Get what he deserved??  No - he should've gotten second.  That was no-fault, hard-nosed racing folks.  And I for one DUG ON IT!

I don't know if I would say he deserved it or not, that is part of racing, clearly Tony got the edge on the outside of Kyle, had he not gone up to try to block Tony I think Kyle would have won the race. But that is the way Kyle races he is aggressive.

Kyle threw 2 blocks on Tony as they came to the finish, no one was going to back off in that situation...glad that no one got hurt. that was a hard crash all the way back through the field.....

This is what racing is all about. Racing hard, to the finish...no fault.

What a finish. this is what fans pay to see...racing to the finish line. The crash was unfortunate, but it is part of racing.
I root for Kyle Busch, and wish he would have won. He was just racing to win.

#6 | 125 days ago

It was Kyle's. It was a normal racing move and not wrong persay, but Kyle gets his adreneline going and makes stupid, stupid moves. He is too much of a loose cannon sometimes. He got too aggressive and forgot sometimes settling for second is better than wrecking your car.
#7 | 125 days ago

It was an unfortunate thing.... Kyle needs to grow up a bit ...... when he really becomes a man he will talk to the media when he has a bad night.  As far as did he deserve it?  NO!  Same thing happened to Carl Edwards at Talladega.... you can block the car behind you once, if you try to block twice you usually end up in the wall.  Smoke, although far from my favorite driver clearly had a fender stuck in and Kyle turned across him.... just racing at restrictor plate tracks... it is what it is!
#8 | 125 days ago

Kyle made a RIGHT hand turn.
#9 | 125 days ago

I cant fault either driver for what happened last night.  Kyle Busch was trying to protect his lead and Tony Stewart was going for the win.  It just so happens that Kyle waited a split second too long to try and hold off Stewart and he didnt have enough room to do so.  Tony had no where to go, Busch got spun and went right into the wall.

One of the things I love about Kyle Busch is his desire to win.  I'd be pissed off too if I was leading a race at Daytona on the last lap and ended up finishing 14th.  As for Smoke, he took the high road after the race by not celebrating at Busch's expense.  It was hard nose racing on both parts, typical at restrictor plate racing

#10 | 125 days ago

If Kyle Busch had been in Stewart's position, he would've done the same thing without thinking twice. Just two tough aggressive racers going for a win. I had no problem with it. I wish Busch would have spoken to TNT though, just to hear what he had to say on the subject, lol. It's tough losing one like that, no doubt.

That was no ones fault. It was Kyle trying to win a race.He should have held his line, and he would have come in 2nd. But, he chose to do what he always does, go balls to the wall for the win. Nothing wrong with that, it just didnt work this time!  As for Kyle talking to the media after that crash,I dont blame him. I was there, that was not only one hit, Kyle was hit 3 different times, all at top speed, and then he received some extremely loud and very tacky booing as he got out of his car. Although he walked away, and didnt want to go to the care center, my guess is that his bell was rung pretty loudly, and the last thing he wanted was a mic in his face.

I will say this to all the haters.....I am not his fan, but I was ashamed at the reaction he received after such a hard scary crash. WTF is wrong with you people???

My hat comes off for Kyle.
In the words of "The Intimidator"
"Second place is just the first loser"
I wonder if that was what Kyle was thinking? I bet it was.

If you remember, the best racers always have a fans that will heckle them at every opportunity.  It doesn't matter if it's after an accident, after a win or when they are passed by another driver.  Some names that come to mind; Dale Earnhardt and Jeff Gordon.  Fans can be brutal and while I don't condone their behavior, Kyle is not the first driver that received that type of treatment from the fans.

Kyle only knows one way and that is do whatever it takes to win and finishing second is not an option.  It is what makes him a great driver.... that being said... he will end up in the wall and he will put his share of people into the wall..... it's the way it is....  but you are being paid millions of dollars to race and represent your sponsors, you need to talk to the media.......

While I understand that booing is part of it all, (I have been around a long time), the effect you all got on TV was probably not as loud, and nasty as it was in person! That wreck was hellacious, and dont know whether yall saw Allmendinger laying on the ground, or the absolute carnage the other cars became.....however, because Kyle has had temper tantrums and not talked to the media before, it is automatically assumed he was just pouting afterwards etc.  JMHO, but I have a feelong he was feeling pretty rough after that, and I know when I get hurt, I dont want anyone in my face!!

I have pictures, and they will be on my page about mid week..they tell a little different story!

Just saying...

Just saying...... contrast Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards....... Carl Edwards nearly flew into the stands took several hard hits from the fence/retaining wall/flipping.... etc... etc..... walked across the finish line just like Kyle did and did gave a great interview afterwards.

I have to say, although I love to hate Kyle Busch - I find myself liking him more and more because of his intensity and lack of political correctness.

I still say - if you can walk across the finish line and refuse care in the infield care center, you can take 30 seconds to talk to the media.....

Just a little tidbit of info from the JD Gibbs camp," Kyle has been under observation for the past 48 hours, he took some hard hits, and we are trying to make sure there are no after effects."

