Hi bitches. Recovering from the flu, and I must say that the "experts" are indeed correct this year. It IS a real bitch. Evac cramps + flu aches = very bad, can't move off the couch for 5 days straight kinda shi**y. Not to mention the fever, congestion, stomach pains, and endless coughing. Sis, I wanted to watch Do No Harm since that dude from Rescue Me is my bestie's cousin. Nice guy, married (sidenote, Billie Porter gave a speech at his wedding that made me almost pee myself), but I still say he's a little . So I'm doing the Q Book Club this month? If so, I'm giving this disclaimer... if I choose a book(s) that have been chosen already, I'm not redoing it. Vote accordingly. And if I choose 3 books that have all been read, you're reading one again or skipping a month. Not sure I care about the Superbowl at all this year. I'll still watch, though. Maybe that's because you're not Christian, black, or a farmer... just a thought. Good day, bitches. So far my birthday has been mehh. Got a few nice gifts (Edible Arrangements chocolate covered strawberries and apples from my A-List homos, a perfect gift card from Stoney, and some more chocolate from a coworker ... all this food, damn, I AM a fat ass) and at least got the day off ... even though I had some stuff to take care of earlier. Other than the incapacitating, blinding headache I had earlier, it's been a good day. Oh, and American Idol is back tonight. I, for one, am excited. After watching it, I may not be as happy about it (I'm sure it won't be the insane free-for-all Celebrity Deathmatch (aww, I miss doing those) I imagine it will be). Good day, bitches. Wow, been awhile. Like riding a bike. Anyway, hi. How are you? And by "how are you?", I mean please give me a really brief good/fair/ok kinda answer because I simply haven't the time to get into all of your lives. Hopefully some day soon I'll be able to catch up, but for now, unless someone is dead or dying, let's keep it simple. Thanks. I saw Jen posted something on that show Justified. Blew my mind that the crazy snake-preacher dude is the kid from Jurassic Park. I don't even watch the show, but I kept staring every time the commercial came on anyway. My coworker made me a penis cake for my birthday. It was an HR nightmare, but a dream come true for me. So I obviously took a picture and immediately sent it to two people ... Stoney and my District Manager. (It's ok, I'm amazed I still have a job too.) I'd post the picture but I'm pretty sure that's not allowed. Can we post genitals in the form of baked goods? I went out on Saturday night with a bunch of friends to my local LGBT club, The Den. Yeah, I know. It was fun and exhausting. It was my friend Angelo's first club experience because he's somewhere between the ages of 12-18 ... allegedly 18, but he wouldn't actually give me his ID when I asked for it ... repeatedly. I'm just looking out for my friend who's dating him (he's 35, yep, do the math ... no really, do it, it's funny) and I don't need him getting arrested for sodomizing an underage boy. My life is complicated enough. Anyway, back to Angelo... since he's quiet and shy and it was his first time in a club, obviously we eased him into it. And by "we", I mean everyone but me since I dragged him out to dance constantly and made him shake it up on a speaker with me at one point. Don't worry, I didn't go too crazy. New gays in a club are a lot like introducing new fish to a tank. Like, he should have been put in a large plastic bag and floated in the club so he could acclimate to his new surroundings from a safe distance first. The last time I went to this particular establishment, my friend Travis got super drunk and pissed at his BF, stormed out on foot, fell in the street, then face-planted in a random field until we found him. I was ok with the living room/bedroom since I only have lamps in there with no real switch-on lights to speak of. The kitchen and bathroom, however, at least 3 times a day. Good day, bitches. After 6 days of no power/heat/hot water, I got back into this century on Sunday afternoon. No more wearing 3 layers of clothing to bed every night, no more constant worrying that I smell while out in public, no more gas lines (hopefully ... I'm not down with trying to warp myself into the 70s in THAT way), no more having to spend ridiculous amounts of money on basic supplies everyday, and no more romantic (albeit, solo) dinners by candlelight. As nice as it was to eat foods every night that were prepared FOR me, and as much as I love me some sushi (see below), it's not as awesome when it's 53 degrees in the house and you can barely see it. The only thing open near me during the blackout was our King's, which is the priciest supermarket in the area. Of course. Thankfully I can carry on my former pledge to NOT shop there ever now. I have been saving up to adopt a highway, after all. I need to be more responsible with my money. Shout out to all my fellow Tri-Staters who weathered the s**tstorm, as well. Kudos to us for rocking, like, a lot. Also a shout out to Stoney for having Annie Sullivan, aka "The Miracle Worker", level patience when I had no internet and no phone battery to speak of. Granted, it sucked WAY harder for me, but you were still a little trooper. And lastly, shout out to Obama for making me right all along and giving me 4 more years of relative-taunting pleasure. Looks like my mom IS getting regifted that "Countdown Until Obama's Last Day" clock she gave me last Christmas. Enjoy it. Good day, bitches.
