Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr.(Muhammad Ali) and Oscar De La Hoya
Why I am a fan:
Ali was known for his fighting style, which he described as "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee".[3] Throughout his career Ali made a name for himself with great handspeed, as well as swift feet and taunting tactics. While Ali was renowned for his fast, sharp out-fighting style, he also had a great chin, and displayed great courage and an ability to take a punch throughout his career. De La Hoya has defeated seventeen world champions and has won ten world titles in six different weight classes.[1][2] He has also generated more money than any other boxer in the history of the sport.[3] De La Hoya's amateur career included 223 wins, 163 by knockout, with only 5 losses. He won the United States' only boxing gold medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics, a win which he dedicated to his deceased mother.[4] De La Hoya founded Golden Boy Promotions, a combat sport promotional firm. He is the first American of Hispanic descent to own a national boxing promotional firm and one of the few boxers to take on promotional responsibilities while still active.

David Robert Joseph Beckham
Why I am a fan:
Former manager Sir Alex Ferguson said that he "practised with a discipline to achieve an accuracy that other players wouldn't care about."[89] He maintained his training routine at Real Madrid and even when his relationship with management was strained in early 2007, Ramon Calderon and Fabio Capello praised Beckham for maintaining his professionalism and commitment to the club. Beckham was the first England player ever to collect two red cards and the first England captain to be sent off.[92] Beckham's most notorious red card was during the 1998 FIFA World Cup: after Argentina's Diego Simeone had fouled him, Beckham lashed out with his leg and the Argentine fell. England went on to lose the game on penalties, and Beckham was listed as a public enemy. For Real Madrid he amassed 41 yellow cards and four red cards.

It's not so important if I get into a shooting position. Our strength is the defense, that's where we have to win balls.

Terry Gene Bollea (Hulk Hogan)
Why I am a fan:
(born August 11, 1953) better known by his ring name Hulk Hogan, is an American actor, and semi-retired professional wrestler. He starred in the VH1 reality show Hogan Knows Best and is the co-host of American Gladiators on NBC. In addition, he makes frequent guest appearances on his daughter's reality show, Brooke Knows Best. Bollea had mainstream popularity in the mid 1980s through the early 1990s as the all-American, working-class hero character Hulk Hogan in the World Wrestling Federation (WWFnow World Wrestling Entertainment) and was notable in the mid-to-late 1990s as "Hollywood" Hogan, a villainous nWo leader, in World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Following WCW's fold, he made a brief return to the WWE in the early 2000s, combining elements of his two most famous personas. Bollea was later inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005 and is officially a twelve-time world champion: a six time WWF/E Champion and a six time WCW World Heavyweight Champion as well as a former one time Tag Team Champion with Edge. He was also the winner of the Royal Rumble in 1990 and 1991.

Michael Jeffrey Jordan
Why I am a fan:
basketball player and active businessman. His biography on the National Basketball Association (NBA) website states, "By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time." Jordan was one of the most effectively marketed athletes of his generation and was instrumental in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s. In the 199394 season, the Jordan-less Bulls notched a 5527 record,[18] and lost to the New York Knicks in the second round of the playoffs. But the 199495 version of the Bulls was a shell of the championship squad of just two years earlier. Struggling at mid-season to ensure a spot in the playoffs, Chicago needed a lift. The lift came in early 1995, when Jordan decided to return to the NBA for the Bulls. On March 18, 1995, Jordan announced his return to the NBA through a two-word press release: "I'm back." The next day, Jordan donned jersey number 45 (his number with the Barons), as his familiar 23 had been retired in his honor following his first retirement. He took to the court with the Bulls to face the Indiana Pacers in Indianapolis, scoring 19 points. The game had the highest Nielsen rating of a regular season NBA game since 1975.
