I haven't watched pro sports for 14 weqrs. But about the time I stopped. They seemed to be the team that the police report was issued unstead of a team newsletter.

America's team? C'mon now. Half of Dallas fans became Dallas fans for the cheerleaders. If football was based on cheerleaders 1. It would only be played late at night on weekdays for teenage boys and 2. The Cowboys might be respected by the other teams in the NFL. I've gotten over the fact either you like the Steelers or you respect and hate them at the same time. Dallas fas are as bullheaded as can be and with a 3-13 season they would still brag about how good they are!

Being a Steelers fan, I would think that you would know what TEAM LOYALTY is!! It's not bullheadedness- it's LOYALTY!!! Most Steeler fans know the difference!

The mere nickname "America's Team" is enough of a reason to hate them. If I were on a team that was based out of ONE city, and someone tried to call my team "America's Team", I would be ashamed. It's pure arrogance that they've even allowed the nickname to stick, especially considering how their behavior off the field would embarrass America anyway.

How is Belichick arrogant? Cheater? Yup. Jerk? Sure. But arrogant? I'm not sure that it fits...

And the fan base isn't arrogant... we're confident. And you can't deny... there have been good reasons for our confidence. But NEVER have we EVER tried to oppress the rest of the country with our team by calling it "America's Team". That is the height of arrogance, igorance and idiocy. I realize someone else made it up, but the simple fact that it still exists is disgusting.

Let me get this straight, the Patriots fan base isnt arrogant- it's confident- yet the Cowboys are Arrogant.. Dude, get over yourself!   Maybe you missed the fact that the Cowboys (as well as the Steelers and 49ers) have 5 Superbowl Rings- not 3 (with only newly earned success) like the Patriots!! We know the difference between confidence and arrogance and the Patriots fans are ARROGANT!

Yeah... exactly. The Cowboys have NOTHING to be proud of right now. Their team hasn't won a single playoff game in over a decade.

Once again... I'd love to hear how Belichick is "arrogant". AND the fan base, for that matter. We're happy that our team has been successful lately, but I don't think "arrogance" is the word for it.

vinny and pat my friends......i agree with both.....both fanbases are "arrogant" with Pat being correct that arrogance isnt the word that fits. its a mixture of things. Understandably its your team but some people tend to take it further. Dallas and NE fans being ones who talk about the wins but refuse to talk about losses. My initial impressions of people dont get mad guys. I hate  dislike dallas for a couple reasons...

1) my stepdads favorite team.
2) Agree with Pat Americas team pisses me off. You wanna be fair. THE REDSKINS are americas team as indians were here first lol!
3) I HATE THE BANDWAGON RIDERS!!! Every kid anymore says I love the cowboys..ask them why? Because every walmart you go in the world has a dallas cowboys football, or jacket...along with other superbowl winners yet how long has it been ?? it's their first impression and it sticks.

finally I'll close with this, when you dont have a REASON to be confident, yet still are, you lean towards arrogance. my team is losing, badly, am I confident, no am I hoping to be arrogant YES. Jealousy plays a factor 2. Not neccassarily of wins but that some teams have been around long enough to amass such history.

CHad Ocho Cinco would be arrogant. Bellid!ick doesnt fit the definition BUT the name i gave him is proper he is a bellid!ck.... at the same time he cant be considered arrogant because regular season last year they were the best. cant be arrogant if there IS NO competition. One could possibly say he was arrogant about the superbowl that they and ALL of their fans (and I ) thought was in the bag....

"One could possibly say he was arrogant about the superbowl that they and ALL of their fans (and I ) thought was in the bag...."

You could call that arrogance... but I believe that the fact that 99% of the country thought that the Patriots would win that game makes it less arrogant. It's not like Patriots fans were the only ones predicting victory. I will give Vinnie SOME credit... he kinda called that one. But at the same time, he also picked the Patriots to lose in like 10 other games last year, too, so it really isn't that big of a deal.

I really dont know how you can say "even better and prouder tradition" but whatever! I think they both have proud traditions! But most people hate them because they were winning for all of those years. 49ers fans hate them because of the rivalry! Everything else is just window dressing anyway....

