If Prince had his batting average up a bit more this might be a legit debate.  But he doesn't and it should be Pujols running away.

Lee is the only bright spot for the Cubs this year. He should be in the top 5, but won't beat out Hanley or Pujols for the MVP award.

The loss of Votto took the Reds from contender to pretender (read, DEAD LAST) in a hurry! After his return, they made a valiant effort to overtake Milwaukee & Chicago, but came up short. Isn't that the very definition of "valuable"?

Pujols is the bes player in baseball and this year he took his team to the playoffs. Fielder had a great year too, but the Brewers didnt do anything so he is second. Howard always seems to step it up when he has to, so I will give him credit for that. If the Padres had any kind of decent team,  I mightve given it to Gonzales, he had a heck of year(especially against the Cubs!)

Adam Dunn, he of the 1.1 WAR (good for 24th amongst qualified NL outfielders, behind such standouts as Colby Rasmus, Randy Winn, and Skip Schumaker; the number follows, of course, from his defensive butchery, which was, as ever, epically, historically, almost indescribably bad) got a first-place vote!  I see that it came from a Nats fan, and I suppose it's a permissible bit of homerism, but it still shocks the conscience.
