MUSIC VIDEO/SONG

"Seether" by Veruca Salt -

"Seether" is a single by the American alternative band Veruca Salt. It was backed with "All Hail Me". In 1994, the song was No. 3 in British Radio One DJ John Peel's Festive Fifty. The song appeared in the film Young Adult.

The post-grunge/alternative metal band Seether named themselves after this song, and in 2013, recorded a cover of the song.

Speculation resulted over to whom the song's character of "the Seether" might refer to in real life. The song "Volcano Girls", includes the line, "The Seether's Louise" (i.e. Veruca Salt guitarist Louise Post), however, this is tongue-in-cheek, as the entire verse parallels a verse in The Beatles song "Glass Onion" in which John Lennon sings "The Walruswas Paul." It has also been speculated that Gordon wrote Seether after having a discussion with someone and disagreeing so strongly that she wanted to assault her, yet feeling societal pressure, especially on women, to keep their anger under the surface.

Only 7 more of these "FEW HIT WONDERS" left to go.

Wondering if I should keep doing these music polls or not?  It doesn't seem like hardly anyone looks at these or votes on them.

Thoughts?

Yeah I remember this song and the kinda dumb music video that accompanied it. They had another hit a couple years later that nobody other than teenagers of the 90's who were into alternative would remember. They couldn't actually play the guitar as well as they made it look, mostly stipulated power chords and they tried to cash in off the success of grunge and imitate other girl groups such as the Breeders and Liz Phair. They were kinda average "meh" for a girl rock group, I give them a 5.
