This is too hard. So many great players here. Even though I still think there are also so many other great players that are unlisted like the great Gre-No-Li, Giuseppe Meazza, Emilio Butragueño, Garrincha, Bobby Moore, Lev Yashin, Mario Kempes, Paolo Rossi, Uwe Seeler, and many other. But of course, if you put all the great players name, the page wont be enough.  So, good job man.

1. Diego Maradona   2. Pelé   3. Ferenc Puskás   4. Alfredo di Stéfano   5. Bobby Charlton   6. George Best   7. Franz Beckenbauer   8. Franco Baresi   9. Paolo Maldini  10. Gerd Müller

Sad to say but David Beckham should not be on this list. Other than that I really like some of the names on here. It took a lot of thinking and I agree with Mr Jayesh it should be top 20.

David Beckham, Edgar Davids and Michael Ballack shouldn't have been here. I really feel that this is unfair for the legends who aren't there in the list, especially the best of all Europe, Duncan Edwards. But among the rest, these are the lucky names. Surely, it should have been the top 20 or so; there are so many more I would have liked to enter.
1. Pelé   2. Diego Maradona   3. Eusébio   4. Eric Cantona   5. Zico   6. Ronaldinho  7. Oliver Kahn  8. Roberto Carlos  9. Paolo Maldini  10. Peter Schmeichel

It is tough when you only know about 1/3 of the players on the list.

Firstly I would say this was a fantastic poll. As this world is full of great players from different continents but my choice of top 10 players are based on contribution or impact as players and also what are his contributions after his retirement. Secondly, a lot players don't belong to called greatest players on earth. Some of them only excel in domestic league but as international players their contribution was limited. Beckham, Veron, Kluivert etc
1. Alfredo di Stéfano   2. Bobby Charlton   3. Diego Maradona   4. Dino Zoff   5. Franco Baresi   6. Franz Beckenbauer   7. Gerd Müller   8. Gordon Banks   9. Michel Platini   10. Pelé

Maybe I was biased to players of my generation... but picking from there is so hard!
1. Alfredo di Stéfano   2. Pelé   3. Zinédine Zidane  4. Patrick Vieira  5. Raúl  6. Diego Maradona   7. Ronaldo  8. Thierry Henry   9. Franz Beckenbauer   10. Dennis Bergkamp

Wow I want them all on my team, what a dazzling array of supreme soccer talent. Way to hard to narrow it down to 10.  A top 20 or 25 might and I mean might be an easier task.

That was fun though

Thanks for the reminders as I had forgotten some of them.

All of them deserve our respect, no doubt about that. But WE, from BRAZIL, used to have players that played for the love of the game, not just trying to be famous or get rich. Pele has never been a love player.
BTW. i missed the best of the best of ALL TIMES: Manoel Garrincha.

Fernanda Sunshine
1. Zico   2. Rivelino   3. Sócrates   4. Cafu   5. Falcăo   6. Rivaldo  7. Roberto Carlos  8. Carlos Alberto   9. Djalma Santos   10. Júnior

Pele is above all the rated number tens, listed by me, so he is someone very special, can not be in the number game, and so also the great  Garrincha,George Best.
It was tough to get the ten of  best, as  all are the best in their own skills of the game.
1. Diego Maradona   2. Raúl  3. Roberto Baggio  4. Ronaldo  5. Ronaldinho  6. Zinédine Zidane  7. Didier Deschamps   8. Sócrates   9. Christian Vieri  10. Oliver Kahn
