Usually it's pretty even...with the east having Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee...and the west having Alabama, Auburn, and LSU. But this year it is waaaay lopsided!. Other than Florida the east has no teams, but time will change like it always does! The spread offense has been around forever, it just was never called the spread. You dont have to have a QB in shotgun to run the "spread", all you have to do is spread the defense out. Heres a lil fact for you.....only two coaches in Auburn history have ever had a winning season their first year at Auburn......Terry Bowden and Gene Chizick...that's pretty impressive when you compare that to coaches like Shug, Dye and Tuberville. Like Captain said the 5-0 start left people with expectations that we could not possibly reach. Had u asked anyone before the season they would have said making a bowl game this year would have been great. We should have beaten Kentucky, but as I said before we don't have talent to match most teams, I think the LSU game showed that, we are playing on emotions, and emotions go up and down..and our season shows that pretty clear, we started 5-0(high emotion)...then went 0-3 (no emotion) now were 2-0 (high emotion again). If I would have told you at the beginning of the season that we had a shot at making the cotton bowl you would have been super excited...and now we have that shot. The offense we are running is very different than anything we are used to, on top of being waaaaaay techinical with numerous formations. Give one year to learn the system, and to get the kinda talent in that we are recruiting.
