Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Happy Veteran's Day to all of you sexy people in, or once upon a time in, uniform. You're fantastic!

My head hurts, my back hurts, my neck hurts, and I'm grumps about it.

Have a stupendous day.

FIRST!!!

Morning Q'ers!  It's a beautiful sunny Monday!  It IS a federal holiday, but one that I don't count.  The only Fed Holidays I pay attention to are the standard....New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day Thanksgiving and Christmas.  The others?  Well, I work on those days.

GREAT WEEKEND!  Started out by taking Friday off for wife's birthday...surprised her...cooked breakfast for her, did some things around the house and then had her family over for "fast food dinner".  Went to Wendy's, Taco Bell and McD's.  It was nice.  Saturday was kinda lazy, and yesterday....finished taking down Halloween decorations.

RAMS and the GREAT team, the RANGERS, both won!  Rams killed the Colts, who I don't think are as good as their 6-3 record, nor are the Rams as bad as their 4-6 record.  Super Bowl?  I think not, but good old "Coacho Ocho" (Fisher) has them believing a little in themselves.

Here's today's pic...enjoy....

Have a GREAT Monday!

i was sick sick sick this past weekend. i don't know what that monster was but it wasn't a cold or cough. it was all in my face and my back and i am so glad that it doesn't hurt to have my eyes open today!

i was supposed to go see gov't mule on saturday night, but i stayed wrapped up in my stevie nicks dress and hunting socks and watched the two most adorable movies...ever.

this one is a total hippie weird-fest about a small town being swallowed up by the likes of big box mart and other chain stores.

hartman/daddy is the owner of the only bar in town and has a heart attack. his daughters come in and find he can't pay for his medical bills let alone keep the bar open so they decide to sell it. the rest of the town ain't having it.

the bar staff and the gay fantasy football group, and the local bands, and the cheating priest, and the pop star raised in that town, and the cool hartman daughter all band together and take the place hostage to raise money to buy it and keep it running.

this movie is filled with weirdness, illegal drugs, goodbad decisions, ugly skinny dipping (my personal favorite scene), love and bad words. it watches more like a play than a movie and the budget was probably somewhere in the 3-digits as any scene outside of the town is shot in front of a screen. it's endearing.

the other movie i watched is called safety not guaranteed and it has april ludgate from parks and recreations, the grumpy guy from new girl (aka not-mark-ruffalo), and some dude i don't know. i love this movie a lot on a personal level because it is soooo weird and it is really the closest love story i've ever seen to my own.

april and not-mark-ruffalo go to investigate an ad looking for a partner in time travel. they wanna see what the guy's deal is - if he's crazy, or if he's crazy.

april with her icy weirdness is able to break through crazy-guy's defenses and they begin building their partnership for their expedition. he is fabulous and drives a 1986 banana. they find in themselves, trust where there wasn't really any comfortable trust before and they share parts of them they've never shared with anyone.

throw in a desperate attempt by not-mark-ruffalo to reunite with his first b***j**b-giver, secret agents, a heist, and a night of indian debauchery and you have yourself a darn good time.

To the Vets and Service Men and Women out there..........Thank you!

Went to a 30 yr old Elementary School reunion on Saturday...............woah, I just realized that is longer than some of you are alive....Gawd, I'm old! crying

Blackhawks won Sat and Sun to improve to 12-2-4 - 28 pts and still, there has only been 2 games this year in which we did not get at least 1 point.  NYCE!  yes

Bulls beat the horrible Utah Jazz to improve to 2-3........ehhh...long way to go.

The BEARS dropped a big ole stink bomb!  It could be worse, but, this crap is unacceptable in Chicago!  (sigh)

I want to be back in Mexico....this sucks!

I am AAhmazed at how I can amuse myself while being mean to others (family) and not have a second thought about it. I have tons of stuff to do, and it will get done (or not) and that's OK too, cause there's always next year (right?!) I hope you all had a fantastic weekend! Random Thoughts...

1.  Watched Trance and Only God Forgives saturday.   Trance was ok i guess.  I expected a bit more from Danny Boyle.  He had the opportunity to really make the movie an epic mindf**k but ultimately sh** the bed with the predictable ending.   Pass on Only God Forgives.  It was hard to get down with god being an old Thai samurai cop.

2.  Today i get ass f**ked at 530pm by an insurance representative. Insurance premiums are almost doubling starting Jan.14th. Might be time to go hit up the ACA website.

3.   F**k you Joe.

4.  My xmas bonus this year is 8 free movie tickets.  They can fold those 8 movie tickets up really tight and shove them right up their ass.   Are you kidding me?

