How about Terrence Stansbury as an honorable mention for his "Statue of Liberty" 360 in the '84(?) dunk contest. Not an all-time great and shouldn't be in the mix for the title, but still, he was on that second level. The same can be said for Orlando Woolridge and Larry Nance.

It is without a doubt Vincent Lamar Carter.  I have thought about this many of times. How could anyone be better than Air Jordan, Dr.J, or Chocolate Thunder- Well I don't know, but you can ask Vince, since he is the only one to figure it out.

1. Vince Carter
2. Michael Jordan
3. Dominique Wilkins
4. Julius Erving
5. Jason Richardson

He hasn't done anything since he did his little Superman thing. I mean I believe he could've beat Nate Robinson in the last dunk competition and probably should have but 'Nique had the dunks, the height, the flair, the HANG TIME He was the total package!

Air Jordan! What do you think the air stands for

Vince Carter by far and here is why. Vince Carter revolutionized what we call the slam dunk contest today. He went from being one of the illest dunkers in the game to one of the illest ALL TIME. He brought dunks we'd never even imagine he set the bar for what richardson, robinson, mason, smith and all the others who have won after him. If it wasn't for Vince, we wouldn't have video games like STREET BALL that got a lot of their dunks from Half man Half Amazing, surprisingly Vince Carter was firsted dubbed this before the other dude from AND 1. Anyways go Youtube Vince Carters dunk contest back in 02 and you'll see greatness. let me just finish by saying; 360 Against the Grain Windmill, that right there is just INSANE already...

Vince missed a dunk in college (two hand lob) and it was the highlight of Sportscenter and was included in Plays of the week JUMANJI

Dr. J, Dominique, and MJ would put on quite a show.  Not sure who would win, but it would be great.  what would you rather see - a series of choreographed dunks, or the best in-game dunks?

"Oh please",... "King of The basketball Gods,  Michael Jeffrey Jordan, please forgive these blasphemers for what they are bold enough to say in a public forum!" ....."You haven't played in a while so i pray to you not to smite them while they sit smugly at their keyboards and spew what is akin to profanity by using your name in vain!!" They know not what they do!!" ... "In Jordan's name i pray....AMEN!!

Wilkens was all about power dunking. Jordan was all about finess. Carter had both. and he did dunk clean over that 7' 2" ogre in the Olympics.

I could be wrong, but Vince Carter is the king of dunkers, he is better dunker than Michael Jordan, I respect him well.  Carter it is!
