On this list, it's Parish & McHale for Joe Barry.     (the old joke about him was that his initials, 'JBC' actually stood for 'Just Barely Cares' !!)

However, I got a few others for y'all:

- The New Orleans Jazz (yes...N.O.) in 1976 (?) traded their first round pick in 2 years to LA for Gail Goodrich.    The Lakers, selecting first overall, then selected Magic Johnson.

- The St Louis Hawks trading Bill Russell to Boston for Ed Macauley

- The San Francisco Warriors trade Wilt Chamberlain to Philadelphia for Paul Neumann, Connie Dierking & Lee Schaffer (who retired, rather than going to SF)

- The Houston Rockets trading Elvin Hayes to Baltimore for Jack Marin

Some classics, eh ?!?!

Yeah, I believe it was JBC for Parish & a draft pick, which turned out to be McHale.     Not bad, eh ?

I know this is an NBAish poll, but the worst trade in the history of any and all organized sports ever was Favre being traded from Atlanta to Green Bay for the 19th overall pick of the 1992 NFL draft. Worst. Ever. Period.

Yeah, I'm a little bitter.

the classic is the Pippen/Polinyce trade, especially if you consider Pip to be one of the greatest player at his position in NBA history. But I really,  Kobe Bean Bryant for Vlade "flop a lot" Divac? doesn't get more disproportionate than that!

Vlade Divac was pretty good, for someone who smoked 2 packs of cigerettes a day. He used to have a ciggie while sitting on the bench for Yugoslavia/Croatia.

Scottie Pippen for Olden Polynice.  History: Selected by the Chicago Bulls in the first round (eighth pick overall) of the 1987 NBA Draft....Draft rights traded by the Bulls with a 1988 or 1989 second-round draft choice and the option to exchange 1989 first-round draft choices to the Seattle SuperSonics for draft rights to Scottie Pippen on 6/22/87

Pip - Career ave. 16.1pts, 6.4rebs, 5.2asts and 2.0stls. One of the NBA's 50 greatest players with 6 rings and Olympic Gold medal.  One of three players in NBA history to record 200 steals and 100 blocks, season (1989-90 season), MJ and the Dream are the other 2.

OP - Career ave. 6.4pts, 6.7rebs, .7asts and .49stls.  Not even half of Pip's accomplishments.

one thing about the Jazz pick however. I just read a Magic Johnson Biography for school (got a 100%) :D and he said that if the Lakers would not have gotten the first pick, he would have returned to MSU, but since the Lakers pulled out the first pick, so he went pro

Yeah.....if I recall, the Bulls lost the coin flip for the #1 pick and ended up w/ David Greenwood.....ugh !!

However, had we gotten Magic in 79, we likely would NOT have gotten Jordan in 84............

I forgot to mention the trade where Detroit sent Otis Thorpe to the Grizzlies for a 1st round draft choice. That pick wounded up being the 2nd overall in the 2003 draft, which could've been used on Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, or Chris Bosh.

Otis Thorpe only played half a season for the Grizzlies, but the trade sorta evened out as more of a bust, since the Pistons selected Darko Milicic instead of one of the perennial all-stars. Memphis wounded up getting Milicic later on.
