"You could tell he (President Ronald Reagan) was an old radio guy. He never once looked at the television monitor."

"I think it's the greatest shot in the arm baseball could get. Once upon a time, all kids wanted to be baseball players, but nowadays a young kid dreams about playing basketball or football and making millions. I think it's great to see a man (Michael Jordan) who has reached the pinnacle of his career, and now he wants to go back and do what he wanted to do as a kid - play baseball."

"I would always sing it (Take Me Out To The Ball Game), because I think it's the only song I knew the words to!"

I always liked to hear him say 'Holy Cow!', 'cause you just knew something cool was happeing, but I never liked to hear him talk a lot after the middle of the 7th inning, he was usually hammered by then and I couldn't really understand what he was saying...

I don't have a specific favorite, per se, but this will ferrell bit is probably his best from SNL:

YOU CANT WIN A GAME WITHOUT SCORING SOME RUNS, DUH !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harry was definitely something else!  You should have heard our local radio after Marge Schott died.  They had all kinds of skits about Marge and Harry - funny as hell!!!  They used a lot of his quotes.

Often when I'm at a game I'll find myself saying "Let's get some runs!" at the end of singing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" as he often did (since the Cubs were often trailing!) It was thanks to Cubs game on WGN, in addition to the Braves games on TBS, that I got hooked on watching baseball as a teenager in the late 80s/early 90s.

The best quote he ever had is ancedotal and has been credited to others including Dizzy Dean, but I'm sharing it here... The camera focused on a couple in the stands and out comes this line:

“They’ve got a great system worked out, he kisses her on the strikes, and she kisses him on the balls.”

Jason, that is classic!!!  I hadn't heard that one - unbelievable.  LMFAO  He definitely had some good ones, even when he was s**t faced!

His home run call is a classic:  'It might be!  It could be!  It is!'

I LIKE WHEN HE COUNTED RIGHT BEFORE THEY DID THE SONG DURING THE 7TH INNING STRETCH.
