Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

I need sleep. I need food. I need vudka. I need a ***.
I'm going to buy my christmas gift to myself today or tomorrow. That'll make it better.

So in a nutshell...

Christi is wet, Jennifer was wet, Stoney has great taste in all things,  Nick and Jessica are white indians, ashley has a scale of whiteness that includes a black man, leigh needs a punch to an ovary, and Kat is being very passive aggressive.  Nice.  Keep up the good work.

Ha!  I'm never first.

My heat isn't working today.  It's about 55 in my condo and my thermostat is set on 85.  It's about 15 outside right now, and even though it's going to warm up this weekend, the highs will be in the single digits this week.  It's time for the maintenance people to be dependable for a day or two.

I'm off today (just like every other day, except today I don't have to work), so I'm going to crawl into bed under about five comforters and read some books.

Does Woody know you're first today?

Saw the options here, vodka and beans will work just fine.

good morning everyone

I knew Bama wasn't that strong on defense this year, but last night was ridiculous.

Tomorrow is the annual pond hockey tournament in Evergreen. On a positive note, this is the first time in the last 4 years my team isn't playing at sunrise. On the downside, it's supposed to snow and be cold as balls tomorrow.
It will still be fun though

Big win by the Avs last night yes Keep finding ways to win games they shouldn't, i like it

Today doesn't feel like a Friday

Pga Tour kicks off today yes Which only fuels my desire to finally buck up and get a new driver this winter

I heart breakfast burritos, and if you don't use green chile in yours, then f*ck you

i bet colorado breakfast burritos are silly.

i was going through my facebook this morninbg and saw glenda posted some picture of obama with a noose and there were so many others who were like "beat obama!" and "punched obama in the mouth!" and stuff and when i was like "whoa, what's going on?" i found out it was actually just "bama" but glenda did post a picture of the president in a noose too. it's been a weird morning.

i had a dream last night that i auditioned and made it on this troupe of folks who bungee jump in a 4-story 18-wheeler while it drives all over the country. we were stopped at a gas station and this one chick pulled me aside and was all "wanna get h**h?" and i was like "duh." and so we take off to find a place but one of the dudes started coming towards us, so to hide it, i ate it. and if my dream was being honest (they usually are), bungee jumping in a moving semi while being like to here with it

was incredible.

It's futhamuckin coooooold out!

So, we are done with getting snow…….until tomorrow…..18.5 inches fell within 48 hours.

Tomorrow's temperature and next weekend look nice but the rest of it can bite (frost bite) me!  -8 & -4 for the HIGH's on Monday and Tuesday?!?!  WTH! crying

Right now, it's 6 degrees with a Wind Chill in the negatives……I really need a Winter home somewhere warm.

The Hawks lost to the Islanders in OT?  What?  Nabokov stood on his freakin head last night!  The Hawks could have easily had 7-8 goals. Then, again, Crawford made a lot of unbelievable saves as well.   Hawks - NJ tonight in NJ.

I realize there are Tiger Wood haters out there, but, seriously, how does Adam Scott get chosen over Tiger for the Male Golfer of the Year Award?  Not that, that award means anything, but still.  And why are the Golf Writers Assoc picking who should win the award?  Shouldn't it be given to the person who won the most majors and/or the most $$ or a combo of the two?

BTW - This is a good read….It's about Tiger's ex-caddie Steve Williams > read

H
eading back to Mexico from April 5th-13th with my dad and sister.  Our annual October trip has been changed to April from this point forward due to my sister not being able to get off of work due to it being their busy time of the year, where she works.  Hey, 2 trips to Meh-hee-co in 6 months is fine with me!  smiley

Don't forget, there is the NFL PLAYOFF CHALLENGE going on.  Games start tomorrow, so, if you want to play, you better sign up soon.  Here is the info.

Enjoy your weekend!

Oh, so you have a little brown in you? sweetness,

3. I don't trust this coming from you but it serves my purpose.

We have started this show, I think we're on 6 or 7th ep, we don't love it yet but it's decent. Seems like a slow burn and I don't love that. Hopefully it picks up. Anyway, my little sister would like to know if the whites love this show because it makes them feel more black? or cause they think it gives them more insight into black life? or what? :|.. I answered this with "ummm, what?" I said I would think they love it because it's good television. I assume they don't think this is how all black people live (though in our family *sigh*.... story for another day). She said everyone hounding her to watch it has been a white. I told her the blacks (hey, during the new years parade whatshisface said "the blacks" out loud. I cried.) really like it too. BUT, then I said there are some who love Good Times for it's accurate portrayal of all black people and probably hate the Cosby show cause no black people could possibly live like that, so I'll just ask some of my white people. So, here i am. :) Why is this "it's the greatest television program man has ever created"?

breaking this down, I like it.
*seasons 2-5 were why I like it more than any other show.
*this show couldn't make me feel any blacker than I already do, and that's why I watch The First 48
*I also love shows where they have to import Brits to play Americans (HBO trademark)
*Michael K Williams
*I actually had a couple friends growing up with Cosby-esque families, so my portrait black america may be skewed.
*For instance, that George Jefferson always had me suspicious
*insert the do many black people have HBO, and maybe that's why she's getting white referrals? question to stoke the embers of racism and comedy

luff you.

