All time leader in: strikeouts (5714), no hitters (7), games with ten or more strikeouts (215), games with ten or more strikeouts in a season (23-1973), 300 strikeout seasons (6), lowest average hits per nine innings (6.55), and opponents batting average (.203), and yes walks (2795). He played for 27 seasons, 807 games, 5386 innings, 394 wins, 297 losses, 5714 strikeouts, 3.19 era. Sounds pretty powerful and dominant to me over 27 seasons. I've read this list over and over looking for the name! but it's not there! How the hell do you leave NOLAN RYAN out of your top 20!!?? Nolan is by far the greatest POWER pitcher of all time. GET A CLUE!
I gotta go with a tie between Golden Anniversary and Milwaukees beast. Even ice cold can't help these beers. My best advice is to try beers that originate from within your own watershed area, you might fall in love. I don't care how big a prick he is. He is helping us win championships(that's right, plural), and he's a hall of famer. F..k the rookies is right! The intimidation factor is huge with KG.
I see Hermida as trade bait in a package, maybe for a ss? I think the sox will come to a deal with Bay. (His dad is a lifelong sox fan, Jason had Yaz on his wall as a kid. Those things help!)
JD had and average year for him. Homer average was up by about 5, but overall average for his career. Don't get me wrong he's a good ballplayer, but i think granderson would be an improvement and not wishful thinking, but very do-able. Hanley is NOT one of the worst ss. He was 8th out of 22, gonzo was 6th. Gonzo had a .984 fielding percentage. that's 7 errors in 112 games. Hanley had a .983 percentage. that's 10 errors in 146 games. Go look at the stats arv, It's not wishful thinking, and what I said makes perfect sense. Do some homework before you start dumping on someone.JD had and average year for him. The Red Sox should definitely be in the mix here. Re-sign Bay, lose JD Drew. Bay, Ellsbury, Granderson would be sweet! Oh yeah, get Hanley Ramirez back here too.
sibby, I don't care how old you are or how long you've watched baseball. Gonzo is not the answer at shortstop. Great defense, yes, but we need our ss to have a bat too. This year he was6th in fielding percentage behind rollins, tulowitski, jeter, izturis and scutaro. Not the best, and hes not even in the top 50 ss of all time. He's been around 11yrs and has a .970 fielding percentage. Omar Vizquel is #1all time with .984. I do know what i'm talking about sibby. He's not even close to the best. Hanley ramirez is only 2 behind gonzo this year, BUT, He hits over .300!!!!!sibby, I don't care how old you are or how long you've watched baseball. Gonzo is not the answer at shortstop. Grogan gets and easy number 2 based on heart alone! That guy gave everything, every time. Not to mention he was as cool as brady in the pocket (even though brady has had much better protection).
