Great, so you're saying that the Q is starting to immitate real life? (hot chicks and popular dudes getting all the attention/respect) I go to the internet to escape that reality, and now I just log-in to have a repeat of what I just went through... *sigh* I should bring my old avatar back. j/k I think people just need to get used to having a limited amount of "Respect" to give out, considering everyone before got click-happy and just gave out praise for anything. (ok, really, there was and ARE tons of smart/funny/bold/PQ comments put out daily, I know this, but does everyone need a pat on the back for every keystroke?) It'll take time, but I think most Q'ers will be able to adjust. Then perhaps you need to give your Mom some time to adjust, maybe she needs to do a little growing up herself. Maybe tell her that you really do care about your boyfriend a lot but you understand her stance as your Mother, and ask her if you do as she wishes (not see your boyfriend) for a few weeks or a month and everything else you've said stays the same (you wanting to be with him, your Mom still not wanting you to see him) you two can work out some kind of compromise. Considering I do not know everything in the situation (I'm assuming not hearing about "Dad" yet plays a HUGE role into why your Mom may be overly strict with boyfrieds), I still have to lean towards minimizing your time with him. I do applaud your understanding of her stance and attempting to make a compromise, it does show a level of maturity I doubt most 17 year olds have. Also, I'm on the side of when most parents answer with "because I know what's best", usually means, they don't. I am a believer in if you have to use that as an answer, you obviously don't have a leg to stand on. Your Mom may need to let you try, if she is so strict with things. I don't think boyfriends are the first thing to give a little leeway with. Yes, I did. Not with someone 3 years older than me though. 13 years later she is still my best friend, the love was real then and it is now. I still think if it's as "real" as you say, it'd still be there too if you waited until you can handle real LIFE.Yes, I did. Sorry, speaking from Father's perspective here, so keep that in mind (he'd be dead if you were my daughter, no if's and's or but's about that)... Everything after Windows 95 is complete and utter bullsh!t. Maaaybe 97 opened up new possibilities, and the networking "improvements" that came with ME or XP could have been done in 95 with a few tweeks, so up to XP you can say each new Windows wasn't too bad (although unnecessary, and just an excuse to "package" new stuff and make more money).