So, to those judging him on his prior actions, everything is not cut and dried....He is not Carl Edwards, his crash was different, and no one is in his body to make a decision of whether he was capable of talking to the media.  Everyone b*tches when he talks, and says cocky things, everyone b*tches when he doesnt talk.  Maybe he wasnt capable, and just maybe , he felt like it wouldnt be to his benefit to speak in the heat of the moment.
Damned if ya do., and damned if ya dont. All I can say, is it was a helluva race, and I congratulate Shrub for his drive and determination, and hope he heals quickly!

I watched the replay 3 times , just a racing restrictor plate thing but , Kyle pretty much caused the wreck by blocking inexperiance
#25 | 122 days ago

I'm just glad no-one was seriously hurt...whilst this wreck was just really a racing incident as was the one at Talladega we're just lucky no-one was killed. The way Kyle headed to the barriers and two of his wheels came up I could have sworn he was going to flip just like Carl did and he was going to test out the catch fence. Fortunately this time his car stayed near enough on the ground but we may not be so lucky when we get to Talladega in the chase. I really can't say I blame Kyle though it must be unbelievably tough when you're involved in a wreck like that and to compare him to Carl is a bit harsh on him. Carl is the best speaker of the drivers and the most charasmatic, and whilst Kyle is a top driver his media skills aren't as good as Carl. I'll say it once more though thank God no-one was killed
#26 | 122 days ago

Once again he acted like a snot nose brat when he got out of the car , hopefull soon , he will stop acting like a 12 year old
#27 | 122 days ago

It was no one's fault. That is what we call racing.
#28 | 122 days ago

Nascar mandates that the drivers make themselves available to the media.  It may not apply to the drivers outside the top 5 however Kyle has scooted on interviews when he has finished second.  He should take a lesson from the late, great Dale Earnhardt... he always had something to say to the media and enjoyed making reporters look dumb if the dared ask a bad question.  Kyle is a kid and has a lot to learn.  Don't be so fast to defend all his actions.  He is an incredible talent and while I don't consider him one of my favorite drivers I do really enjoy watching him race, especially when his car is anywhere close to good enough to get to the front.
#29 | 120 days ago

It was strictly a racing thing...had Kyle held his line he could have won the race, most likely he would have finished second.  In the Q&A with Smoke the question was asked what kind of driver would he want to hire...his response was "Someone who would be willing to wreck him going for the win"....kind of interesting how things turned out!!!

Did anyone see the interview Kyle gave yesterday?  I was watching Sportscenter and they showed a clip with Kyle basically saying that Smoke "dumped" him!  I had to laugh, he was still so angry about the whole situation.  I'm not sure how you can watch that replay and not see that he turned across Stewart's nose...... I think it will be fun to watch what he does in Chicago this weekend.... do you think Smoke will end up in the wall?  I'm guessing there is a good chance!

Take all my comments for my opinion.... neither of these drivers are my favorites so it is fun for me to watch Kyle's whole attititude towards the accident......

I beg to differ here..Sr declined many an interview after losses, and could be just as rude if not ruder than Kyle!

There are many clips out there..seek and you will find!

As for Smoke ending up in the wall, the fines for retaliation are stiff, and I am thinking even Kyle isnt that dumb!

That is precisely why he is going to keep the villian status the rest of his career. He needs to grow up and quick. Tony used  to do the same things, but he realized fast that you have to admit when you're wrong. If Tony wrecked Kyle, he would have said so and apologized. Besides, how can you dump someone when you are on their quaterpanel without wrecking yourself?

Deserved is subjective, however block me once shame on me, block me twice shame on you. And if you are going to block, make sure you can do it cleanly, if you can't it's on you with respect to the outcome. You can be assured, if the roles were reversed he would have done the same thing.

#41 | 119 days ago

it was a clean block. Kyle needs to look in mirror and he would have known the best driver was behind him...
#42 | 119 days ago

Kyle did what any driver on the last lap would do, block to keep the lead. So my friends that is racing. It would have been the same thing if Tony was leading and Kyle was trying to pass!

If it was a clean block, he would not have gone face first into the wall. Personally, hindsight is 20/20, the smart thing, if he had maintained his line instead of trying to block, he may have pulled it out. Worse case scenario he finishes 2nd and not having a car destroyed and losing valuable points. But when you have the checkers or wreckers mentality, most often it ends up wreckers.

I am not a fan of poor sportsmanship and Kyle has been getting a little too big for his britches. Everyone wants to do their best but that doesnt mean you do it at the expense of someone else.
#53 | 113 days ago

What Kyle did was legal, wether you like him or not he did what ANY normal driver would have done, Stew-rat would have done the same thing if he was in Kyle's position. Do you remember when Vickers did that to Jr. a while back?...........of course you do because it involved Jr. Totally legal and after the race the interviewed Jr. (When don't they?) Jr. had said that Brian did what he had to do and that he himself would have done the same thing, racing is racing.

The drivers race safely don't be aggressive, and the fans complain they want more racing more bangin and bashin, so the drivers do and fans bi**h about that too!
