Why I am a fan:
|
As a young boy (about 9 years old) I remember listening to the radio in the morning circa '85 and hearing the name Michael Jordan. I wasn't even a basketball fan yet. So many mornings I would hear Jordan scored 50 points, 40 points, even 60 points. I was curious who he was. I immediately became a fan. I went and bought the Jordan basketball. I started playing. I have been a Bulls fan ever since. I never stopped rooting for this team. I remember the lockout season when the team went 13-37. I was miserable but still a fan. You have to expect down periods as a fan. The reward is greater when your team wins again after a drought. Bandwagon fans never experience that feeling.

Finally beating the Pistons in the 90-91 season in route to their first championship. Beating the Knicks in '93 after Charles Smith missed all those layups. Was he fouled? Knick fans think so. I have a great story about asking Charles Smith face to face if he was fouled or not. I will share at another time.

Why I am a fan:
|
Crazy story. Most people will laugh when reading this. I hated the NFL as a 9 year-old. Reason was I watched a show called Punky Brewster and the AFC games would run long on NBC. While waiting for Punky to start I started to enjoy the AFC games. That same season the Chicago Bears were having their incredible run towards the Super Bowl. I had no knowledge at all about anything. I remember sitting down playing Connect Four with my mom as the Super Bowl was about to start. Bears vs Patriots. I looked up and told my mom whoever wins this game will be my favorite team. I don't even remember much of the game. I was barely watching the game. The Bears won 46-10 and I have been a fan ever since.

Why I am a fan:
|
When I was 11 years old I remember watching college football but not having a team to root for. I was close to being a Notre Dame fan but after learning my mother was born in Alabama, it was an easy choice. I had no knowledge of their history, so I kinda lucked out as a fan.

Favorite Moments:

Beating Miami in the '93 Sugar Bowl to win the National Championship. Beating Tim Tebow in the SEC championship game and then winning the National title again. Manhandling LSU in the rematch to win the National title this past year. I predicted it would happen.

Hates
| New York Knicks | |
| Why I Hate Them: | I think my hatred for the Knicks started in the 90's during those grueling playoff series. I felt Pat Riley basically copied the Pistons style on how to play the Bulls. His only problem was he never had the team the Pistons did during their two championships. Riley was smart enough to know nobody could beat the Bulls running up and down the court. I also feel Riley got certain players like John Starks to overachieve, but in the end got burned by him in game 7 of the '94 finals when he shot 2-17. |
