I have to say right now, YES. As overall probably not. I do feel he has the best hands in the game........

The young man has great moves... catches just about everything throwned to him...has a lot of speed... and is Humble... Nice young man... and I hope that he stays that way... Please keep him in line Dad... Do not let him be like T.O., Pac Man and the other stupid ones who have MESSED UP theirs and their families lives...  I am serious..smile

Yes, but Andre Johnson is a very close second!

After a couple of absolutely beautiful catches against Philly, I don't who else I could vote for.
He seems to pull passes down out of the clouds, between two and three defenders sometimes...

no question that the cards have the best 3 receivers in the league as a unit - Boldin is the better possession type receiver, Fitz the breakaway and Breaston the new kid on the block is learning at the feet of the masters - individually  there may be guys like Steve Smith, Andre or Calvin who may out shine them on a single day but for the season these are the best in football bar none.

Amen precious, in this era of the t.o's and plaxico, all that talent but none above the neck, larry fitzgerald has shown himself to be the best of the best!

I don't know if he's the best - but he was certainly the best last Sunday.

I thought Andre Johnson had a slight edge, but Fitz is on the same level.  You could say either name as an answer to "Who's the best reciever?" and be correct.

This post shows the short memory we have in America. Prior to the playoffs, Fitzgerald was the #2 receiver on his TEAM. Unfortunately, due to his injury, Boldin was taken out on the last drive and he reacted poorly.

The answer is not a Arizona Cardinal. Its probably Reggie Wayne or Andre Johnson. Although I haven't checked, I would bet all their stats are pumped up by dome games. I'd like to see them play in the AFC North or AFC East with all the games outside and 25% of the season in cold, crappy weather.

Fitzgerald is 6'3" 226, runs a 4.46 40 and has the best hands in the league, Santana Moss, Steve Smith, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison all run better routes, are quicker in and out of breaks, but he has the edge over all of them except Smith in YAC, Andre Johnson is 6'2" 232 and faster, but is not quite as good at pluckingcking the ball out of the air, Chris Chambers is smaller 5'11.6" 214 pounds but has a 41" vertical and is his equal in jump ball ability and is just as fast but is not as much a part of the Chargers offense as Fitzgerald is in AZ.

He is just below elite in speed and route running but in all other areas he is an elite receiver, Johnson and Vincent Jackson both have equal potential, but are not quite elite.

Right now he is, but when next season comes around its Andre Johnson or Steve Smith. I gauruntee if one of those two was in fitzgeralds spot, they would be considered the BEST

I say yes for now. I guess he is the flavor of the month, but I have to say he is in the top three. You could probably insert  Fitzgerald, Reggie Wayne or Andre Johnson and have a good arguement for any of the three.
#20 | 308 days ago

I'd say if you're looking at 'right now' as in this season...then yes for sure. Not saying that he hasn't had good seasons before now -- I think this is his 3rd year over 1000 yards and either over or close to 100 receptions. But so many other things go into the 'best receiver' category...will he have a good QB next year that can deliver the ball close enough for those spectacular catches? even though he's a large guy, can his body continue to withstand the aerobatics he has to perform to get to the ball?

He's the best right now, but no telling if he'll be the best ever...but is sure is fun watching him now :)

Calvin Johnson plays for the Lions...and yet look at his numbers...IMO no one is better than Calvin..Andre is second then Fitzy and Moss are very close at third

he's my favorite but andre johnson of the texans has him beat.  andre is just to physical and puts up great, scratch that, amazing numbers. also larry has somewhat of good quarterback throwing to him while andre simply has nothing to work with.

comon, you can't seriously discredit Andre Johnson. he plays for the TEXANS people!! get Kurt Warner to throw to him and another incredibly dynamic receiver to relieve some double coverages and watch what he will do

Spot On, Precious!...I wish more people thought like you!...The nature of the sport should never excuse the absence of social integrity by any player. Players like Owen's, Jones, Burress, Johnson and too many others as well as the owners who employ these idiots are a lot of things but certainly not ambassadors to this great game... Yeah I am sure I'll get PQ'd for this one but it needed to be said...Thanks for taken the lead on this issue, Precious...As for Fitz being one of the best... Collectively there are about 4 or 5 receivers in league who are clearly the elite of the league...and Larry is easily among those in this group!

man, Carolina's Steve Smith is the best.  u guys r still drinkin Fitzgerald Kool-Aid.  "what have u done for me lately"-juice. u 4get about everyone else after one big nite.  u guys must have countless one-nite-stands... Reggie Wayne 3rd, Andre Johnson 4th.  Randy Moss is still the most dangerous thoh, i don't care what it is...and Calvin Johnson doesn't even make this list.  i still haven't mentioned TO, Harrison, Torry Holt.  he's a beast, and a great talent, but he's not even top 10.  and i don't wanna hear cryin about who these guys play for.  they can't help it if their teams suck, yo.  you can go to different teams AND STILL ball out ( i.e. T.O., Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Plaxico, Cris Carter, Jerry Rice, etc.) true elite WRs do this, without complaining about QB or O-Line play.  if u were startin an expansion team, who would u take 1st???  i'm taking Steve Smith all day...

ooohhh... well, yeah thas a good point.  so u're sayin he's not even the best on his team then?  this is like Duper and Clayton back in the day...

On my fantasy football team this season, I had Fitzgerald, Boldin, and Andre Johnson as my starting recievers. The stats on average usually showed that the other two were slightly more consistant than Larry. I woiuld say he had the best performance in the playoffs, but not overall in the NFL and I'm a homer with a biased opinion.

#49 | 307 days ago

He's the best right now because he's still playing.  I'd rank him with Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Steve Smith, or Reggie Wayne.  And a healthy Marques Colston.  That kid has some hands, also.  But I'm also biased because I'm a Saints fan!  But if Fitz continues pulling them down like he has been in the play-offs, Arizona could win it all!

He has the best hands in the league, but isn't the best after the catch. If Braylon Edwards could catch he would be amazing. Andre Johnson is a beast. You also can't forget about T.O. who is great after the catch and Randy Moss.

Case closed. A Cardinal fan says that Fitz is not even the best WR on his team.

I agree - Fitzgerald has been having a great playoff run. Actually, the greatest of all time. But he is not the best WR.
