As A Homer, The "Big Unit" Came To Mind But He Would Get The Honorable Mention, Honestly I Would Give The Nod To Curt Schilling Just For "The Bloody Sock"

Sandy Koufax.

**EDIT** Being a Twins fan, the first name that jumped out of my brain was Jack Morris.  I just wanted to show him a little love as well.

Sandy Koufax gets my vote also, although any of these choices would be great picks when they were in their prime. I would love to make up my pitching staff from these guys!  Wow! How do you pick just one?

Even though I'm a life-long Steve Carlton fan, I've gotta go with Koufax, too.  Bob Gibson would be in the Top 3.

This is tough as I can't imagine that guys like Cy Young, Walter Johnson, or Warren Spahn could succeed today. I have no reason to think that but I do. Maybe I've seen Eight Men Out too many times, but I picture the old timers throwing 70 mph junk up to the plate. Maybe they could really bring it, but in my mind they would get shelled today.

You can't really go wrong with most of the guys on this list.  But it's tough not to pick Gibson when he was in his prime.

When they change the size of the mound with you in mind, you're a pretty bad dude.

Bob Gibson, considering he already won games 1 and 4. :)

Observation: The pitchers more recently seem to get more votes as more people remember how they performed.  Pitchers that have
been retired or dead for 40 or more years don't seem to get as many votes, but by the statistics, were the equal or better of today's crop.
I voted for Drysdale, but Koufax actually was a bit sharper when the series was on the line during the '60's.

Sandy Koufax - But I also thought Of Jack Morris since I was actually at the game in 1991 when the threw 10 scoreless innings.  What a bulldog!!!

Since I also like the TWINS so much I just had to bring up LHP "Sweet Music" Frank Viola he played very well in the WS he played in.

Very hard choice between Schilling and Gibson.  I went with Schilling since I saw him pitch and win some tough post season games.
