Here's part of the reason why he has alot of fans. Let's make an analogy, lets say Tom Brady has been playing for the patriots for 16 years and won 7 super bowls. While playing in his 8th super bowl, on the last play of the game he let's go of a hail mary while getting hit by a DE coming hard, he falls to the ground awkwardly on his head and dies. His son is the 2nd string QB who's won a couple NCAA football championships (busch series championships) he becomes the starter and has some early success, making the playoffs a couple years but not winning a super bowl. The last few years he's been mediocre. Would you be a fan of Tom Brady's son over rival players from teams like the Giants and Jets? Here's part of the reason why he has alot of fans. JJ winning 4 championships in a row is not being covered as much, 1 because media darlings college football and pro football are going to get the majority of media attention this time of year, 2. It's pretty much been a forgone conclusion that he's winning it again, and I'd be suprised if he didn't win number 5 next year. To answer your question Pat, the overall # of races won is important, but what also is important is how consistent your finishes are throughout the course of the season. I think you will agree consistency at a high level is important in any "sport" or non sport competition like you call NASCAR. JJ has been near, or at the top of the wins list the last 4 years. I don't know what other format you could have for NASCAR competition, but if you have ideas I'd love to hear them. As for NASCAR not being a sport in your opinion, I think your absolutley right. NASCAR is way bigger than any sport, it's a way of life. For most NASCAR fans being in attendence at a race is not for 3 hours of watching cars turn left on a sunday afternoon. Race weekends are events of 4-5 days, of being at the track with some of the best people in the world, getting to watch the best racing the world has to offer. I'm in your boat, I'm in enough fantasy leagues on other sites, and I like that they last a long time because it's more gratifying when you win. I'm not sure what the deal is with this quick fantasy stuff, and friends of mine usually aren't on the site at the same times that I am to play. Maybe I'm not understanding it right.
