You have to love the captain.... he is a true class act! I am so glad he will be back, even as a back up to Martinez. Martinez is an excellent teacher however Varitek will be very valuable even if it being with the team every day in practice...... very unselfish of him and a true loyal Boston Red Sox player...... It is hard for me to say much being a Red Sox fan however I do find it obnoxious the amount of money that the Yankees spend. You can argue that they have home grown talent however look over the years at their star players and none of them were home grown other than maybe Jeter. A-Rod, Clemens, Johnny Damon, Texiera... the list goes on and on...... and if you wore a Red Sox uniform and were half ways decent, the Yankees were happy to pay you an astronomically high salary. A salary cap would do baseball well..... People were saying that the rating for this year's World Series were high... I find that hard to believe.... For those of you who don't know Leslie (is that even possible.... she is the Queen of attention whores! Love ya Leslie! hehehe) She is one of the most stand up people on this site. Often times I have had conversations with her in private on issues that she did not agree with but felt that it was better for her not to say anything at all rather than get caught up in a debate that might turn ugly. I agree with you completely... had the referee nipped this situation early, it could have been avoided all together. As a referee, if I didn't want to give out a yellow card for whatever reason, I would have had a stern talking to to the player and warned her if she stepped out of line one more time then the cards would come out. Personally, after seeing the punching incident where she went over the other girls back.... that would have been a straight red card, no hesitation! I would say what is to like about Johnson? He is such a vanilla personality he gives nothing to be excited about. Moss is an awesome WR. He will make a run at Rice but 57 TD's is a lot to achieve. If he can play as long as Jerry Rice did, then he may have a chance. Jason... different time, different place. You can continue to bury your head in the "PC" sand and claim to be so offended by people who voice their opinion about an obvious, growing, problem. If the media didn't bury all the stories about Islamic extremism in the US, you may have another view. Don't forget 9/11.... the guy running over his daughter and his daughter's boyfriend's mother...... the guy at Fort Hood, the guy who ran over a bunch of college students at UNC a couple of years ago. What you don't seem to understand is that there are many, many mosques in this country where there are Imams preaching hatred for everything western. It is a shame that so many people have blinders on the name of political correctness. Are all Muslims extremists? No .... but more and more most extremists are Muslims. I hope that our Country wakes up to the fact that most Muslims leaders despise the western style of life, would like to eliminate it and would like to have young women and women in general kept out of the public eye, not drive, not go to school..... if you think this is not the case, I think you are mistaken. I do not judge any person by the color of their skin or by their religion but by the content of their character. I don't see too many Muslims coming out and crying out about these atrocities.
