I know the original authorship of Housr of the Rising Sun may not really be known, but isn't the famous version by the Animals considered a cover of Dylan?

I also like Clapton's version of Lay Lady Lay.

The oldest known existing recording is by versatile Appalachian artists Clarence "Tom" Ashley and Gwen Foster and was made in 1933. Ashley said he had learned it from his grandfather, Enoch Ashley. Alger "Texas" Alexander's The Risin' Sun, which was recorded in 1928, is sometimes mentioned as the first recording, but this is a completely different song. The Callahan Brothers recorded the song in 1934.

Regarding House of the Rising Sun or the Rising Sun Blues- Georgia Bell Turner, [later Georgia Bell Turner-Connelly] recorded what is considered the most definative and influential arrangement of that folk-blues standard and is the only person who ever received a writer's royalty for that song; Ditto on Hendrix and I also love what Rage did.

Due to being called out in the original part of the poll I shall not comment.

Except to point out that Dylan would have done an AWESOME cover of Copacabana.

I agreee that Dylan is the most successfully covered artist of all-time.  My 'others' include 'Don't Think Twice' by Wonder Who (actually the Four Seasons), and the Turtles version of 'It Ain't Me, Babe'

Honorable mention to, well, all of the above, but especially 'Shelter From The Storm', and 'One More Cup Of Coffee'

I liked the songs sung by Dylan the best.He just has a way of wrapping the words into a slightly twangy sound, as you really understand what he's saying.