Yeah...the cowboys have 5 superbowl rings...BFD!!!  You don't hear us 49er fans shoving our team down the throats of the country because of it.  The rings are earned because of the team playijng at the moment... not the team playing now and definately not the fans.  The 49ers aren't the best, but the Cowboys have nothing to be proud of either.  the only reason you hear as much about them right now is because the media is more interested in which woman is in Romo's bachelor pad every night.  If it weren't for him we wouldn't hear much about the cowboys at all.  Any true fan of any team is gonna have pride in their team.  When you have nothing to brag about and still talk trash about the teams that do...any confidence you have turns to arrogance and makes you look like a jerk..  Its the fans like that who make the whole "America's Team" BS such a joke.    And as for 49ers fans not liking them just because of the rivalry...thats BS as well.  It wouldn't matter who my team was....Dallas would still suck

Why is Dallas still called America's team? They havn't won a playoff game in 11 years and there are 2 other teams with 5 Super Bowls(One of them won a Super Bowl before the Cowboys could win a playoff game, and the other got to 5 Super Bowls first).  "America's Team" is just a ridiculous nickname brought to a team, and no matter how many years till the next Super Bowl win, let alone, playoff win, it will stay with the team.

First off it's Michael IRVIN not Ervin.. Secondly, just because your team doesn't have the greatest fans in the world and the greatest marketing team ever doesn't mean you should bag on them. Give Jerry Jones some credit here. He took something worth little and made it worth billions. Get off the hatred bandwagon just because past Cowboys teams probably whooped your ass in a super bowl.

Who said anything about the Browns NOT sucking? What is it about people who automatically attack someone else's team when their team gets talked about?

Hey Vinnie... the Cowboys suck this year. They have supremely failed to meet expectations, and will be lucky to even make the playoffs, after starting the season as Super Bowl favorites.

The fact that my Patriots are in the same boat doesn't make the previous statement any less true, does it? Of course not. But feel free to bash them anyway, since you obviously don't have much to say to dispute the actual statement about the Cowboys.

Sorry but I cant say that the Cowboys suck this year..... They had a bad stretch, but anybody would with all of those injuries.... Sure, they havent played up to expectations these past few weeks, but whose expectations were those anyway??? They are 6-4 with San Fran and Seattle coming up and more than likely that puts them at 8-4 going into Pittsburgh 10 days after Thanksgiving.  I have no need to attack the Patriots, they have the same record as My Boys and play in a MUCH WEAKER Division- enough said!  Dallas going 12-4 is not only possible, it's a very real senerio that could happen- I'm not too worried about them right now!

oh, trust me, I aint overlooking ANY team this season..... All I was saying is that they SHOULD beat the Niners and Seahawks and was defending the comment that the Cowboys suck this year. Just found this poll, thought I would throw in my $0.02.  First of all, the term America's Team was not created by the Cowboys, it was given to them.  Don't blame the team for something the media stuck them with.  Secondly, the term America's Team has some merit.  Look at the television ratings when the Cowboys are playing and you will notice that they routinely bring in the higher ratings.  There is something to be said for a team that generates so much passion, be it positive passion or negative.  They are a lightning rod.

The reason most people don't like Dallas is they have their own opinions and don't like any one team shoved down their throats.  As far as why....it has nothing to do with Super Bowls or Championships.....other teams have similar stats.....The truth is Cowboys don't live up to the HYPE shoved down our throats about them.  Plain and simple.

The same people that say stupid shit about the cheerleading say crap about Jessica Simpson....The fans don't care about that stuff, I mean the cheerleaders and Simpson are hott but neither effects the Cowboys gameplay...All Dallas haters bring that stupid crap up like its going to hurt us Dallas fans or the team. We don't care, think of something better.

I think the worst thing I have ever found about the Dallas Cowboys truly would have to be SOME of their fans....I say some because I have known a lot of Dallas fans who didn't fall into the category.....but too many of the Dallas fans are ready to shove their team down everyones throat no matter how bad they are doing.  I admit my team ain't doing so great, but I still stand by them....how many Dallas fans can ADMIT when their team is sucking?  None I have ever met...There is a difference between team loyalty and pure obnoxious.

No, no, no... Thats not why we hate the Cowboys.  Its why you like them.

I hate them because they're divisional rivals with the Eagles and they're given an undeserving nickname of "America's Team".

I know the Cowboys arent the best, but if your haven't watched all of their games you cant say that they suck. To put it nicely, they are just struggling. Haha

Yeah whatever....they are just struggling, they're having a bad stretch, all those injuries.  That is something any fan of any team can say at any moment.  Those statements apply to the whole NFL.   And being an avid football fan, and living where I do....if I want to watch football on Sunday I am ALWAYS stuck with a Dallas game so I have watched all their games...they still Suck!!!

Sorry you are "STUCK" with watching the Cowboys play- but I truly hope you watched them a few weeks ago when the 49ers had to travel there- boy those Cowboys really SUCKED that day huh? LOL   BTW, Get Directtv and the NFL package and you will NEVER be stuck watching them ever again. Until then- sorry you are stuck watching a "sucky team"!

