Having, as ever, too much time on my hands, I calculated the points under the old format, principally so that we might see whether AndiLee would have surmounted the thirteenth spot, given her disinclination to remain there; thanks to ILoveSmoke's missing half of the Chase races, she would have (I would offer my usual disclaimer here, to the effect that that I follow the sport only in order that I should be a well-rounded sports fan and toward fantasy success, having already devoted more words to a NASCAR-related issue than I should have liked, but I have encountered enough stereotype-busting NASCAR followers on the 'Q that I no longer attach any stigma to NASCAR fandom), but only one other significant change would have occurred (GFinn drops from second to tenth despite having scored--and I hope I've this right--more points during the Chase than anyone else [1598, just 24 fewer that Jimmie Johnson in the real thing]; he was well back before the points reset [521 points adrift of first and 520 behind the ultimate winner], although it must be noted that part of that deficit followed from his missing a race, the Chevy Rock & Roll 400, one that, having already locked up a Chase spot, he could skip).
