Do you Believe in 'Brownie" Points?
TerikaHarifa and I were talking on IM about earning points.  Because of a comment i made she said I earned 3 points, so I responded gee how many points do i have now, and where is the catalog to redeem them?  I think these "brownie" points are bogus and just give women something else to think they have control over men.  Let your voice be heard.

OMG!!  Dave!!  I can't even believe you did this.  Those 3 points from before- GONE!!

But you made me laugh so hard when I read this that you earned 6 more.

I joke about points with a lot of people not just men.

They are fun, but no big deal.

One more thing to keep track of, Ugh!

I'm more of the golden rule girl, "Do unto others".  If people are going to do something for me with the expectation of getting something in return, they need to step away slowly and run the other way.  I Can't stand fake people, let alone brownies.

Dave, I have to agree with ya on this one Sweetie

No, I hate them. Hskrdave you are correct again.

Me and a buddy are actually in the process of creating a "Cool Point" system in which a persons will gain/lose "Cool Points" based on integrity and merit. Advantages of having a sufficient amount of "Cool Points" on your "Cool Points Card" would be free admission to concerts, cutting in line privileges and the like.

I think the 2008 election is going to have a profound impact on "brownie points."  I recently asked the candidates about their stances on this issue:

Hillary Clinton: Clinton has pledged to take "brownie points" away from people who worked hard for them to give them to those that don't have enough.  She envisions a society where everybody has an equal number of "brownie points."

Barack Obama: Obama has pledged to hope that people change their stances on "brownie points."  He has suggested they be renamed "hope points" or "change points."  When asked to expand on his position, Obama began quoting famous civil rights leaders and I fainted.

John McCain: McCain is in favor of allowing Illegal Immigrants to have "brownie point" amnesty.  He feels non-citizens should be able to earn and redeem "brownie points" like everybody else, despite the fact that many immigrants had to wait in line before redeeming their "brownie points" legally.

Mike Huckabee: Huckabee believes that "brownie points are the root of all evil."

Please vote accordingly...

i almost gave you a pq for bringing politics into my innocent battle of the sexes poll.  I probably should have given you a bold, but i laughed.

Sure, they're cute.  And as a man who enjoys my physical relationship w/ my significant other, I'm going to do things to stay in her favor.  But no matter how many points I earn during the week, though, will never make up for one use of logical argument against her irrational...aw s!@#!

I've been married for almost a quarter of a century.  You better believe there are Brownie Points.  You see, every time you do a little something that isn't on some list or a job that was discussed "to be done" you get what I call "mental brownie points."  It isn't discussed but they add up!  I never mention that I did that or those jobs that I didn't want to do or the job she was going to do BUT I just go on my merry way.  She may never mention it...but, she's seen it, she appreciates it---I know her

As the Brownie Points accrue there are many ways that they may be traded in:

1.  I might screw off and the simple "I'm sorry honey" shouldn't work...but magically, it does---BROWNIE POINTS were deducted.

2.  Some night I come home and just sit down exhausted and I don't want to cook or go out; she calls my favorite pizza place and we cuddle up on the love seat, eat and watch an old movie and we laugh a lot and well.  you know---BROWNIE POINTS accrued Paid in part!!!

3.  I haven't see my friends down in Myrtle Beach for quite awhile and I know it is an expenditure of funds we can't really afford...when I ask she says, great idea---I'll call one of my friends and we'll go to Atlanta window shopping while you visit your friends---Big Brownie Points.

Yep, these points accrue and they pay quite nicely.  I never know when they come...I never mention them or ask for them cause it would ruin the effect for sure.  A quarter of a century and it works for us; both ways!

AMEN!

Yes I subject my S/O to them all the time.

I dont care what they are called. truth -feelings-compliments- or just plain ol a--kissing if it makes things more pleasant I am a believer
