Politics is not a simple game to get in, like boxing!  Fame is not also the basis in joining politics for this requires enough knowledge in handling people of different ages, characteristics and culture.  Much better for PACMAN to go on with his field which is boxing while still young for it is where he became rich and famous!!!

I said maybe because IF there was someone in the shadows that knew the right things to say/do/implement writing every script/paper/etc. for Manny and tells him what to sign and what not to, then yeah, SOMEONE with a good hold of things should USE his publicity for a greater good.

If it's all on him, then no, he can keep raising morale and put the country in the (good) spotlight hopefully bringing the Phillipines as a whole in the public, on a worldwide scale.

I agree that pacman for now has to concentrate on his boxing career... but i beg to disagree that boxing is easy to get into... its so hard that there isonly one amazing fighter right now... the cream of the crop Pacman.... when he retires , then he should do what he can tohelp our countrymen.. if its politics then let it be....

I say he should do what he wants to do, but if he leaves boxing I'd really miss him. He is a great fighter. And contrary to popular belief, becoming a professional boxer isn't as easy as one would  think.  If a good beating would change some of these politicians here, I would say throw em in the ring with Manny and let him beat some sense into them. LOL  But seriously, if he ran for office here, I would vote for him. Anyone with that much discipline, fortitude and determination might just be able to make a difference in some way. He has heart and that is what 99.9 percent of our politicians lack. Lets not forget also, that we have had wrestlers, movie stars etc. with absolutely no experience become mayors and governors. So why think a boxer is not and can not be just as capable of doing so? Look at Jesse Ventura, If he can do it anyone can do it.

Let's not use popularity as a basis when it comes to politics... Politics is like a very tough decision in life that needs full understanding of the real situation to come up with a very fair and good solution. I admit that Manny is so popular and he wanted to help our fellow countrymen but he can do it in his own simple way and not by entering into politics. I am not under estimating our "People's Champ" capacity and good intention, its just that getting into politics can affect thousands of lives and our country has been suffering for so many years now, so i guess, we should all start to change the way we think about politics and the government so that we can still have a good future to leave to our next generation filipinos.

Besides the fact that all politicians are crooked and bought off by someone, Manny is an Awesome, powerful boxer so why try to shadow his career with politics?

Let the man pursue the good thing he has going now. True he is well liked and enjoyed by many and people would listen to him. He would be a great supporter for one in politics but Manny is where he needs to be...for now, until God leads him another way.

I look forward to seeing him box in person one day. Blessings all....

boxing and politics are poles apart. in boxing, manny succeeded because he has the power and the punch to defeat his opponents. but politics is a different field, not played in the squared circle but in the august chambers of brainy and dedicated persons. the magic word here is "brainy"! need i say more?

I don't know Manny's level of education. But then, boxing is not politics. I won't like him to play full time politics. But I don't mind if he is appointed a Minister of Sport or a Minister of Youth Development, if they have such ministeries in the Phillipines.
#28 | 109 days ago

Manny is a serious person. He wants to serve his people.
Manny is dedicated. He can serve better.
Manny is sincere. He can bring new dimension in politics.
Manny is a Filipino. He has no reason to betray his country.
#29 | 109 days ago

#30 | 109 days ago

no, it affects his boxing career. pwede nmn xang mging public servant khit nd xa pumaxok ng politics. politics is npkadumi, khit magpakita ka ng mgnda la2bas pa rin na msma sa mta ng tao. continue ur boxing career. go!
#31 | 108 days ago

No. Coz I do not believe he is at present qualified. And if he does join, he is just going to be the milking cow of his political comrades. If there is such an animal.
#32 | 108 days ago

no, i dont think that politics is not in line with him. he can do more better and help to those who are in need of his financial assistance even he is not in politics. as mr. baldeo says: he will be just a milking cow of his political comrades. baka magalit si mam dionisia.
#33 | 108 days ago

no.. becuase politics is not really for him... he can really help to his people without entering politics.. i dont think he can make it.
#34 | 108 days ago

its better to manny to do what mr. willie revellame do than to go into politics.used his money to give more job opportunity to his kabaryo.kalukuhan ang pag pasok nya sa politics just to get power ano pa bang power ang gusto nya.he have enough power to give the poor people a decent life ex: big company that can give a job oppotunity.

Well, I believe that every politician who wish to lead a nation or a constituency must know a lot about human behaviours and what drive a person to do what he does or did. It is also very important that Manny Pacquiao before getting nto politics knows a lot about management,. social sciences, finance and economics of money. I believe that it is not enough that he has money, of which he has a lot of, but politics as the creed goes is about public service and public service is not sbout turning people to be mendicants, which is sadly happening now, which is I believe is the principal cause of corruption. People asking too much financial help or dole outs from politicians. And because of these, politicians are forced to cut corners in order to comply with the never ending demand of some of the people they vow to serve, for MONEY. The equation is somehow are these politicians making legally that is? And how much are they forced to dole out everyday? See what I mean by being the root of corruption? Manny is going to be very vulnerable to this. Giving in to the demands of his constituents if elected. Actually what is needed is to provide this people with income opportunities by creating factories, etc. and not basket ball courts or waiting shades.

Well every body has his own way of expressing once self, if he thinks hhis good in it then try, so he may know the difference of  being hurt in boxing and the pain in politics..................

Pac-man should concentrate on what he do best..boxing! Politics is a no! no!- this would only lead him in the mud. If he is really sincere in helping the filipino's, then charitable works is ok. He dont need to be in politics for him to help.

p is for pacman not for politician!  if manny really wants to help his indigent countrymen, he could do so by providing livelihood projects to be financed by his earnings as a boxer. but for him to help his people by being a politician is another side of the coin! brains, brains, brains! a politician's brain is not a boxer's brain!

i dont know about manny entering politics..but that is his business. That only shows how noble and wide ranging his ambitions are. there's no reason to find fault in his affairs outside of boxing when he has his best intentions at heart. Let's give manny some credit for what he has done for the country, there will never be another like him who has taken great strides to put our nation in the spotlight for the rest of the world....needless to say the honor he brought to the country is comparable to that of our gallant heroes.

Indeed, we know how Manny  works for his job but where the hell will he put himself in politics?!?!
i storngly am worried about  this issue. I hope it's not true that he will really be running as a political candidate in saranggani province.
I just do know how politicians round a dice in politics. I don't want manny to be tied up with such dirty task of helping people.

iT'S a BIG NO since he's not qualified to do so and if he really wants to help the Filipinos most especially to his townmates  and nationwide create a company that brances out from Aparri to Jolo and help the some Filipinos who are qualified to be employed in his own company that will do better than getting into politics.  POPULARITY IS NOT ALL POLITICS. He's only being used by some old politicians that use him  as a come on due to his popularity to their party in the next coming elections.

Boxing also is not a simple game, if PACMAN made it and became number one pound for pound boxer in the world why he could not be able to do it in politics?
#60 | 21 days ago

NO.. pls don't let urself be used by "trapos" for that is the real reason why these politicians want you to join them...make use of your popularity specially with the masa & also your money...Aling Dionisia is more perceptive of other peoples' motives in trying to be closer to Manny..where were they when he was a nobody? human nature notwithstanding..you wouldn't want to find yourself being made into a laughing stock now would you?...if you really want to help the Pilipinos your life story of perseverance to rise from poverty to where you are now should inspire them to do likewise...& that's help enough I think..