Hmm, this makes me think I should have classified/qualified my white people, because you love hockey but you also listen to more lil wayne and rap than any "white" person should. Then, You live in Denver, probably have full checking and savings accts, and you don't really like basketball. I don't know where you actually fall on my white people scale. 1-...Mitt Romney? Anderson Cooper? Carlton Banks? Who's the whitest man in america?

Anyway, I'll pass this on...*googling michael k williams* Oh! Scar. I've never known his name. Scar scares me.
She's never seen the first 48 so she won't get that reference, but it made me HA.
George Jefferson makes me sick. Always has.

I can't afford to move right now.

Apparently, the cause of the leak AND the cold condo is that the people who bought the condo upstairs, in the process of renovating, have broken their boiler pipe (or it burst due to the cold weather, one of their windows was cracked open).  They have a S**TLOAD of standing water.  The maintenance guy let himself in through their unlocked window to evaluate the problem.

Luckily, he took pictures while he is up there and I took pictures of the damage to my place.  (Even my ceiling fan/dining room light fixture was leaking).  So now I get to deal with the insurance company.  Thank God I have insurance, and I hope the neighbors do as well.

Saturday is proving to be just about as rotten as Friday was, and it's only 7 am.  I am ashamed to say I'm wide awake at 7 am.

RIP, Phil Everly

I met the Everly brothers several times in my life because my uncle played with them when they were growing up.  The musical world has lost a legend.

And it looks as though Charlie Strong is leaving for Texas for a 5 year/ 5 mil deal.  Can't say I blame him, but there is a lot of info out there for the university to have none of it.

I think I tempted fate with the attitude I had wanted to have for 2014.  2014 is making that resolution quite difficult.

No, actually, we have gotten a total of 9 feet over the course of the winter, BUT we normally have warm spells to melt off a lot of it, and the yard might have 2.5-3 feet by the time winter is over and it starts warming up.  This year, although we have had those warm spells they haven't melted much at all, and we have well over 4 feet on the ground almost everywhere, and some places (like my yard) have more.  We have already broken a record for snow that was set in 1980, and winter only started two weeks ago.  I other words, we have not seen this much snow on the ground in any winter since 1980.  And we have a lot more winter to go.

I'm sorry guys, it's just really depressing.

Youse people and your snow bitching seriously need to STFU.   I have 5 feet of snow in my yard.  It is currently f****ng snowing.  I have shoveled that white s*** every single f****** day for the last week or more, and if anyone ever complains again about a f*******  4 inches of snow being a snow day break or a problem with their driving or any other f******* thing, I will seriously buy a plane ticket to come and throat punch you.

Obviously this was directed at me, since I'm to only one that mentioned how much snow we had fall.

Your picture is the EXACT reason why I do not live in Canada.  No thank you! cheeky

Meanwhile, so, after getting  18.5 inches in a 48 hour span, we are getting another 5-8 inches today and MONDAY's high will be -14 with a -52 windchill and Tuesday's High is supposed to be -2 with a windchill near -30.

So, yeah……

Oh, God, NO, Nick, it wasn't directed AT you!!!  Your post was just the last in a very long line of posts I happened across that particular day.  I'm so sorry.

It is snowing again here, as well.  I did get my driveway plowed out yesterday, for the fifth time this year.  I haven't had to plow it out more than three times for the whole winter in the 15 years I have lived here.  It was -32C (-26F) this morning and my water pipes in the crawl space are partially frozen.  I have water dripping to keep them from totally freezing, and hoping that the warming trend they are predicting does come into play.

I understand that everyone across the continent are struggling with this weather.  I meant no disrespect to anyone. sad

It was pretty here today, and relatively warm (low 50's) which is still too cold for me. I'm a big baby.

Meanwhile, we're looking at houses just north of Seattle and I keep finding them cheaper and nicer the further north I get on I-5...go figure. I'm still shooting for not much more than an hour out though.

We've also decided to offer up our home to billet WHL players if we end up buying something. They're desperate for billets, and I think it's something we'd love...and there's a very short window in which it's going to work out to do so, because no way in hell are we going to do it once Kiernan hits about 15.

I've been without internet all day. Just got it back. Wasn't it so nice without me? cheeky

Debi,

I was being sarcastic with my comment…..I'm sorry that I made you feel that way about my post……my sense of humor is hard to understand sometimes because I am sarcastic and its hard to tell when I am being serious and when I am not.

So, for that, I apologize!  heart
