Say's the guy who's team is playing the powerhouse that is Florida International

Scott commented on Toby Gerhart might deserve the Heisman this year, but does he actually have a chance?
The Heisman award ISNT a career award and it's not suppose to go to the guy who is the biggest winner in college football. The Heisman award is a seasonal award that goes to the best player in college football. McCoy and Tim Tebow are great players,...( more)

Scott commented on Who was the best St. Louis Cardinal pitcher this season?
You couldnt go wrong with picking either Carpenter or Wainwright.  I chose Carpenter because he was the guy who was always able to right the ship when the Cardinals started scuffling.  He also led the NL in ERA, tied for 1st in WHIP and...( more)

Scott commented on Cardinals announce season ticket pricing
Cardinals raise ticket prices?  I'd like to say I'm shocked but let's face it, Cardinal fans will pay whatever after seeing management go all out last year when they added the necessary pieces to make a run deep in the postseason. Besides, we got...( more)

Scott commented on Brewers eyeing Mulder, could pursue Washburn
Rumors are the Cardinals may be interested in Ben Sheets or Eric Bedard.  Both coming off surgeries and would be signings like the Cardinals did a few years back with Matt Clement...which didnt work out as some had envisioned

Scott commented on Matt Holiday: Free Agent at the End of the Season
Less then a day removed from when free agents can start to negotiate with other teams, the Giants and the Angels have already taken there name out of consideration for Holliday.  Call me crazy, but I dont think he'll get anywhere near what Boras...( more)

Scott commented on It's all over, Jimmie Johnson is on the pole, which means he'll be your Sprint Cup Champion again.
I agree... although I think it's safe to say that Kyle Busch is his own worse enemy sometimes. If he could ever get it together for the whole season, he could definitely make a run at Johnson

Scott commented on It's all over, Jimmie Johnson is on the pole, which means he'll be your Sprint Cup Champion again.
Jimmie Johnson and Chad Knaus have the winning formula down to a science.  Put all your resources into the 10 tracks that make up the chase, stay out of trouble and dont make the mistakes that beat yourself.

Scott commented on Toby Gerhart might deserve the Heisman this year, but does he actually have a chance?
If you look at the stats, guys like Toby Gerhardt, Ryan Matthews of Fresno State, Case Keenum of Houston and maybe even Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska or CJ Spiller from Clemson should be on stage at New York.  Unfortunately, they will...( more)

Scott commented on Stefanie Spielman, wife of ex-NFL linebacker Chris Spielman, dies after 12-year battle against Breast Cancer
It always saddens me when the good people in this world are taken well before they should.  I've always enjoyed Chris Spielman for the things he has done on and off the field.  He fought right along side with his wife against this deadly...( more)

Scott commented on If The Heisman Trophy Was Not Ruined.. By the Voters. Then Who'd Win?
I would agree with that. Unfortunately, I've listened to alot of different sports talk radio who think otherwise. They think Tebow is the front runner right now, even though the stats should tell them and everybody otherwise

Scott commented on Week 11 - AFC - Over/Under Poll
The Pats have alot of pent up frustration after what happened with Indy.  I think the Jets are going to be the whipping boys this weekend

Scott commented on Illinois Fighting Illini vs. Presbyterian Blue Hose - Nov. 21
Games like these against lesser teams always scare me because it seems like teams let there guards down, get sloppy and somebody gets hurt as a result.  Let's get the win, do so convincingly and get ready for the next game with everybody intact

Scott commented on Let's See If One Of These Teams Can Prove That They're For Real [Thursday Night NFL Live Thread]
I cant believe there were actually "experts" that picked Carolina to win the NFC South.  Ricky Williams is running thru and over the defense and outside of the last touchdown pass to Steve Smith, Jake Delhomme has been,...( more)

Scott commented on Some of the Best Teams and Some of the Worst Teams Are in Action Tonight [NHL Live Thread]
Eric Johnson goes takes the puck from one end of the rink to the other, 1 on 3, and scores from the slot in overtime to give the Blues a much needed win in OT against Phoenix

Scott commented on Jason Bay will test free agent waters after rejecting Red Sox 4 year, $60 Million offer
The Angels I can see making an offer but not the Dodgers.  They just picked up the option on Manny Ramirez to go along with Kemp and Ethier

Scott commented on Tim Lincecum wins his second Cy Young award in a row. He becomes the first pitcher ever to win Cy Youngs in his first two full seasons in MLB.
Whoever made that argument is wrong because Wainwright led the NL in innings pitched.  What won this Cy Young for Lincecum is the fact that the Cardinal pitchers took enough votes from each other to cancel one another...( more)

Scott commented on If The Heisman Trophy Was Not Ruined.. By the Voters. Then Who'd Win?
If the award went to the player with the best year then we'd see Ryan Matthews, Case Keenum, Toby Gerhart and Ndamukong Suh in New York for the final voting with any guy being deserving.  Instead, we'll probably see...( more)

Scott commented on Tim Lincecum wins his second Cy Young award in a row. He becomes the first pitcher ever to win Cy Youngs in his first two full seasons in MLB.
I knew I expected too much from the Baseball Writers of America to get the voting right 2 times this year.  Tim Lincecum had a good year but IMO, both Adam Wainwright and Chris Carpenter were just a tad bit better

Scott commented on Giants beat writer Henry Schulman is no homer: Why I picked Carpenter over Lincecum for the Cy Young Award.
I have all the respect in the world for writers who actually pay attention to what is going on and dont just vote for there own because they cover them.  Schulman is 100% right in his assessment, this year Carpenter is much more deserving...( more)

Scott commented on Bud Selig says he'll figure out a way to stop playoff games in the winter
IMO, there are too many off days once the postseason starts.  You can run a postseason series just like you can a regular season series.  Play Tuesday/Wednesday, off Thursday and then play Friday/Saturday and Sunday.  For a 7 game...( more)

Scott commented on I suggest Thierry Henry not set foot in Ireland for awhile.
I dont remember seeing a play as blatant but time and time again, crucial calls in critical matches have gone the way of the higher-profile team.  FIFA isnt stupid, they know that bigger nations draw larger audiences and create extra revenue.

Scott commented on Which Defence would you start??
Saints lead the NFL in interceptions and are playing a team with a rookie quarterback.  If the Saints get out to a huge lead and the Bucs are force to pass on every down, the Saints defense could have a field day in terms of sacks and interceptions

Scott commented on How Big Of a Difference Will Jeffery Jordan Make When He Comes Back?
The Illini freshmen look a little timid when Demetri McCamey goes out for extended periods of time.  Jordan can come in, run the offense and help get the ball where it needs to be so guys can score without having to be called upon to score. ...( more)

Scott commented on Jimmie Johnson is about to 4-peat... but does anyone care?
I'm not going to rush out and buy any Jimmie Johnson 4 peat merchandise but I will certainly give credit where credit is due.  Regardless of the current format by which the Sprint Cup operates, winning 4 straight championships is one helluva an...( more)
