    About Me:Everyone has a friend that thinks he or she is smarter than everyone else. Everyone also has a friend that really is smarter than everyone else. I am THAT guy. I have my favorite teams, but I am a fan of most sports and believe myself to be pretty objective and realistic in my outlook. I was fortunate enough to spend 20 years in the U. S. Marine Corps. I have been able to travel and live all over the world and have a true appreciation for the entire sporting world. Yes, even Cricket.

    Career Lowlights:Playing on a football team than went winless and really only had a chance to win one game. The rest were blowouts; 70-0, 68-7, you get the picture
    Sports Injuries:I had the Ken Griffey Jr hamstring injury; extremely painful. Tore my achilles. Too many others to even think about.
    Games I Usually Attend:Now that I live outside of DC, I go to Nats games and Caps games. Not a fan of live NBA games, so I don't go. I try to get to Baltimore and NY to see the Royals every year.

    Well, for one we teach them that keeping score and losing don't happen in the real world.  Sure, kids need to be treated differently than adults, but losing can be the best learning experience.