5.  Im not in a good mood today.

Sooo, the Braves are leaving the city of Atlanta and moving to Cobb County. Traffic is about 10x worse during the rush hour when most people are on the way to the games. Pretty sure you're already on thin ice with most of your fans and now you're making yourself more difficult to get to, and increasing everyone's stress level by the time they arrive. This is not smart. at all. Plus, I used to live up the street and walk to the stadium, as lots of kids did which won't happen up north. Lame. Way to waste even more f***ing money.

Good! The best thing about B in 23 was Dawson playing Dawson. When you start the League...Ruxin is my soul mate, so watch it with that in mind. He's unattractive and Jewish but quite dreamy.

p.s. It really was a rant about stupidity, and I'm not sure why I even care because it will make traffic lighter for me. So, there.. I rescind it.

PLUS, tons of people take public transportation to the games. They don't have that in Cobb County. Jesus :/ F***. That first day is gonna be on Dateline.

Happy veterans day to all those veterans out there and those serving today.

Went to the Avs-Caps game last night, had a blast, and may have had a little too much fun post game. Today sucks. Oh and by the way, the Avs are now 14-2-0. It's bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S

The Broncos kept things rolling along yesterday despite a definite "oh sh*t" moment when Manning was hit down low. I could have sworn that diving at a QBs legs was outlawed a couple years ago

I agree with Leigh's praise for Safety Not Guaranteed. I've watched it a couple times. Love it.
On the topic of movies, I went and saw Thor: The Dark World on Saturday. I liked the first one better.
Also, I checked out a documentary called A Band Called Death on Netflix. Awesome

Have a good week people

Hello out there in FanIQ Land and Happy Veterans Day!  It's a shame this isn't a paid holiday for the hospital system for which I work.  There's a hockey game going on right now and the Eastern Conference just got turned upside down.  Steven Stamkos went awkwardly into his own goalpost and while I'm not a doctor by any means, judging by the way his right leg bent, I'm pretty sure it's broken.  You can read lips pretty well on the telecast, and he seems to think he broke it.  More information as the story develops.

Would you all please keep a friend of mine lifted up in your thoughts?

The 63-year-old homeless man critically hurt in a Lincoln car accident has been identified, and the driver is awaiting his initial court appearance.

The Lincoln Journal Star reports (

http://bit.ly/1ahZC4I) police say Marvin Archer was hurt Friday night as he crossed O Street a few blocks west of downtown.

Archer remained in critical condition on Sunday at a Lincoln hospital.

The driver of the car that hit Archer, 25-year-old Grant Siggins, was arrested. Police say Siggins is suspected of driving under the influence and refusing to take a breathalyzer test.

Shiver me timbers...

In Canada it's Remembrance Day, so I thank all those who have served, are serving or will serve to keep us all safe.

I get no Christmas bonus from anywhere and while we are having a Christmas party, we pay individually for every single bit of it.

Just found out that a young man has died when the logging truck he was driving slid on black ice and was sliding over a bridge.  The driver jumped out, attempting to land on the banks, instead of going down into the ravine.  He was caught up in the truck and ended up at the bottom with the truck on top of him.  He was 34 years old and the father of three boys, ages 7, 5 and 3.  His brother is the boyfriend of another friend, while his brother in law was recently married to another friend, and left on his honeymoon the day of the accident.  It is all being kept quiet, as the request of the young man's family, so the honeymoon can proceed as planned.  My heart is breaking for all of them.

To distract myself, I'm baking cookies.

There are two reasons (or appear to be, I should say) they're doing this:

1.) They're (probably) getting public money, so it's a matter of simple grifting.

2.) Allegedly this is their ticket sales map. I don't know about you but it feels a little "white flight"-ish to me.

Anybody ever hear of a landmark "turf war" game called Ingress? Total nerd alert, I'm sure, but my husband and I just joined up and as soon as I'm done with work we're gonna go out and sack our town for Team Blue. I guess there are some portals we can capture that are open? I dunno how it works but I'm excited. Plus, this is the first Veterans Day my husband's had the day off in at least 3 years so I figured we'd go out and do something fun.

They are doing this because they are a**faces. The more I think about it, the more upset it's making me. They are trying to sell BS, but most aren't buying.

(did that seem confrontational? just in case, it was not intended to be.)

Time.  Motherf**king.  Warner.  They will bend you over without your permission.  Every.  Single.  Time.

No, you are correct. The only person I'm mad at right now is myself for scoring so low on Jeopardy tonight.

It was fun! I mean...we just kind of drove around and "hacked" portals, collected items and XP points but it's kinda awesome having the "real" world be part of the virtual world in a video game of sorts. I can see this becoming one of our favorite things to do on road trips.

They post the maps/colors online for their "team" to see. I haven't figured it out, but these guys are heavy into geochaching as well, and have found every one in their area, so I am assuming that's how they got into this.
