBBY!

Season 1 will always be my fav, I was not a fan of  Season 3, to all over the place for my taste.

Jess: They have been showing Bobby and his travels, I am glad he wasn't one of the ones "lost".

I'm actually fine with the Avs play. Go them! Beat the Sharks, Blues, Ducks, etc....! Patrick Roy amuses me. I really want to see Roy's reaction to a loss, but I'll wait. It will make it more exciting.
