That being said, we make sure lights are off, use the new energy saving flourescent bulbs. Wait until we have a full load before washing clothes. Do dishes by hand more. Started a compost pile. Things we ALL should do, but not because some scientist are saying the world is coming to an end! He should have "fixed" it a couple years ago when the announcers started to "jokingly" call players Mr. November. I understand what you are saying, and my scenerio was meant to be over the top. My point was ultimatley it is a team sport and wins can not be tossed out the window. I have seen pitchers suffer from an anemic run production when they pitch, and to me that is where ERA and WHip come into play when evaluating a pitcher. I suppose I am a little more old school when it comes to that, but a winner is a winner, he can find a way. Some pitchers just have a way of grinding through innings keeping their team in the game giving them a chance late in the game. Some pitchers are more concerned about stats and not enough about how to beat the other team. Just an observation is all. There may be some other stat you think are pertinent, but it all comes down to wins and losses. I agree some things like the WHip and ERA are good barameters.
