BCS, Playoff, or the Old Days
I know I would prefer a playoff instead of the BCS, if we were too actually decide a champion.  But would you prefer a playoff over pre-BCS where you had the bowl tie-ins, and could just talk about national champions.  seems like there was normally a consensus before the bcs, other than a couple of years.  just my thoughts.

While I would prefer the playoff to the BCS, i think I might be partial to the good ole days, where if there was a split champion, both teams show up at the white house, and somehow a game breaks out on the west lawn.

I heard the best idea for a playoff system the other day on some satellite radio station.  There would still be bowl games, but after the bowl games they would take the top 16 teams in the country and make a playoff system.  This includes all bowl games, and the top 16 will be made by best record and quality of wins (like how much points they won by, who they beat and some other qualifications I can't remember) along with coaches and computer polling.  In order for it to work the bowl games would have to be played a few weeks earlier, but I'm willing to make that sacrifice if it would bring us a definite national champion.

"but I'm willing to make that sacrifice..."

What sacrifice are you making? Are you a college football player? Are you going to put your body and potential NFL career through 12 or 13 weeks of a regular season, a bowl game, and then potentially 4 more games in a playoff?

If your sacrifice is that of spending more money to watch college football, then as a sports fan it isn't a sacrafice, its an investment!

I have heard fans, coaches, sports announcers, university AD's and Presidents all put their respective "two cents" in on the debate, but I truly don't think I have ever heard the opinion of any college football player. Can anyone cite any, or show me where to find some? I am curious!!

That's the best idea????  They'd playing until March.  That's a crazy idea. Incorporate the bowls into a playoff system and start early December.
