I do not condone.....repeat, DO NOT condone these kind of hits.

With that being said, I am really surprised that Seabrook, who has NEVER been disciplined before or suspended got a 3 game suspension for this. That's usually what they give repeat offenders.  Up 3-2 in the game, with 5 mins left and down 1-0 in the series, Seabrook was not intending to hit Backes in the head. I can guarantee that. The NHL is too stupid to take that into consideration, along with his clean record, before deciding how many games he should be suspended for.  I know that they are trying to clean up the game from these kind of hits, but, all we (the NHL fans) ask is for consistency in their suspensions! The NHL is a major joke when it comes to this.  Seabrook's a smart player and our 2nd best defenseman on the team.  And the NHL Committee for Safety stated that this was a late hit (interference) as well as boarding......um, if that is the case (interference), there should be a ton of suspensions and/or penalties for hits that happen 1.5 seconds after the puck is past the player.  I expected 2 games, tops. And for the STL fans that are crying and saying that Seabrook is a dirty player and that they hope Reaves breaks Toews knees, 1) I wish they knew WTF they were talking about and 2) nice class!!! yes, before commenting on the internet. And for the Hawks fans that are calling BS on any kind of suspension and thought this was a clean hit, those morons should learn the game before commenting as well.

We were down 3 games to 1 to Detroit last year and 3 games to 0 in 2010 to Vancouver and ended up winning the Cup both of those years, so, I will hold on to that.

Oh yeah, how in the hell is everyone? Where in the hell is everyone? sad

Hope you all had a nice Easter and I'm sure some had an extra nice Easter considering that it fell on 4/20 cool

I dunno Nick, it sure looks like that's where he's aiming to me. I know a lot of Chicago fans disagree with me though.

I had an exhausting weekend, starting Thursday. Friday was what wore me out though - what a long day. Had to be up at 6:30am on Friday, and didn't get to sleep until well after 3:00am the following morning.  I'm beyond happy that the house we're looking to buy (hopefully hear something today) has nothing to do with ferries. Good grief, what a mess trying to get off of Whidbey Island back to the mainland on Friday night without having to drive back up and around. One ferry left at 7:30, but we didn't know we had to make reservations. The ferry toll booth guy said, "if you don't have reservations for the 7:30, I can TRY to get you on the 9:10, but I can't guarantee anything" - all for a 45 minute ride across the sound, just to get to a town 3.5 hours away from our home. So we ended up having to take a separate ferry just to get back to where we started, and then another one to get to a different town close to 4 hours away from home. What a mess. I missed a Mariners game AND the Ducks game (although waiting for the 2nd ferry, I was able to watch the end of it through the window of a bar across the street from the loading lanes.) Anyway...the island the house we want is on has a bridge leading to the mainland, thankfully, so we don't have to deal with that.

ANYWAY

On a quick stop on Friday I saw a Mariners shirt that said Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend. I wanted it so much, but they didn't have it in my size...and now I can't find it online anywhere.

The NHL is currently going down the same road as the NFL did re: class action lawsuits, so expect these kind of suspensions going forward. The Dept. of Player Safety is a sh!t-ton of lawyers with an ex-player figure head. This is the tip of the iceberg. Hockey fans are about to get a full dose of Goodell imo, err on the side of suspension & fines.

Geezus Kings. I had flashbacks of Patrick Roy's last days in MTL. I'm on the side of protect your "guy" and pull him vs. the you can't pull your "guy" in back to back games. It's a damned if you do or damned if you don't. I would have pulled him then put it all on the guys in front him in the locker room, even if everybody hand a hand in it.

I know the Bolts are at about 70% right now and that call on the goal was super BS (horrible rule btw), but... #GoHabsGo

I stopped at Dairy Castle on my way back from running some errands.  I'm happily rushing into the land of brain freezes, calcium comas, and lactose intolerance.  I mean, seriously.  Who can resist an peanut butter and banana milkshake?

If you look at the reply, Backes is turning towards Seabrook and his body level changes, so, he's actually a little lower than usual when the contact is made.  Seabrook was interviewed in the lockerroom after the game and he sure seemed sincere when he stated that he was just trying to finish his check and was not trying to hit him in the head.  But, I understand that everyone has their own opinion and perception of what they see.

Ended up going to the AVs-Wild game 2 on Saturday. It was off the chain again son, but nowhere near as crazy as game 1. Nathan Mackinnon is good at hockey

I don't totally agree with it but accepted the fact Seabrook would get at least 2 games.

Has anyone seen what happened to the Kings? Where's James Mirtle screaming about how their stats during the regular season were unsustainable?

Days of Our Lives is explosively fun this afternoon

I plan on keeping my advanced NHL stats twitter trolling going for the next 2 months at least #FenCloseCup

Regardless, I agree that 3 games is a little extensive.
