OK let's make this short. Ryan can't act like a professional his past remarks made that clear. His mouth is more suited to a punk player.
The Pats have this one. The Jets have struggled. They are a fine team but the Pats are better. Tom is no longer cumming back he has arrived. His team is so far ahead of where they were and that means the Ryan gets to eat a bunch of crow and maybe a ring to kiss.OK let's make this short. I guess I'm the only one who saw that Kevin caught the ball, got it to his chest, had the forward movement. The ref (I am trying to get a way to write to him) pulled the flag after he went to the ground and held up the ball. Then and only then. This is a bit suspicious to me. I have never seen a flag thrown after the fact with the exception of personal fouls.
I viewed this dozens of times. Each time it was the same.
Calling the Patriots cocky is far off. These guys act as professional everywhere they go. They are noted for being even handed and not in the habit of blaming anyone but themselves for their woes. Bill is not arrogant. He is also a professional. The determination to go for it was made by Tom, the offenses play caller. If they had got the down( and they did) everyone would have said, "What a ballsy play. Just like Bill and Tom", as most are used to. It was done for legitimate reasons and as the cameras showed it was a catch with forward movement a yard past the down.
I guess if you think it is a big when the game is given to you by bad calls in the last two minutes then so be it. But the Colts are a great team. Manning is nothing short of genius and they got the two TDs just like they can do and the Pats have done for so many years it is hard to remember.
All in all it was a great game. The winner, the winner. My point however is valid and the booth, the other refs and especially Mr., "Let me take all day to throw the flag made what could have been a real nail biter a bitter pill for the Patriots and the Colts because these guys are tops. The absolute best and the game showed that in spades.I guess I'm the only one who saw that Kevin caught the ball, got it to his chest, had the forward movement. This is going to be a shoot out. A fast, hard, even brutal game but in the end the Pats will take the Colts. They will do it because Brady and his offense are working on all cylinders in spite of the injuries. The defense, #2 is ready for Manning although with the speed he has and his offense being what it is this will be very interesting indeed.
The Colts are beatable. They have had hard times. They have won but the last game was close. For Manning to down his team you know he has issues. They will die when he hits the field but his teammates can't exactly be happy having been dissed by their own quarterback.
No matter how this plays out I think this game is going to be great.May the best team win. Did you say the Pats? Good choice. This is going to be a shoot out. I inferred that the team as a whole is not paid a lot of money and I stick by that. It is as you say hard to win a ring without spending serious dollars. When they won their first ring Tom was still making next to nothing compared to his counterparts. What I said about the rest still holds true as well. If you look at the bucks these guys get as compared to other teams and this includes Brady they do not make as much. They do not starve either. My point was that they get new talent, often for a song and they get a year or two on the cheap. I would be really surprised if Jarvis Green Ellis, Meriwether and a couple others did not demand a better cut and they will get it. They better because I like to see my team win. I like to see them make incredible plays and do it over and over and that is what I see whenever I watch these guys play at their best.
Like so many of you I love my team and I think they are the best. I do because they are a cut above many who play the game these days. They are made that way by so many factors that it can be hard to pin any one thing they do down as the most obvious reason for their success. I'm just glad that this year is turning out to be a lot better than the first two games foretold. That we have Bob Kraft and not Jerry Jones. That although we may not always win a ring the fans seem to always remain proud of these guys. Why not. After all they are the best. Or so I say.I inferred that the team as a whole is not paid a lot of money and I stick by that. It is as you say hard to win a ring without spending serious dollars. It is foolish to think that the Cowboys are somehow not a truly incredible team. I think Romo needs to be reined in at times because what he does off the field can often spill over onto the field. I personally could care less about star power. It's results that speak and carry the big clubs.
That said they have the right to draft, buy, trade or whatever, whenever they wish.
Pouring money into the players picks may seem tacky but then again I come from the Patriots way of doing things. Although to be honest cheap seems to the tune of the Pats. Here it is not the money but the prestige associated with the organization that often brings in incredible talent like Moss, Welker, Brady, and most others. They take cuts in pay or lower caps because that is what Old Bill and kraft want. Fact is it seems to work pretty well.
When you build a team on it's potential abilities instead of how much star power, money or fame that can be gotten it (in my opinion) makes for a much more dedicated, lean mean fighting machine.
Brady, Faulk, Moss, Welker, Seau, and a lot more truly gifted and money potential players have opted for lower salaries for the hope of making a team that wants to play for love of the game and team solidarity all in hopes of winning the golden goose at the end of the season.
The Cowboys come from money to begin with and that's fine. What they want to do with their money and players is up to them. They certainly have built a hell of a team. They certainly are not what is wrong with the NFL. Ryan and his arrogance seems to be what makes the league often look like all they want is to be famous and this is now showing in the latest stats and game results. The Colts are not unlike the Pats in that they have players that are there for love of the game and loyalty to the team. It shows in everything they do. Payton could, like Brady name his price but the love of his team and the want for excellence is what makes him and his team the winners they are right now and in the past.
My point is that all the teams have their way of building a club. When things go wrong and your big money potential players end up being duds you have clubs that unfortunately end up like the Bucs and others that are now struggling because the star power they bought has turned out to be star dust.
