I'm with you. Right now my vote would go to Spiller. He's literally carring his team on his back. Tebow, Colt McCoy, those guys are on loaded teams. I honestly think Golden Tate from ND (which as a Michigan/BC fan I hate) would be a better choice than Tebow or anyone else but Spillers. Tate is the best receiver in the country, gets double teamed all day, and still returns punts and runs the ball. Either of these two should win...but they won't. I just hope the voters don't embarass themselves and give it to Tebow.I'm with you. Right now my vote would go to Spiller. He's literally carring his team on his back. I wasn't necessarily saying I wanted it to happen, just that the rumor was out there. That being said, I'm not sure the defense up the middle would be any worse than the Yankees with Posada/Jeter. I know Jeter won the Gold Glove but even my Yankee fan friends admit that he wasn't the best defensive SS in the AL. His range is not nearly as good as it was. The award has lost alot of credibility. In my opinion if the Sox make the deal, they should forget about Granderson, put Hanley in CF where he belongs and resign Alex Gonzalez to play SS.I wasn't necessarily saying I wanted it to happen, just that the rumor was out there. A wild rumor I heard today was the Red Sox putting together a package including at least Buckholz and Ellsbury for Hanley Ramirez, then making a deal for Granderson at the same time. They are heading in the right direction, but they do need that one "gamebreaker" on offense. And their installing the wildact & now the pistol supports that fact. They have to use gimmicky offenses to produce big plays and sustain drives. Eventually defenses will figure out how to stop those type of things. I think they are closer to having a dominant defense than a legitimate offense. And I think they are better prepared for the future than the Jets and Bills in the East.
