Cards-Steelers.  Two weeks of Kurt Warner's inspirational rise from the 10 items or less line shoved down my throat.  Awesome.  I can't wait.

I hope the Steelers go Super Bowl XXII on them and it's 35-10 at Halftime.

While the steel in pittsburg is running hot with the win over the Ravens.  There are some Cardinals ready to pour some cool water on the steel before they complete the finishing of the VInce Lambardi trophy.  And as we all know, the Cardinals have been more on the side of spoilers then actually rolling over to accept the heresys of the critics.  It has been very much proven that Fitzgerald is having a stellar year of his career.  Warrener is having if not the greatest year ever even more than that which salidified him as a durable  QB in the NFL after his superbowl victory with the rams.  I do honestly believe that from transition to transition, his has yet again proven that he belongs in the NFL  playing at a level that is totally mind mogeling.  Even with Ege running the football as if he has an overwhelming purpose with a massive agenda. Is running the football as he once did as a rookie coming into the league.  It is my belief that if ever there is an episode upon us that surely epidomizes the attributes of David and Goliath.  This is it!!  Now although Pittsburgh have an high powered defense, and they have a durable QB by the name of Big Ben. I definately don't believe that their defense can handle all of the weapons, and the tancity that the New rejuvenated Cardinals are about to bring to the table. Not to meantion that there is a huge question mark on the health condition of Hines Ward! Certainly this will be a matchup, that will linger in the minds of Millions for years, and will be one of the greatest classical matchups that we have wittnessed in a long time.  Kinda like that old Colts and Browns matchup.  But if I was a betting man, and indeed I am not, I would say that the Cardinals will win the game, 35-28.

the worst Kurt Warner lost by in the Super Bowl was 3. 17-14 to New England in 2001. He's in his 3rd Bowl, Big Ben 's 2nd; but i don't know how well Warner can play against Pitt's steel curtain. A little snow and Patriot defense ate him arm alive. Couldn't throw a ball that game. (lost by 40). So i guess it depends on which Kurt Warner steps on the field. Will it be... Work-Around-The-D...-Throw-the-darn-ball Kurt Warner? Or could it be There's a hit-incomplete pass-FUMMMMBLEEEE!!-Another interception Kurt Warner?

Ah, should be a good game.  I know the Steelers have a tough D, but it's mostly a run stop D.  I do think they're susceptible to the pass.  If Flacco would have made some better throws, this would have been a diff game.  Also, they don't have the best receiving corps.  But I know who does!  And they'll be playing them!

Still, I think the Steelers will edge em out.  26-24.

The Steelers can play in any type of weather.  Hell, Ben's first start was down in Miami in the remnants of a hurricane.  Oh, it's also still nice and warm in Pittsburgh during training camp and the first couple exhibition games.  The bottom line is the Cardinals don't have an advantage simply because snow won't be in the forecast.

The defense is what benefits from bad weather. Ben doesn't. So unless Ben performing better than he usually does somehow hurts the Steelers, the Cardinals don't have a chance.

The Steelers don't have anyone who can catch as well as Fitzgerald?  They have this one guy who's in his 11th year in the NFL by the name of Hines Ward, you may have heard of him.  He was kinda the MVP of Super Bowl XL, and is one of the best all-around wide-outs in the league.  Fitzgerald is a beast, but don't discount a guy of Ward's caliber.  The Steelers offense has woken up in the playoffs.  Also, you're forgetting that the Steelers have the #1 defense, which will be a huge challenge for the Cardinals offense.

yes, catch! Fitzgerald can catch was seems to me the most impossible catches that Kurt Warner throws, even if there are LBs all over him. Fitzgerald can jump higher and when you get a ball near his hands, watch out! and right now, i don't care if the Steelers have the "#1 defense", to me, that is almost bs. if the Cardinals can beat the Eagles in the playoffs and make the Super Bowl, i can honestly tell you that the Cardinals can kill the Steelers. sorry dude, but that is how i see everything!

I root for the NFC every year. cardinals by 12.

I think the former steelers offensive coordinator can move the ball agaisnt the best 3-4 in the league.  flags and outs are usually open against a 3-4, and warner is experienced enough to beat the blitz, as he showed us last week.  Fitzgerald is going to be in single coverage (aka open) or double coverage (one of the other two 1000 yard recievers will be open).

I think the Cardinals stragey is simple, get ahead early and force the worse QB (not warner) to throw the ball, make the steeler offense win the game.  They know they cannot win the denfensive battle, so they have to make it an offensive game.

I think the steelers have to play dirty (like always) and try and take out as many players on the cardinals offense as they can.  Its highly unlikly they will get in trouble for it, because the refs know, you can't call personal fould on the steelers.

I'd like to see a new team win the super bowl, though if the steelers win, I will be happy too, because then we can all tell those annoying Dallas and San Fransisco fans to take your "5 RINGS" and stick them where the sun dont shine, because Pittsburgh is obviously the best with 6 rings!

OH damn and all this time I thought it gave the offense an advantage when the defense applies pressure..... ROFLMAO. I am wondering if you watched the game between the the Cardinals and the Eagles. If I am not mistaken the Eagles applied mass pressure on a continous basis and Kurt  Warner performed as a " SEASONED VETERAN" should. Warner and the offense picked apart the Eagles with a game plan of short passes and the running game of James and Hightower while the the Defense did just enough to  save face and give them the chance they needed to prevail. E. James has looked very good over the past 2 games and came just 23 yards( +/- ) from breaking 100 in the last game, HIghtower added into the mix with his bobbing and weaving style of running and provided some key yardage when needed. The Cards do have a running game when they want to have one and if they can keep that mix going between the passing and running game they should edge out the Steelers.

