Covering all the bases from a Sunday in baseball ...
AL 24, NL 18 Shouldn't be much of a surprise, as it's not any secret the American League is a notch above.
Andruw Jones K's 5 times Bos 6, Atl 3 How bad of a day is that? Andruw is just the 4th player in the last 50 years to go 0-5 with 5 strikeouts. Recently moved down to the 6th spot in the order, batting .212, can we label Jones one of the biggest duds of the year? And if you ask him about it, he'll say 'it ain't no big deal.' (Talking Chop)
Yankees salvage ... something Yanks 6, Mets 2 Heading into another series against the Red Sox, Joe Torre needed a win Sunday night. He got one from a fairly unlikely source, rookie Tyler Clippard. I've putting Baseball Prospectus to work this year just keeping up with the Yankees next starter. As I mentioned over the weekend, I have a hard time believing Steinbrenner will be able to handle the upcoming week of losses. (Times)
They should play for the title of Los Angeles Angels 4, Dodgers 1 Literally. I say these two should spice up the series a bit more and allow the winner to shred the "of" portion of the name. After a sweep it's now the Los Angeles Dodgers of Chavez Ravine. (LA Times)
Feel free to share your thoughts on the results of Interleague Play this weekend.
