The site has EMPLOYEES. You know, people who want to be paid with real money, so they can pay their bills, like rent, food, heat, etc. With the site growing as it has in the last year and a half, there are more employees needed to keep it running. Do you thing the Power company is going to accept Q Bucks? I don't think so. Where do you think the money is coming from to pay them? The site IS free. You are not required to pay one red cent to use this site, however, if you wish to, you may. I can assure as a VOLUNTEER on the site who does not get paid, and spends around 12 hours a day helping, no one is 'getting rich",The site has EMPLOYEES. I take EXTREME offence to this. I had to write articles without my "magic pencil" for MONTHS before I was accepted as a featured writer. I submitted articles to Pat and Geoff one after the other, and yes, some of them were featured and others JUST WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH! Yes, that's right, there is a guideline. Is it about a sport or team that more than half a dozen member would read? Wanna know how many of my CFL articles have been featured? Not one. I don't give a crap about Auburn, just like you don't give a crap about the CFL, but do you see me whining about not having them featured? No. When you approached me about becoming a Featured Writer, I gave you the info you needed and within a WEEK you were one. In my opinion, you are making yourself look absolutely foolish. And before you start yelling about attacks, I said YOU ARE MAKING YOURSELF LOOK FOOLISH. And you may not like Pat, but I have a huge amount of respect for he and Geoff. They have DEGREES for what they do. They are educated. and they are extremely intelligent. Thank you Lisa, very well said. The PQ button wasn't being used as intended, so it went bye-bye. The smart, funny and bold buttons were great, but many clicked on every single comment their best friend made, again, misusing the buttons. The respect is meant to be used because you find a comment truly worthy. And for the record, when all of you post these comments, and Jess reads them, she IS your liaison to the Powers that be, That's exactly what the Community Manager does!! If you think no one is listening/reading, you're wrong. Jess makes it her business to read all of these polls , most of which are negative. She makes notes on your posts and takes them back to the Powers that be in their brainstorming meetings. Us moderators read as well, but we're volunteers and we're here to try to help you with site problems you might have. We're seeing this for the first time as well, and getting used to it, just as you are. The point is, please keep telling us how you feel, but if you see something you DO like, let us know that as well. I'm not out of respect for the day, having been at work all day, however, Leslie, I gave you respect, AND I'm telling you personally I think your post was excellent. As a moderator, we often hear first hand from the members how much they dislike or even hate something. For every 20 complaints we receive, we might receive one "atta girl" or "WTG". We do pass on your comments, and as Jess said, all of the feedback is being read and considered. The site is always changing, and we aren't even close to finished with the Team Pages. Give us a chance!! As you said Leslie, there were things about Season 1 that we didn't care for, but we figured out how to cope, how to find ways around the parts we didn't like. I prefer to be positive, to look at the glass as half full, rather than half empty. My daughter and I both have chronic asthma and should have been among the first to get the vaccine. Unfortunately, we got the flu first. Luckily, we did exactly what we were told to do, stayed home, forced fluids and took medication for the fever. As I said above, I think the seriousness of the disease has been blown out of proportion. Common sense goes a long way to those who have been sick getting back on their feet. All I can say is, I've had mono and it took me six months to recover. I was, at the time, training for College fast-pitch softball and playing ladies hockey, and I was out of both for the rest of the school year.
