Welcome back. This is the part of the locker room where you can sit and chat and chill for a while without offending or being shushed. Maybe you wanna watch a dvd or listen to your mp3. Yes, I rhymed. Something on your mind, post it! Random question, ask it? Hijacking is allowed and encouraged. Join the party, troll around, have a beer. It's cool. All are welcome, but please leave all BS in the hall.

Bonjour mes amis!

You know what gets on my nerves? No? Well, let me tell you..people who enter a convo but it's mostly just to disagree with everyone. You know the type.. like...everyone is talking about how great their day was so they jump in and say it rained and it's been gloomy and sad all day. Or, everyone is talking about how much they enjoyed a recent trip to Six Flags, so they jump in to say they don't like rollercoasters. Or, everyone is discussing music and they chime in with they never listen to the radio. Just negative/anti everything. And I don't even think it's on purpose but it is annoying when it's basically all you ever do. f***.

have a great day.

Do I do that? I might do that sometimes. Slap me.

Stoney - I like going to TC because I can get autographs. They also have a DJ playing throughout the whole practice, and we dance and act like fools. I also think it's kind of cool to see what they do during practice...the different drills are fascinating. I'm a spaz, I know. Last year I also got to meet & talk to Pete Carroll for awhile, and I got to stand on the sidelines of the practice field during their scrimmage. I'm hoping to get kind of the same type of deal this year.

(It's also kind of like being at the beach/park, and who doesn't enjoy THAT?):

Y'all I really need to buck up and get that spare room finished at some point. I don't know why we're calling it a spare room...it won't have a bed. It's a fan cave.

Morning, Everybodee!

Our band director is moving off to Wisconsin.  Partly because school district officials with their heads up their ......, and partly due to better offer, near mom and grandma.    Best wishes to her, though I will miss fireworks and general hanging out with them.  (Though Summer Pops will have a different operator handling the show, I should still be able to volunteer with his crew. )

New replacement (temp?) director started yesterday.  Have yet to meet him, but should soon.   Daughter said he asked how big our parent group is, and my daughter replied "My dad."     (though my wife has helped out with uniforms in the past.  Daughter forgot that detail.)

Well, here's to a (hopefully) bright future this year.

I just don't get the allure of NFL training camp. It's practice. Just don't anyone get hurt

Masters of Sex season 1 was fantastic. Now I'm sad I let go of Showtime until the Winter

Has anyone seen the cartoon Handy Manny? My nephew loves that ish. My brother got him the tool set and he plays with it nonstop.

speaking of which, this kid does not look like a 2+ year old

They gave Ray Lewis many a standing ovation too. He's their guy. It would happen with any fan base.

Yeah, I just don't care enough. I live about 20 minutes from Dove Valley and have no desire to go watch practice. (Although due to complex renovation construction, there are no fans allowed down there this year and the Broncos are doing a lot of stuff at Mile High)
I like my football players and generally most athletes like I like my race horses. Just don't get caught doing drugs and don't get hurt and give me something entertaining once a week. Once you meet and are around pro athletes for a while, you realize what awful people most of them are and the idolization factor disappears.

The Mindy Project - I've watched every episode
Justified - This is one I've been meaning to get to. I'm an unabashed Timothy Olyphant fan
Rescue Me - Brother is a firefighter, family from New England, I own every episode
Jericho (which i thought i would hate but it got good). - See, I tried to hang on when the first 3 episodes aired and I couldn't stay in
Hannibal - I want to be a part of this phenomenon. I heart Mads Mikkelson, but hate network TV
The Bernie Mac Show - Enjoyed it in its heyday but now it makes me sad
Prison Break (this is a definite if you didn't watch it. Make it my #1 for you) - Never got into it, but it is on my preliminary list
Lincoln Heights - Google search. If I can find It I will give it a shot

Ok.   My daughter recalled a conversation with her counselor near last year choosing classes for this, her senior year.    She had specifically requested NO AP Classes.  (AP classes here are basically college lever courses, for which the students take a test at the end of the year.  If they pass that test successfully, they could earn college credit.  Not bad, but the workload really tripped my daughter up the last two years.)

Counselor:  How about AP Calculus.

Daughter:  I don't want any AP classes.  What else is there?

Counselor:  How about AP Statistics.  It is easier than the AP Calculus.

Daughter:   Did you even listen to what I said?  No AP.

Now, seniors have a choice between AP Calculus, AP Statistics, or Finite Math.    Hey, a non-AP class.  How about that one.

So, my daughter is now in Finite Math.   I just checked online at the assignments and the first 3 were:

A1: Basic Operations
A2: Number Sense and Expressions
A3: Modeling with Arithmetic

There doesn't seem to be any happy medium.  It's either the two advanced AP courses, or what appears to be a generic basic basic math class that Ashlie should be able to pass without any anxiety attacks.

I am so glad this is the last year I have to deal with this district.

One of the U of L cheerleaders was found dead in her apartment yesterday.  No foul play is expected.  She was 22 and an elite athlete on an elite cheerleading squad.  Just shocking.

Enough of being a downer for the day.  The weather has been gorgeous.  We hit a record low this morning...54.  I walked outside and became quite nostalgic for college football.  Great football weather.

I must apologize for thread bombing.  I am getting way too happy for The Hobbit:  The Five Armies and here's why:

That's the math I took my senior year so as not to give a damn and meet the requirement!! It was called Discrete Math and it's basically just a refresher course. Was an easy senior A.
