Seattle Seahawks Scrapbook (NFL)
|
*Almost* everyone who's worn a Seattle jersey. I'm not blind though; The Boz was an idiot and KoRo never redeemed himself in my eyes. I love the Hawks of the past; Dave Krieg, Steve Largent, Jim Zorn, Kenny Easley, Tez, Shawn Springs, Ricky "Running" Watters, Sean Dawkins, Chad Brown, Chris Gray, Mack Strong, Steve Hutchinson, Shaun Alexander, WALTER JONES, Josh Wilson (boo), and yes even Josh Brown...and I think I love all of our guys now...Except maybe Giacomini. Penalty taking jerk.

Why I am a fan:
|
I originally started out as a Colts fan, and have cheered for other teams as I was coming into my own (including the Bengals, Jets, Oilers, Packers...). In junior high though, I started to develop a loyalty to my "home" team, regardless of how bad they were and it's been all Hawks from there.
Plus, being a part of the 12th Man gives Seahawks fans an extra sense of belonging to something very special - it's inspirational.

Favorite Moments:

Of course the win over Carolina resulting in the Halas Hoist.
Every game I've ever been to has been amazing, even when we lose.
Getting to watch Camp Mora for a couple of days was AWESOME. Love muh-bois!

Why I am a fan:
|
I have some former Spokane Chiefs players to thank for making me a Ducks fan. Back in 2002 when they had some of my faves - Cam Severson, Kevin Sawyer, Kurt Sauer, and Coach Mike Babcock I started watching them closely and my loyalty to them was born and remains, even after my Chiefs have since scattered.
|
|
|
Favorite Moments:
|
Sauer's first NHL playoff goal in 2003, their domination of the '03 playoffs before they met the Devils, and of COURSE the entire 2006-2007 season and the Championship series that brought home Lord Stanley

I can't start here without first mentioning Griffeys Jr. and Sr...I even liked A-Rod back then. I love Hernandez, Guti, Ackley, Jaso, Ryan, Saunders, Seagar, Montero, Thames...this team is on the verge of something special, if they can keep it going. Heck, I even like Olivo.

Why I am a fan:
|
Aside from "root-root-root for the home team"? I guess you can say I usually cheer for the underdog and...well....

|
I used to go to games a lot with friends growing up near Spokane - they were some of the most intense, exciting games I've ever been to

Favorite Moments:

Playoffs in 1999 - watching them come off the bus was bittersweet...good because they did so well but not so good because they weren't still there.
Games against EWU were always a blast.

My aunt was a billet for the team when I was in high school...I was introduced to the sport and fell in love the minute I smelled the ice.

Games with my aunt, games with Dan Weaver in the press box (which inspired me to pursue a career in sports), trips to away games and how excited the guys would get when they'd see the distance some of their fans would travel just to watch them play, Cup Champs '90-'91, Hosting the cup in '98, Cup Champs '08

Why I am a fan:
|
The first college football game I ever went to was a WSU game and I was in awe of the stadium...I was excited to watch a "real live" football game and just thrilled to be there. It was the Cougs who inspired me to go to school at WSU.
|
|
|
Favorite Moments:
|
All of the games I've been to have been a blast...and of course the Rose Bowls in '98 and '03 (yea there have been other Bowl games but those were the best)...these last few years have been disheartening; hopefully we can pick it up again!

About Me
100% Complete Bio
I'm Jess, one of the community managers of this awesome site. If you have any questions about the way things work around here, let me know!.......
(Twitter feed may not be suitable for the easily offended)
And find me on facebook!
About me....I get goosebumps for exciting victories and tears for championship defeat (even if it's not my team). I thrive on football and hockey, but I'll watch almost any sport - and give me enough time, I'll be obsessed. I cheer for the underdog if I don't have a set team preference for a specific game - and I'm thrilled when the Cinderella team wins it all (as long as it's not against my team!) Pro-retirement ceremonies are one of the very few things that can make me cry but I always watch them anyway.......
I LOVE road trips and anything outdoorsy. I'm a belly dancer, and enjoy all types from traditional to tribal fusion. I play ice hockey when given the opportunity, and inline when I'm away from the ice. I'm a busy girl, but my idea of a perfect Sunday is spent curled up in an overstuffed chair with sunflower seeds and a cold iced tea or Pepsi, the Q on the laptop, the NFL on from morning through afternoon and the NHL in the evening on a big screen HDTV.

Teams
Jess
Hates
| Dallas Stars | |
| Why I Hate Them: | Not only are they a division rival, so I'm supposed to, but the games against them always get my blood up, rival or not. I don't care much for a lot of their players, and the only fans I've ever had problems with in regards to them being outwardly nasty to me are Dallas fans. I think they have a lot of bandwagon jumpers (why? I don't know...maybe it's a Dallas thing in general). As with all teams, there are fans of the team that I really like; I've just had bad experiences in the past that have left me sour. |
| Players I Hate: | Marty Turco...seriously, how many times can one goalie lift a frickin net on purpose on one game without getting called on it? I think he tries to break his own record EVERY GAME for that crap!...and Billy Guerin when he was there. |
| New England Patriots | |
| Why I Hate Them: | Nah, I don't hate them...but a lot of their fans tick me off. |
| Players I Hate: | None... |
| Pittsburgh Steelers | |
| Why I Hate Them: | I don't really hate the team...they just annoy me and I'm sick of them and some of their fans in general. |
| Players I Hate: | Harrison |
| Dallas Cowboys | |
| Why I Hate Them: | I don't hate them either, but again...most of their fans tick me off. And I think the whole "America's Team" is frickin arrogant and obnoxious. |
| Players I Hate: | None... |
| Washington Huskies | |
| Why I Hate Them: | Because I'm supposed to :D |
| Players I Hate: | None... |
| New York Yankees | |
| Why I Hate Them: | 'Cuz I'm a Mariners fan. And most of the Yankees and their fans are loudmouth a-holes. (For those of you friends of mine that are Yankees fans - love you :D ) |
| Players I Hate: | I hear that Jeter guy's a real d-bag |
