I just got home from Buffalo Wild Wings. I tipped the girl 10 bucks on a 20 dollar meal just for having some of the nicest boobs ive seen in a long time. I truly wish i could dump a page long post on exactly why i do know what im talking about. Lets just say i get to see things from a "clinical" perspective....daily. UP CLOSE. Ahem...anyway. Im an employer. I provide insurance for my employees. Offering benefits attracts more people to come work for my company. Smart highly qualified people like benefits. I like smart qualified people. Now...here comes an option for my employees to buy into a different insurance...ONLY IF THEY WANT TO....(and dont use the tax argument again b/c you pay taxes anyway regardless)...and if they DO its beneficial to me and the employee. Why? Because my benefit costs just dropped by one employee while they get to choose a coverage that may be more beneficial than what im offering. And yes...i will continue to offer benefits...because i like the expanded job pool that offering benefits brings to my company. If my company's carrier would happen to not be able to compete in this brave new world....then im sure i could find one that could. Now again.. on the tax thing. Whether my taxes go up to help pay for government sponsered healthcare or my taxes go up fund a local road project or my taxes go up to help pay for two retarded wars.....my taxes go up. If its an easier pill for the republicans to swallow maybe Obama can tell us our taxes are going up to help fund our bullsh*t war on terror. Then he can use it to fund healthcare but the republicans wont care b/c the wars are way more important than a fundamental right of a citizen not to die poor at home. Economics 101. You supply something that is now being offered at a lower price by someone else. Either you lower prices or increase benefits to stay competitive or you go out of business. Easy. I think some of you are missing the point that if you have your own insurance this doesnt even affect you. You want the government out of your lives but its not even your f*cking life its affecting. Rant Yeah...without going into details b/c of any trouble i might bring on myself....Janet is right. The cost of an uninsured person treating your local ER like a free clinic...(b/c legally an emergency room cant deny treatment to ANYONE)...is more of a burden to taxpayers than ANY possible health care reform. HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of people use our ER's without insurance. Who pays that? You do Mr. I Hate Obama Man. Your premiums go up. Why? Because when you're in the hospital your insurance company bills you $8.50 for a single Tylenol to recoup losses from the 50 they just gave away free yesterday. Your insurance in turn raises your premiums b/c god knows they're not paying that without getting it back down the road. So believe the conservative morons like Hannity and O'Reilly if you want...they're the ones that have enough money to afford this ongoing S.N.A.F.U. of a health care system. No sh*t! Its far and away better than any other cop drama EVER made. I recommend all of you going out and picking up the entire series on DVD. Five seasons for around 100 bucks.
