ROFL.......take a breath...... Mine is just a personal observation and opinion. I got beyond the "player worship" decades ago. Personally, I just take an "old school" perspective towards the team essence of the game. I'll say again--he's an incredible talent; he definitely has the potential to live up to his lofty proclamations; but he won't do it on his own. I neither like, nor dislike him. My bad..... I guess time "blurred" the fact that it was in fact the media that "dubbed" then with the title. Thanks for the reminder. Regardless, I still consider "America's team" to be the one that wins the Lombardi trophy at the end of the season. Personally, I see it as an annually established honour. Damn media.....My bad..... Considering the situation of his 'bench-time', it can not be attributed to any form of humility IMHO. Don't get me wrong, I think VY is an incredible talent--probably the best young talent at his position in the NFL at this time. He's shown he has the physical tools to contribute towards accomplishing his role on the team. However, I've also observed that his mentality is also one solely focused upon the essence of self-accomplishment without the recognition of the other contributing players around him on offense. Perhaps he does recognize his team-mates contributions, but he hasn't shown such. Unfortunately, such a mentality has too oft times established former players as pariahs on their team and what goes on beyond the game-field can have an extreme affect on the field of play over time. He did mention Baronis' kick to put the winning points on the scoreboard (kickers are considered separate entities of the team anyways), but that was preceded by a ranting of "I", "I", "I". When the Titans face a bit of adversity on the field will be a telling time pertaining to the essence of the character of VY. Even so, football is a team sport; if Mr. Young makes it a situation of himself, then the rest of the players, it will not be a good situation. Like I said, he's an incredible talent and definitely has the potential to live up to his lofty proclaimations, but realization and perspective will serve him well with regard to the essence of football as a team sport; and a bit of humility will serve him well with regard to his role at a player on a team.Considering the situation of his 'bench-time', it can not be attributed to any form of humility IMHO. Time will tell, but VY is as cocky as ever--he's already a legend in his own mind. I actually laughed at one of his responses in his post-game interview and shook my head at some of his other commentary. A bit of humility will serve him well.

Without a doubt, it's the Saints. Indianapolis has won too many "pulling the win out of their arse" games this season. Granted, it demonstrates that they are capable of taking any situation and make it a positive outcome, but there have been a few that IMHO have been gift-wrapped for them. Who cares who sells what..... Football is the ultimate contest of team sports. America's team is whichever team claims the championship trophy for the season. It's an annual anointment. I consider such in a literal perception. Unfortunately, the Cowboys shamefully use it as a marketing tactic. Great article with some pinnacle moments in Vikings history. Even so, I would still hold-off on the inclusion of Brett Favre into the top 10 until we see how the rest of the season pans out; we're just over half way through the regular season and although things are looking spectacular right now (I'd go so far as to say "beyond any realistic expectation"), it's still too early to establish any such ranking. Two other signings I would rank above Favre are Alan Page (the anchor for the reign of the Purple People Eaters), and Paul Krause (the individual whom holds an interception record that will likely never be broken). ROFL!!! As a Vikings fan, the two that stand out in my head are drafting Demitrius Underwood in the first round--that kids was a head-case who already said he didn't want to play ball. And of course, the most infamous being the Herschel Walker trade--though I don't know if that was as much of a coaching decision as it was that of an administration. Another one that really bugged me--keeping coach Denny Green, and letting Tony Dungy go to the Bucs.ROFL!!! All rationalizations and denials aside, that was the dumbest coaching decision of the decade..... Of course, there's still the rest of the season for that to change, but not even Vegas will lay odds on that changing.

At least with "Obama-care", an official system will be enacted and can be revised. Trickle-down health care from the insurance industry doesn't work for those who truly need it most. Getting arrested for not having health care will be dropped as soon as companies start raising their health care premiums beyond grasp, and others drop their health care. The economic history will prove that since the essence of "down-sizing" became 'en vogue' back in the 80's. Get you're popcorn and sodas ready kids, this is going to be a corprate versus political versus public circus no one will want to miss!!!! My initial thoughts.... It's a change, and only after a bit of time to adjust will I be able to compare the changes to what I have come to like from season 1. One thing I would like to comment upon initially is the limited focus of the accolades. I definitely understand trying to remove the "negativity" from the accolades system. Even so, I was one that did give out PQ's for statements I considered ignorant, homerish to the level of stupidity, or prejudice. Not having such will definitely fall upon the mods to address certain behaviors from those who come in to troll... I was also one of those who gave a lot of accolade; since coming to the Q, I think my "karma" was somewhere around +2500, so I liked expressing appreciation for intelligent or amusing posts. Limiting the accolades--now that I think of it--could be a positive move as it will require a discerning perception of any recognition, but there is a conflict with one element. "Respect" being the only accolade is extremely limiting. I would personally like to see an additional accolade for humor or wit--similar to, or the re-addition, of "funny". Aside from that, I'll reserve further judgment, except to say I like the addition of the win / loss record for the "pick-em" section--very cool.My initial thoughts.... Well, let's just hope the conservative elements recognize why so many people were vying for change and make any necessary adjustments accordingly.