Regardless of how a team is built it's success or failure ends up in the hands of the coaches and whether or not they can do the job of making a team do their will.. The Jets, a few games ago thought that Ryan walked on water. Walking on water is not so impressive when the team takes on the attitude of the coach and starts to become a losing team because they cannot live up to the hype of their leaders. The whole of the team takes on the coaches attitude and so goes the team. They had it all or so they thought until they started losing. Bragging. Bad mouthing your opponents can end up back firing when you do not have the where with all to produce what you are hyping
My point is this. The Cowboys have had some success this year and last because they had hand picked the best they could buy. But in the end money is only a small part of what makes a team win games. The rest is attitude developed by hard work, ability and excellent coaching. We are lucky. We have stars who signed on not just to make money. Wilfork, Brady, welker and others mentioned have been the successes they are by working as a unit. No one person, including Brady makes the team a winner. Working their asses off and sacrificing their lives to make the team a wainner is what nends up being the l;ife blood of a winning team.It is foolish to think that the Cowboys are somehow not a truly incredible team. I think Romo needs to be reined in at times because what he does off the field can often spill over onto the field. I personally could care less about star power....(more)
Here we go! This is a test of the emergency Patriots offense. The defense has it's work cut out for it but this game in the end will be a Patriots win. Why? Because this team is ready. They have been a bit asleep at the wheel but the last two games did wonders for their confidence but also for their ability to get the ball where and win it is needed.
I may be wrong but Tom, playing the way he has is more than a match for the Miami defense. As good as they are Tom, Wes, Randy, Maroney, and the rest of the Patriots want this game and because they do and are willing to work hard to win it will make all the difference and the deciding decision for this game.
It will be a hard but well fought game. The rivalry and the hype make this one worth the price of admission. Well at least in front of my TV.
it's going to be a great game. I suggest you do not miss this one. Here we go! This is a test of the emergency Patriots offense. It appears the Pats have risen from their slumber. Not only is Tom throwing accurately and often but he is back to using the field, Randy, Lawrence, Wes, Aikens all of his backs and more and when he does this there is little that can stop him short of himself but that too will change as each game is played.
Meriweather is a force to be reckoned with. His actions on the field have been nothing short of amazing. What a find. What a defender. Between him and the awakening of Maroney and the fleetness of Randy Moss the offense was a sight to be seen.
This game went as expected by many but I thought, and rightly so that Bill's concerns for their offense and their ability to move in the pocket and down field was at times apparent but unfortunately for the Bucks Johnson just was not able to move the ball and his backs holding on to the ball became very questionable from the start.
As good as this game was in terms of pulling together and making their assignments work these two last teams, although they have great potential are just not living up to the standards both teams once enjoyed.
So where does that leave us? With hard work and continued pulling together, getting their assignments right each play and Tom making the tough throws and decisions this team is going to be hard to beat.
Last year the Dolphins handed us a cup of humility served with a side of whoopass. I do not think the Pats are going to make the same mistaks twice, that is not their way. The wildcat is now old news as is the use of it by the dolphins.
Let's face it though, this is a good team with a good record and the ability to make us pay if we screw up and this is the Achiles heel of the Pats. If they do not come to play their absolute best game they will lose. I do not think that is going to happen anymore than I think the defense is not prepared for the wildcat. This is where Junior becomes even more valuable. With his knowledge of this offense and his know how in dealing with the worst of defensive stone walls he will be able to give the defense a more balanced ability too defend against this often perplexing formation. Frankly I do not think this is going to be the issue. Meriweather, Seau, Wilfork and the rest of this defense is ready for bear and I really believe that the Pats will take this one. It will not be the rout seen the last two games, the Dolphins are not to be taken lightly. They are a strong, fast, explosive team but in the end I truly believe they will make this another clean win.It appears the Pats have risen from their slumber. What a game. Once again they were hitting on all cylinders. Randy was over shot but he still is making a difference and the rest of the team seems hell bent on showing the league they are not to be trifled with but frankly, as much as I love the Pats, the last two games were not exactly the toughest they will face but they have learned, are growing more confident and have been working their butts off making the offense click and the defense to step up and make the big plays. If they continue on, grow more confident of their abilities in all fazes of the game as they have been they actually would have a shot at the Super Bowl. Now that's jumping to unrealistic conclusions but I really love these guys and know that if they continue to show us the team they have been becoming we will see tougher teams fall as they have in the past and still can now that Brady has his legs back under him. Meriweather was incredible and makes his team look even better. What a professional this kid is. Maroney is looking good too. He is a bull when he gets one step ahead. Green Ellis, well what can ya say except they have some fine guys stepping up to replace the injured. Volmon (I'm guessing at the spelling), has been amazing. I mean a rookie stepping into the slot for Matt Light and doing as good if not better than Light at times. I know how dare I but damn if he isn't one tough tackle.
Am I the only one who thought Logan Mankins was a bit off. He caused no less than three penalties. Bad day for the big guy.
It was good to Thomas back and agin Junior was there to raise hell and did.
If the Patriots just keep their heads and and not lose their edge they are going to be a tough team to beat. The last two may have been teams with issues but they were also playing to win and we were just that much more on top of things. The Bi week will do them good after London. That trip must have raised hell with their internal clocks.
I feel bad for the Bucs in a way because they have to go right back to it and the jet lag will still be raising hell with their systems.
All in all a great game and fun to watch. The Patriots went there to win and played a great game. But like the coach and his players will tell you, like the coach and the players are always want to say after a victory.; it was a great game and we did real fine but that was then and this is a new team we will play soon and that is what we want to do, play hard and win".
Can't wait for the next one. It sure has been fun since they started showing up for the games together. For a while I wondered if they were ever going to get to the party together, Well they showed you and I. For my part I am really proud of the way they have handled themselves. But that is what we come to expect from one of the greatest teams in the NFL.What a game. Once again they were hitting on all cylinders.
