I'm not a fan of scary movies, they truly scare the crap out of me! I know they're just on TV, but something about those characters spook me, I have nightmares for days. So, I'm not a fan.    Good poll, Jenn!

All of the above mostly... Grew up idolizing Jason,Freddy,M.Meyers, and Pinhead. Chucky and Leprechaun were also cool, just didn't care much for Saw after the first one or two..

I grew up watching scary movies with my grandmother.  The classics : Pyscho, Birds etc.

Plus I grew up watching : Jason, Freddy (one of my Fav), although I am scared out of my wits I have to give props and respect to my favorite authors creation : Pennywise! -  That freaking clown scared me more than anything.  But I still watch it.  and you would think I would be scared of the spider at the end of the movie because I hate spiders.

[Pennywise's face begins changing from a smile to a frown] Ohh yes... They Float Georgie... They Float... and when your down here, with me... YOU FLOAT TOO!
[Pennywise grabs Georgie's arm and pulls him toward the storm drain]

Don't you watch Politicians giving speech on TV. Chilling wave of shivering moves around body to see them telling lies with smile.

I've always found him to be the scariest of any horror movie villain.  Aliens, monsters, ghosts, ghouls ... they don't scare me.  The idea of just some crazy dude in a blank white mask watching you, following you, stalking you and trying to kill you for NO apparent reason is terrifying to me.

Scary movies are my favorite. The best scary movie is (the original)"Texas Chainsaw Massacre", in my opinion. Has anyone seen "Motel Hell"? That was pretty good. Another favorite is "Street Trash". For a really gory movie, try "Demons". I even liked "Pumpkinhead".

Freddie was always my favorite, I thought those movies had a twisted humor to them.
Also, love the Saw flicks, that is some serious twisted stuff!!

Vincent Price played Dr. Phibes.  Obviously, well before your time! LMAO  When the Phibes movies came out they showed the most unusual ways to kill a person i'd never seen in the movies before - and I was a huge horror film buff back then (1971 & 1972).  I was still in high school!

I love October attributed to the fact that this is the month when "hidden gems" of the horror movie genre tend to surface.  I was fortunate enough to watch this Stephen King classic last night:

Pinhead (Hellraiser)
#45 | 36 days ago

The scariest guy is the one who looks so deceivingly innocent that he can't possibly be a monster.  Hannibal Lector and Norman Bates fit that description.

All of us have villain in us, civil society with rule of laws see to it that the villain is controlled, but not a deterrent. A good person can be a villain, a seemingly villain may turn out to be good. It is all in perceptions.
