HORSE RACING: "SEA THE STARS" IS THE GREATEST RACEHORSE IN THE WORLD!!!!!

Sunday, October 3rd, 2009 -------------------------- OMG... WHAT AN OUTSTANDING RIDE by veteran jockey Mick Kinane. Gotta give credit where credit is due; in a 20-horse pack, Kinane kept his cool, and rode to an AMAZING VICTORY!!!!!!!!!! I've NEVER watched a more thrilling, more nail-biting race in my life!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo-HOO... On to the BREEDERS CUP CLASSIC in Santa Anita, Nov 7? What an INCREDIBLE race!!!!!!!!!!!!!Keep your eye on the jockey (Mick Kinane) in the yellow silks. Watch how he carefully picks his way through the middle of the 20-horse pack, where he was boxed in - to win this amazing race. Kudos to veteran jockey Mick Kinane for keeping his cool in an OUTSTANDING RIDE and am AMAZING victory. I get goosebumps watching this race!!!

Great race and fantastic horse.  Hope to see Sea The Stars in the Breeder's Cup Classic next month.  Rachel Alexandra's owners should try to get breeding rights to this horse...

@Twilight

As much as I would love to see Sea The Stars race at Santa Anita for the Breeders Cup Classic, it isn't likely to happen ;-(  The BCC is Nov 7 - and while I think Sea The Stars would run circles around our North American horses, I don't think that's enough time for trainer John Oxx to get STS ready and prepped. There's also the issue of climate; as jockey Mick Kinane said, he (STS) is just beginning to get his "rug on" (meaning his winter coat), and the travelling and heat would not be in his favour.

Sea The Stars with trainer John OxxJohn Oxx (Sea The Stars' trainer): "There has been no decision yet.  We will let the dust settle and it will probably be the end of next week before we know any more.  He has done all we can ask of him.  The Breeders' Cup isn't until November 7 and you have to wonder if it would be fair to him, and what would be gained by it.  He is in such great shape that he probably could carry on, but you have to wonder if it would be right to ask him."

Gotta love a trainer who puts his horse first, before profit!!

European racing is so much different from North American - and  therein lies the problem; we do not have a level playing field in terms of surface (synthetic vs turf) and climate, and then there's the drug problem which undermines American horse racing: until American racing is drug and dirt free, it can be discounted in terms of contemporary claims to greatness.

My guess is perhaps Sea The Stars' owner, young 27 yr old Christopher Tsui, is thinking maybe the Japan Classic

In any case, Sea The Stars is a shoe-in for the prestigious Cartier Award as he is so far ahead and so outclassed every horse in his field

Perhaps even the winner for Eclipse Award as Horse of the Year?

He sure gets my vote!
