There may be a higher power, but im not even sure about that. It just seems like all religions have some sort of hidden agenda. I dont knock anybody who is religious, if it makes somebody a better person to believe in a god, then good for them.

I believe in the God of Abraham, the Father of Jesus Christ who was crucified on the cross, died and rose three days later;ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the father and by His death our sins for can be forgiven and we can attain eternal life through a relationship with Him.
I was raised Catholic. At 13 I broke into the church and for personal reasons cursed God and told Him I wanted nothing to do with a God that would allow what I had experienced in my life. After 20 years of alcoholism and drug abuse I chose sobriety and to become clean. After about nine months I looked for a higher power to help guide and direct my life. I chose the God I mentioned above. I chose that God based on faith, not a religion. I too have my issues with "religion." However, I have chosen to practice my faith in a Baptist Church. It is a Bible based, Christ centered church. It is contemporary, casual and focused on three things: Reaching People, Teaching the Truth(Scripture); Transforming Lives. Church for us is not the building; but building lives together in groups outside the church as well. Our church is about 200 people; but our small group ministry reaches about 300 people in homes in the community. Long answer I know, the short of it---I'm a Christian who choses to worship in a contemporary church who insists that you serve the church and community and that the church doesn't live to serve you.

I believe in the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit Born and raised Catholic. Experimented with a number of demoninations and ended back serving in my Catholic parish....a studied to become a commisioned lay minister. I believe in the gifts of the Spirit and the Holy Word of God. Even though I am a lay minister in my Catholic parish, I have still attended a number of other demoninations and appreciate many of them. This may surprise ones that don't understand some of the growth the Catholic church has gone through since Vatican II.....but I have even preached at our liturgies a number of times. When I gave my life to the Lord back in 1988 I surely didn't think I would end up back in my Catholic church...but it was where the Lord called me too. And I am not judgemental as far as which Christian church is best .
No church or religion is perfect...and yes, man does screw things up many times, but I agree with tigerillini...The building doesn't make the church. The real work of the "church" is done outside of the building.

I believe in God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. I rasied in the Church of Jesus Chirst of Latter Saints, better Known as mormons. There are alot of misconceptions about the mormon church, they believe the same things as most other christians and they do use the book of mormon, but the bible is the pirmary scripture. Oh and No, you cant marry more then one wife, I know there were "mormons" on the news that had more than one wife but they would be kicked out if and when the church found out about it. The two wifes was for back when women couldnt own property and alot of fathers and males would be killed, so women wouldnt have to live on the street.

I'm going to start by asking that you all respect my beliefs, because, well... I've been attacked for voicing my opinion in the past and I don't appreciate it very much, obviously.

Well, I come from a mildly religious family, but I am an atheist. I think I don't really believe in god because I see no proof (yes, I understand science hasn't been proved sompletely either). I'm a very scientific person and I tend to believe things that seem to be more... realistic, things that seem to have some basis in the world. To me the whole creation story seems to be just that, a story. Despite my own dislike for religion, I have immense respect for religious individuals and I am in awe of their ability to take things on faith alone, not that that is always a good thing, but in general... So, I have nothing against religious individuals, I just see the world differently

I am a christian who believes in God, Jesus Christ. I like theresnohincool have trouble believing in things that arent there for me to directly see... I think this is b/c it is impossible to grasp such a huge concept... Though I am trying to get closer to my savior and lord Jesus Christ..

I would rather live like there is a god and find out there isnt, than to live like there isnt a god and find out there is.
