Well, a day after taking in the fact that the Indiana Pacers will be doing the same thing that I will be doing this spring/summer-- watching the NBA playoffs from the couch-- I kinda reflected back on...  Read More »

Yep, if you haven't heard, the improbable happened again in the NFL-- SB XLII was won by the NY Giants 17-14 over the ready-to-be-coronated, perfect season having New England Patriots.  So much f...  Read More »

I read an interesting article in the Indiana Business Journal that came across my view a couple of days ago, and it had to do with the business state of the Indiana Pacers.  Interesting stuff, an...  Read More »

About Me

90% Complete Bio
To say I'm a Colts fan is an understatement-- I've watched them move to Indy in 1984, and have been a fan ever since--but I also love following the NBA, NCAABB, NCAAF, and racing too, so I'm probably a true sports fan.... Drop me a line if you want to talk sports, or just to say hey!

Greatest Moment in Sports:When the COLTS finally won a superbowl in Indianapolis-- about freggin' time!
Greatest Event in Sports:The greatest event in sports is the Superbowl. The greatest non-championship sporting event is the Indianapolis 500.
Greatest Athlete of All Time:Michael Jordan-- hated him when he played for the Bulls but he was the complete athlete in many ways.
Greatest Coach of All Time:Wow, that's a tough one.... I can think of several, lets say that.
Most Fanatical Moment:Bought a yellow raincoat pullover that said "STAFF" on the back and snuck into a Colts' game-- had to find a way to make the game!!!!-- walked right onto the RCA dome sidelines, but I left after 5 minutes after getting a little paranoid....
My Sports Superstitions:Never wear your team's jersey for a big game.... in Superbowl XLI I wore a Colts' t-shirt-- anytime I wear a player's jersey my team seems to lose!!! sounds kinda silly but it works for me!
Most Disappointing Sports Moments:The Pacers losing to the Bulls in 7 games at ECF in 1998-- they were winning the whole game until the 4th quarter.... that was hard to take, almost pulling off a monstrous upset
Fantasy Sports I Play:NFL, MLB, NBA, College Football
Fantasy Skill Level:mostly recreational, although I do participate in a NFL keeper league for money though....
Sports I Play:Baseball, Billiards/Pool, Bowling, Darts, Fishing, Football, Softball, Weightlfting, Video Games
Nickname:superdave

Athletes I've Played With/Against:none that I know of.
Career Highlights:a couple of walk-off HRs, many playground clutch plays (like everyone else, right??)
Career Lowlights:oh, I can think of a couple of butt kickings on the diamond I was on the wrong end of--
Sports Injuries:none too serious really-- I've been lucky and durable. a turned ankle and bloody nose are the worst I've experienced.
Games I Usually Attend:Indiana Pacers and Indianapolis Colts games. Occasionally HS Football games too.
Greatest Sporting Event I've Attended:AFC Championship 2006, Indy 500 (several years, including 2007)
Sports Figures from my Hometown:many-- Greg Oden, Mike Conley, Rodney Carney (NBA players),
Most Prized Sports Possessions:well, several, mostly Colts related-- a copy of the original Lucas Oil Stadium blueprints, autographed Manning card,
Sports Trading Cards:Peyton Manning autographed trading card

Favorite Sports Brands:Adidas, Nike, Reebok, New Balance (in this order)
Favorite Ballgame Foods:Nachos, hot dogs, and popcorn and PIZZA....
Beer of Choice:Most of the light beers like Bud Light and Coors Light-- gotta maintain my manly figure (BWAAHAAHAA!!!!) Actually Bud Select is probably my favorite out of them all.
Hottest Athletes:Well, none really. Most of the women in mainstream sports are a little too butch for me.
Ugliest Athletes:A whole lotta ugly in the NBA for sure!
Favorite Sports Announcers:Howard Cossell, Al Michaels, most of the old guys-- and a couple of locals, Skip Leonard (pacers play-by-play) and Bob Lamey (Colts play-by- play).
Least Favorite Sports Announcers:Bryant Gumbel (whoever thought it was a good idea to give him a job there, NFL network!!! Absolutely horrible!)
Favorite Sports "Experts":eh, I take them all with a grain of salt-- most can be hit or miss depending on the source of the story.
Least Favorite Sports "Experts":see above^^