Steve Young as arguably he greatest QB in NFL history may be the funniest thing I have ever read on this site!!!  And as far as Browns and Cowboy fans go, the Steelers beat you both this year so how does that taste.  And the ONLY two things the 49ers have been known for recently is Mike Singletary ripping apart their loafing TE and dropping his pants at halftime.  Record the since 2003 is 30-63.  At least the Cowboys have had a winning record, despite choking in the playoffs year after year.  Browns, Cowboys and 49ers have great history in the PAST.  But WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY???  Oh yeah, Emmitt and Jerry were on Dancing With The Stars.  Tough to beat that.

You have to admit that both the Cowboys and Steelers offense sucked at that game but Dallas had that game won the whole time until we f"ed it up. The Steelers got LUCKY on that last turnover, they didnt get that interception because their defense is good, they got it because a miscommunication by the wr and qb. You could clearly see that cowboys defense dominated the steelers offense.

for some reason NO QB or WR has "clicked" against Pitts....thats why they have 16 interceptions.....top 5 in almost every defensive stat....one of the first like 5 teams to be top in as many catagories as they are on defense..to end the stat part go here

http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?archive=false&conference=null&role=OPP&offensiveStatisticCategory=null&defensiveStatisticCategory=GAME_STATS&season=2008&seasonType=REG&tabSeq=2&qualified=true&Submit=Go

their defense is awesome, i guess all 15 other interception the QB and WR had problems, or is it just the instance you wanna bring up, lets face it without Romo Dallas just falls apart. They suck without Romo. Keep him healthy, you'll have a chance but divisionally its just too tough, along with scheduling, for Dallas to amount to much im about to post some things to end this

First off Dallas threw 3 interceptions that game so what is the excuse for the other 2?  total turnovers for the cowboys = 5 turnovers for PItts = 2, after the interception, romo threw 4 incompletions sealing the game.

Pittsburgh scored 10 points on 3 fourth quarter possessions the Cowboys had four possessions in the final period, with two punts, an interception and a turnover on downs.

looks to me like the defense stepped up and shut em down in the 4th quarter, no points in a quarter with a powerhouse offense, sounds like the defense to me. Not to mention, if I remember Tashard Choice ran for more yards than ANYONE else had against Pitts.

Bottom Line is Steelers offense sucks, dallas doesnt, so why didnt they win, the defense my friend. That and Romo epicly failed in that game.

Dallas did not have the game. Nobody "has" a game until it's won. The Steelers defense is doing what they did in the 70's... Stepping up when it matters most and leave sad fans in their own stadiums. Haven't you payed attention to football this year? If you had you would know that almost everyone has dominated our offense. Tony Homo chokes under pressure. How many 4th quarter comebacks? Exactly! Steelers won, it's over, concentrate on s*** talking to your next opponent!

lol i think the giants sucked next to how they've played all year, i think dallas stepped up, made some plays but i also think it has  to do with Eli has thrown what 3 interceptions ALL year and he throws 2 in one game? Dallas wasnt spectacular.....the Giants played HORRID next to the rest of the year ...newman really stepped up that game.....a lot of factors but the giants went down nuff said! I hope Dallas gets in the Playoffs this year...im pulling for em....you have the same problem us colts fans have though...which team are you gonna see in the playoffs? The winning one or the losing one?

Why is Dallas still called America's team? They havn't won a playoff game in 11 years and there are 2 other teams with 5 Super Bowls(One of them won a Super Bowl before the Cowboys could win a playoff game, and the other got to 5 Super Bowls first).  "America's Team" is just a ridiculous nickname brought to a team, and no matter how many years till the next Super Bowl win, let alone, playoff win, it will stay with the team.
"One of them won a Super Bowl before the Cowboys could win a playoff game"
I know you were referring to the Steelers with that comment, but just to set the record straight, it was the other way around.  The Cowboys won Super Bowl VI while the Steelers won their first playoff game a year later.

Well I'm talking about the streak Dallas is in now.  It's been what? 11 years? since Dallas won a playoffs game, and the Steelers won their 5th Super Bowl before Dallas has ended the this streak.  They don't have any reason to be called that when there are 2 teams that have won just as many Super Bowls, and they weren't even the first to do it.

I think he's asking a question of some sort. Although I can't be sure, since he is using the unorthodox style of ending his question with exclamation points. His capitalization and the run-on nature of the "sentence" don't help, either.
