The State of California is in bankruptcy financially (and morally....BADUM TISH!) and now they have this little bill to deal with.  MJ was buried in a $25,000 casket and his trademark white glove, a glove covered in Swarovski crystals and who knows how much that thing cost.  His albums are selling like crazy since his death and the Jackson family is loaded.  I am sorry, send them or his estate the bill, not the tax paying citizens of California.

No way!  The family or estate is responsible.  Let them sell some of his collections or better yet sit back and let the money roll in now.  The man is going to be worth more dead than he was alive!

It's the family's bill all the way. I didn't see any goverment stepping up to pay for my dad's funeral...and if they we're going to, I would have ordered the platinum casket...

This could only even be considered by the State of California.  And everyone wonders how they ended up in all this debt, heh heh heh....

You can't tell me that all the other Jackson's can't come up with $1.4 million dollars !!!!! News flash - They should of RECYCLED him !! I know  I'm going to get PQed I don't care - he wasn't my relation, just someone who sang good songs!!! The family should take care of their own business which is MJ's bills!!! I strongly agree with Mooser !!!!
#8 | 1894 days ago

not a problem.........the Jackson`s take "plastic" right???

I think the family will make enough money from his death to handle whatever funeral expenses may have accrued...
52
#12 | 1894 days ago

The family should definitely pay for it. When I go, I will be buried in what is called a "paupers" grave. I have no family who will pay for a coffin, a plot, a headstone, or even a wake. And, to be honest, I don't care. They treated me like s*&t while I am alive, don't pretend they care when I am gone!
69
#13 | 1894 days ago

That's a negative.  That's the family's responsibility.  If they were poor, I have no problem helping out.  They (the Jackson family) are very wealthy.  The security should also be paid for by the family.  Since his music is selling, some of that money could pay for the funeral and I'm sure someone had some life insurance.

Yeah---another poll to rip on California.

Of course it is the family's responsibility. They shut down two major freeways in Los Angeles just to allow MJ's motorcade easy travel. They staffed a bunch of extra police. When my family buried my dad, WE had to pay for the motorcycle cops to lead us to the burial site---should be the same with Jackson.

I will say this the nicest way I know how.... MJ did not do anything to that little boy, it was about money do your research and you will find that the little boy came forward and said MJ never touched him... his problem was he never had a childhood, he was a big kid at heart not a pedophile! For the record I would be sitting in Jail on death row if anyone "molested" my child I gives a damn who it is and how much money they have! The parent's took money from him... please tell me why? what in the hell does money have to do with someone molesting your child? Please think about that before you go pissing on anyones grave!!! That is absolutely the worst thing I have heard in a long time.....

Getting back to the question....... I think that the family should pay for it MJ is no one else's responsibility!

welll,  holy crap, didn't the tickets to his memorial/funeral get sold for money???   I think it was a production company that put on the show, if I'm not mistaken-- these guys should at least help foot the bill for his memorial  concert  ceremony IMO....

Let's put it this way... until we have proof and all the facts we should not Judge people, he was taken through so much HELL all because he looked different (he looked rather f___d up if you ask me) but...... with all the money involved I just find it hard to believe, if someone was ruining my career (trying to) i would pay there asses off too! He did have the money that is for sure, it was easier I guess. He wanted to be left alone!!! Think about this way, why on earth would a parent send a child to his house after he was accused of molesting a child before and then take him to court, then take his money! A real parent who wasn't about the money would have seen it to the end and made sure his ass sat in jail until his D__ fell off!!!!! But that is just my opinion.. I just don't think the Piss part is necessary dear, don't be that way!! MUAH! IT'S ALL IN LOVE...  DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL AND I WON'T EITHER!! BUT NO PEEING!!!!!!

Not necessarily.  If a Defense Attorney advises someone that a settlement would "definately" bring them more in the way of restitution (finanacially), it wouldn't "necessarily" be a bad idea to not stick to the idea of dragging your child through a very lengthy court process, probably force him into taking the stand and recount what happened, IN PUBLIC, and than watch him/her grow up being "one of the victims of _____."

On the contrary, if one is innocent and desires to be forever known as being such, it is his/her responsibility to fight any allegations.

Especially if your rich and can afford to do so easily.
Even more especially if you supposedly have "State of Art" surveillance cameras and technology on the premises in question.

Still amazes me that not a single supporter of Jackson has come forth with even one glimpse taken from the Neverland Ranch Surveillance Systems .... do they not record??

I think even the MODS agree with you on this one BIG GUY!!

I know it's just that ridiculous!! God knows that their close friends gave them money...Liz Taylor,Smoky Robinson.Chucky,Pee Wee...
I think I would of taken the coffin to the local pawn shop-No Cash for Gold!!! I would of taken MJ's body out 1st since they don't take plastic ! If he would of learnt how to save his money instead of used it for Monkey Butt powder.By the way that's a real product !!! He should of already had his funeral paid for before he died - a plastic recycling bin !
#52 | 1892 days ago

I think the family of the diseased should be handling it. We as a family have been doing it and we are in a much lower income level then MJ of course my sister did not have a 25,000 casket. I would hope that people would realize that flashy casket and his funeral did not bring him any more peace then if they would have just held a private service which they could afford.

(Edited by vindog)
I'm positive that this will bring plenty of PQ's- but honestly- I could care less. Funerals (IMHO) are a huge waste of money and in alot of cases are a BIG financial burden on the families of the deceased! I understand that people want to honor their loved ones who have passed away, but is it really necessary to spend enormous amounts of money to do so??? I mean, lets be honest here, lots of cash goes into a funeral with the casket and headstones and flowers and rented suits, etc, etc; just to bury all of that into the earth and never see it again- I find it truly wasteful. What is wrong with everybody getting together somewhere (at someones house or a bar or wherever), saying whatever they need to say, toasting to whatever they need to toast to, and cremating the body- saving all the "horse and pony show" hoopla that goes into these things? After all- the person is DEAD and is never coming back- PERIOD!!!  Anyway, sorry for rambling on about this, but I feel this needed to be said as a different viewpoint of funerals.  So to answer the question- if I feel this way about the "funeral fiasco" that we go through with our own loved ones- how do you actually think I feel about handing out cash to bury somebody whom has never been a personal acquaintance of mine??? LOL
77
#54 | 1891 days ago

Vindog we truly agree with you.We had our last 6 family members cremated & we buried them ourselves. We saved money & that left us with money to be spent on the head stones. We have a dear friend that's a minister he does our services for free.Your loved ones knew how much you cared for them - no amount of money spent will bring them back.

No one should pay for his debt his family and estate should pay for it all why should tax payers go and spend their hard earn money on some one that they didn't really know and not in the family. We had to bury my father our family paid for all. I didn't mind his songs but didn't like him personally
