Whataburger is mostly found through out the southern states,  and is REALLY big in Texas!   I have been to most of the other burger chain places but to me Whataburger tops them all in the Houston area.   They make a bigger burger then most other places and they always taste so fresh.  Every time I go there they have to bring it out to me.  Which I dont mind.  That tells me that they dont leave pre-made burgers ready to go.  I do have a few places I like as well so here is my order :

1) Whatburger
2) Wendys
3) Jack in Box
4) Mc Donalds

I checked off Carl's Jr. as their Western Bacon Burger is great.  But coming in a close second, (sometimes first choice) is In N'Out's
#2 Cheeseburger with fries and a root beer for $5.  Hard to beat!
Carls Jr

For me it's Harvey's when it comes to the chains. While at home it's Hiscock's and while in Toronto it's Johnny's. Both small, independent, family run establishments. My all time fav though is Backyard BBQ! Where the more beer consumed before and during prep and grilling, the better!

Heart Attack Grill in Phoenix, AZ. They have a Quadruple Bypass burger(4 patties and 8 slices of cheese), fries are fried in lard, they sell cigarettes, alcohol, and Jolt Cola. Finally the staff looks like this!

I picked Wendy's for the national chain, but we have two places in town that make better. One is the Torch Bar which has been making the best burger in the city for years, and the second is a local franchise called Haloburger that has been around since the 30's. Anyone who comes to town for the Buick Open has got to try a Torchburger. We also have a pretty d*mn good coney dog with gravy fries too.

I have to settle for Wendy's or homemeade right now because there are no "In n Out's" in Ohio, we're lucky to have Wendys.  It would be a long roadtrip for a burger but it sure would be worth it!!

I choose the burger from our hometown - Wendy's from Columbus, OH USA!  R.I.P. Dave Thomas.
Double w/cheese, mayo, tomato and onion
Reg fries
Small Chocolate Frosty or unsweetened iced tea

Locals make the best burgers, but for the chains and price Wendy's doubles are pretty good. Plus they make them my way.  Culvers butter burgers are also decent.  My wife makes the best burgers.
