Hmmmm....first?  I know I'm not....but I FEEL like I'm first today....at least it's the first long post on F/E

Afternoon Q'ers!  Hot here in NJ today....close to 100 degrees!  YUCK!!!  We're supposed to get some thunderstorms tonight and tomorrow, followed by remnants of Tropical Storm/Hurricane Arthur.  I just hope that the storm doesn't get caught between the moon and New York City.....imagine what a "theme" that would be......

Yankees can't hit.....lost something like 8 out of 10.....getting one run a game just isn't gonna cut it.....but on the bright side of things, only 2 more months until FOOTBALL SEASON and 3 months until HOCKEY SEASON!

Here's today's pic...enjoy...

Have a GREAT hump day!

You need to live closer...my husband can build/make/solder anything. He's pretty much a badass.

Still no news on the house, but the seller was told that the sale process is moving forward, so wtf, mate?

We went grocery shopping last night...our bi-weekly trip. We got deli meat, cheese, produce (lots of fruits & veggies), bread, tea, milk, stuff for dinners, etc. etc. and omg you guys, we spent less than $200. A whole shopping cart FULL of stuff, we got everything we needed (and I got stuff to make salsa), and we spent under $200! I love civilization.

My brother & his brood (wife & 3 kids) are coming to visit next week. They're packing for the trip and the little one, she's 3 (I think) asked if they were going to see Grandma. Her mom said, "no, we're going to see Aunt Jess." Paisley said "she's too pretty mama, I can't see her." I have no idea what she meant by that but it made my day.

Ash I may be able to start Supernatural tonight. You in?

I dig that Citrical "Beauty is bone deep" commercial. Too cute.

several things on my mind.
Yes the men's soccer team was fun to follow for a few weeks, and the World Cup is great because it's a collection of the world's best players of a sport. And that's why every four years America gets excited. If we saw that kind of talent on a normal basis, maybe soccer would be more popular here.
Along those lines, yes Tim Howard had a great game yesterday, but let's not get carried away here.

As far as NHL free agency goes:
I had a feeling Paul Stastny would leave the Avs for the Blues. It was kind of the worst kept secret around town. I do like the acquisitions of Danny Briere and Jarome Iginla, and even though they're older the Avs have zero offensive talent in their minor league system. I was disappointed they didn't upgrade their defense. Next year could be interesting

Back to work, these short weeks due to holidays are insane

I am exhausted, even though I've had the best night of sleep ever.

Craving some authentic Mexican food, and the craving is severe enough that I am leaving the house even though I am really tired.

Yesterday's ACC ceremony here in Louisville was SO MUCH fun and probably the reason I am exhausted today.

Good Afternoon, Everybodee!

It's been so long since I've stopped by.  (I'm sowwy.  Been too busy at the office to stroll on by, and by the time I get home, I don't want to look at a computer screen.)

So much going on.  Let's see...

Youngfool is in town for the month to take a course or 2 at UCSD.  He's going to be in college longer than expected due to not getting the class he needed, so he will be minoring in Business while trying to complete the major in Engineering.   Of course, while he's here, he will assist here and there with fireworks, which just recently started.  He will be helping with the Fourth show in Poway.

Daughter is now a senior.  She went for a week camp the district put on for the arts programs.   She is back now, and this last Sunday we went and saw a DCI (Drum Corps Int'l) show in Riverside. (Go Blue Devils!)

On a more serious note, our younger son is going to have his appendix removed this afternoon.  Wife took him to ER this morning where they discovered it burst.  So I anxiously await news regarding him.

Is that it?   Hmm, let me see, Padres suck.  Team USA played a hard game.  Band doesn't have as many recruits as of yet for the upcoming year, so our band director does not have a full schedule.  Most likely uprooting herself to move back to Wisconsin.  We shall see.

Ok, I think that's it.   For now.

Q'rs
I don't on a regular basis eat fast food, but every once in awhile, after a night of uncontrolled drinking {3 tmes a week lately} I find myself waking up craving a big mac, so i go get one.  In and Out will always be my favorite, but sometimes, well, you just have to go rogue. Burger King no longer "broils" there meat,  Wendys {cause the hamburgers are square, it's just not right}, taco Bell {since I worked there in the 80"s has really gone down hill} really leave me blah. I don't like chik fil laa {gross, just gross} I won't eat at Denny's or Ihop cause, oh em gee, really? I have walked out of a restaraunt after ordering because of the service. I love Joe's Crab Shack and sometimes I have to settle for Red Lobster. I like to eat at "hole in the wall" homespun eateries cause that's where you get the best food.

*whew* Pat's article really got me thinking. and yet, this has nothing to do with "tips" or does it?

PEACE

I don't do fast food much either...unless you count Chipotle and Panera Bread fast food...I suppose you would. In that case, belay my last. I love those two places. I also LOVE Joe's Crab Shack, but there isn't one close. Apparently Seattle local places won't allow it (I don't know if that's true, but it seems legit.) and agree with you on denny's and ihop - though, sometimes I'm just craving chicken & waffles so I will meander into an ihop in that case. Hole in the walls are the best, as far as restaurants...especially of the ethnic and burger variety. I did however just discover Five Guys the other day and that was pretty awesome. Peanut bins while I wait for my fresh burger with awesome crisp and wonderful veggies?! YES PLEASE!

Anyway...food. Mmmm...I bought a watermelon the other day and have yet to cut into it. I better do that soon. All the produce we bought last night is from local farms. How awesome, right? I knew the lettuce, celery, carrots, and apples were, but I didn't know the packaged grapes and cherries were until I just dug into them today. OMG

LOVE Five Guys....the best part is when they put the fries into the bag (we do take out there).....they put the cup in the bag, then the fries in the cup.  Makes for a lot of "escapee fries" on the bottom of the bag....the best kind!

My daughter's "mother ship" is Taco Bell...I can only eat there once in awhile because 1. it's not good for me and B. It doesn't LIKE me (not to say the people around me after I eat Taco Bell REALLY don't like me.....an hour or so later).

If I HAVE to eat Taco Bell (sometimes it's the only thing open when traveling late at night) I love the Doritos Locos tacos...those are awesome.

You may copy and paste this to 7/3 F/E if I don't get to it from the road.

I am leaving in 2 hours to go Michigan to see Angie (Crackersexwife if you're old around here).  I'll be there for the 4th.

Going to the Detroit Tigers/Rays game which is now Sunday night on ESPN.  I will be sitting down the right field line in a seat on the rail near the foul poll.  I'll be in my Suh Lion's jersey.  Look for me.  or not.  Might try to get in touch with Lee (Woody) and Alicia while I'm there now also.

Peace Out Cub Scouts.

I completely agree, I am on the wrong side of the U.S. I could use a badass solder dude. And maybe we could go fishing while I'm there, you know... just for the halibut.

Sorry, I just had to go there. It's me.
