Why I am a fan:
|
Grew up in Boston and was a Dead Sox fan growing up, and loved Carlton Fisk, so when he left for White Sox in 1980 i switched my allegiance to Chisox and never changed. I do jump on the Dead Sox bandwagon if the Chisox are not in playoffs.

Carlton Fisk 1st game in a White Sox uniform, It was at Fenway Park against his former team, and in the 8th inning he hit a 3run homer of Bob Stanley to win the game of course I was there.

My favorite is Roger Wherli cornerback #22, I wore his 22 for 20 years playing hockey if someone else had #22 on a team that I got traded to or signed with I would bargain with that guy, 1 year playing in Germany I had to do this guys landry for the whole season for the number, but half way through season he got married and I was of the hook.

Why I am a fan:

When I was just 10 yrs old because they were the Stlouis Cardinals and the word Louis was in it I liked them and that was 1974 and they were pretty good back then, and just never stopped watching them, and am probably the biggest Cardinal fan on the planet even in my years of playing hockey I was still a huge fan and everyone would laugh at me because they stunk, plus me being from New England they would always ask me how am I a Cards fan.