I have mentioned this on other posts and will gladly do so on this one that yes the Steelers have a GREAT Defense but they also are going up against Ken Whisenhunt who if you all forget was their Offensive Coordinator for the last 3 years including their last SB victory, if you don' think that gives him and edge when coaching against them you are kidding yourselves. I will say this though, The Cardinals " MUST" stop the Steelers from getting the "BIG PLAY" which they so often do wether it be on Offense or Defense.

If the game is coached and played like it should be it will make for a pretty damn good show.

Peace to all.

Great analysis, but the Steelers aren't the Eagles!!  As a Cowboys fan, I've payed close attention to the Steelers this season (because they played the entire NFC East) and have to say that NO NFL TEAM had very much success against that defense and the Cardinals ARE NOT a great team- period! They finished the season with a 9-7 record in (possibly) the WORST Division in the NFL (the AFC West ran a close second)- meaning that approximately 66% of their victories came against VERY WEAK competition (they went 6-0 against their Division). It also means that they went 3-7 against the rest of the NFL.  Yes they have played GREAT in the playoffs, but, lets be honest, the got to play 2 of their 3 playoff games at HOME which was a HUGE advantage for them. And, in ALL HONESTY, a 9-7 team SHOULD NOT have Home Field Advantage in ANY playoff game (but that's the way that it worked out for them). I give them all of the accolades in the world for getting where they are now- but the wheels fall off of Cinderellas Horse Drawn Carriage next Sunday!

Theres no agruing with some of those facts Vin. But lets not forget the Eagles defense was ranked 3rd overall in the NFL this year and all be it the Cardinals were ranked 19th over and right now  they do seem to be generating the spark when they need it. Now lets also keep in mind that the Cardinals were ranked 4th overall on offense this year were as the Steelers were ranked 22nd so I think this is going to be a better game than everyones thinks but I am still going to have to go with the Cardinals.

Umm the "HE" you are refering to is a "SHE" just so you know and might I suggest going and seeing a doctor if you are bleeding black and gold as its sound like a very bad thing..ROFLMAO, Just messin with ya.  I will take nothing away from the steelers and ty for being grown up enough to give the Cards their props as they truly gave the "CURTAIN" all they could handle and came very and Mean "VERRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYY CLOSE"  to bringing the trophy to Arizona. Not quite sure what happened to the defense thats stopped Pittsburgh on 6 plays inside the 10 on one drive thanks to an inadvertant running into of the holder." RUNNING INTO THE HOLDER, WTF IS THAT?..LOL". You Steeler fans might want to do whatever you can for Harrison including actaully kissing his  butt because he was the difference maker in the game on that one play at the end of the first half. Might I suggest "ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASSES" as a gift for him...i.e. the punch in the back on a player already down and out of the play.

I guess I did have something else to say after all...ROFLMAO.

okay! okay! i give in! that was a pretty impressive game! both teams did do a good job... even the steelers. i give my regards to them, but the cardinals still made history either way. all i can say are these things: the cardinals will try to do it again this year, so watch out!

and what the HE** were the refs thinking? THAT WAS NOT A FUMBLE!! that, my friends, was an incomplete pass!!! watch the replays! kurt's arm was moving forward when the ball was knocked out. if you don't see that, then y'all are blind!
That's a good girl, j/p.  Oh and you didn't mention cakewalk in your rant about Fitzgerald and Arizona's offense, but you did say "if the Cardinals can beat the Eagles in the playoffs and make the Super Bowl, i can honestly tell you that the Cardinals can kill the Steelers."  That sounded like you were counting your chickens before they hatched, which is never a good thing.

okay, i am a bit ticked off since you called me a "good girl".  i really hate that and saying that kind of stuff wont help very much!
and i dont care about "chickens" because its a game and not everyone can be winners. so yeah, the cards lost... but does that mean the cards are done for? i dont think so, we have next season. but i have to say that i would choose the steelers over a team such as the cowboys or the chiefs or the vikings (i could on) but hey, im a cardinals fan and i root for them no matter what.

Rooting for them is one thing, guaranteeing they can kill a team just because they did it once in the playoffs even though it was a completely different team who is run completely differently, is another thing altogether.  As for next season, they're in trouble if they don't fix that defense.  They were good once they got to the playoffs, but they were lucky to make it to the playoffs with the way they played the last month of the regular season.  You could say they played like the Cardinals in December.  Fortunately for them the rest of the teams in the division had already locked up a losing record.

first off, im not sure if you know, but i tend to say a lot of something called sarcasm just to bring my point around. and second, whatever you say won't make me change my mind. altho i do think the d could do better, we still have another chance for the win. do u agree.... or will your steelers fan obession object to the possibility that the CARDINALS have CHANGED in the past couple years?  you choose.

My Steelers fan obsession...excuse you?  I know the Cardinals have improved.  I am not QUITE that stupid, thank you very much!  All I said is that their D needs some improving with the way they played the last month of the season, and you said you think their D could do better.  I am not trying to change your mind.  We both agreed on that, so there's no reason to take it any further.  Also, I would hardly call what you said 'sarcasm," that sounded like just being full of yourself.

I shouldn't expect someone to tell me that because I'm a Steelers fan, it is going to cloud my judgement.  I assure you that's not the case, and I don't need someone to tell me what you did, regardless of what age they are.  I will ask you not to make remarks like your last sentence in post #80 again.  That seemed like you were making it personal against me, which is against the rules of this site.

Boast proudly Steelers fans, after all you were the favorite going into the game!
Not that  if it was the GIANTS you were playing would have made it any different.

Or would it?

For the record, I moved on 2 days ago when I posted that comment you just replied to.  I'm fine with moving on, ask anyone here, I try to get along with everyone as best I can.
