I don't think you can really go wrong here, it's a matter of how the Trailblazers would like to play for the next 10 years. The media has made it seem obvious that the choice is Durant, but a day after the opinions seems to be fairly split around the web.
The Big Lead is confident the choice will be Durant ...
We’re all for hearing about potential trades, but as of right now, the Trail Blazers have plenty of centers, including last year’s No. 1 pick, LaMarcus Aldridge. Plus Zach Randolph, one of the league’s best power forwards. He’s got an attitude and an $80 million contract. That’s your starting frontcourt. The Oregonian thinks Pritchard is more of a Durant guy ...
BlazersBlog wonders why there's any debate ...Personally, I have always felt Pritchard is a Durant guy. He's never said it directly, but in passing conversations throughout the year, I got that drift. Pritchard said he has watched both Oden and Durant "multiple times" this season in person. At the same time, Pritchard puts a lot of stock in his upbringing in the Spurs organization, and likes to reference how San Antonio was built. He noted that the possibility of an Oden/Aldridge front line reminded him of a famously successful duo in San Antonio called Duncan and Robinson.
They are drafting Greg Oden. Let's just be clear about that right now. I love Kevin Durant, but they're not passing on the best center to enter the draft in decades.Chris Ekstrand says Oden sets the stage for many title runs ...
Elite NBA teams have a rotation of at least three quality big men. With Oden, Zach Randolph and LaMarcus Aldridge, the Blazers have arrived. It's amazing how far Portland has come in two years: top rookie Brandon Roy and Aldridge last year and now Oden. With that core in place, Oden can concentrate his energies on defensive rebounding and shot-blocking.Have at it, Oden or Durant. Who's the choice?
